I had chickenpox last year and my daughter caught them from me. The pox come out for 5 days, after this there hopefully won't be any new ones. There's no way to stop them coming out. Poxcilin mousse is great, I also used Virasoothe spray and oat baths. Piriton helps the itch too.Hi all
My daughter (2.5) has got chicken pox, she’s fine in herself, no temp etc.. I’ve given her an oat bath and got some lotion for it. Is it just a waiting game to see how many more come out over the next few days? We’ve got Haven on Monday for a week and I’m still going - we aren’t doing stay and play so we will just stay away from people like we do anyway usually and thankfully it’s not school hols. The spots started on Tuesday and google says 5 days contagious, but more have appeared on her back today, her pubic area and bum is really sore.. I can’t move the holiday so if we don’t go I’ll lose what I’ve paid and I’ll still have to take annual leave as she can’t go to nursery so seems abit of a waste not going, (providing she isn’t unwell..). Anyone got any tips for chickenpox? I don’t want them to spread further or onto her face but it’s impossible isn’t it??

At least they aren’t on her face. Hopefully she doesn’t get anymore and you’re over the worst of it! Oat baths are great and will help with scarring too. Oh bless her my daughter is the same, she understands the instruction but can’t make the connection with her body just yet. She’ll get there!I’ve got that mousse thank you! I hope your little girl gets better soon tooShe isn’t scratching thankfully - she hasn’t got that many it’s just all on her pubic/bum area and it looks horrendous..!! The other spots are crusting over at the moment, I dread waking up tomorrow and she’s full of them.. but another oat bath tonight and one tomorrow too.
Lots of nappy free time and just dealing with any accidents (also confirmed to me she isn’t ready for potty training as I said to her tell mummy when you need a wee and we can go upstairs to the toilet and she said ok .. then wee’d on the rug🫠) but I’d rather she wasn’t in a nappy I have to change all the time& the pharmacist said it’ll make it worse too.
Have a lovely time at Park Dean, I keep looking for them but I just generally stick to Haven x
I love haven we’re going with my family for a weekend in September. I’m hoping it’s just a virus or it’s going to be a tough week in a campervan with a two year old
The spots are contagious until the last one heals over and all of the blisters are gone. Please don’t go anywhere she can spread it, for some kids chicken pox can be very very serious. My perfectly healthy 4yo was hospitalised with pain as they were quite literally everywhere there wasn’t a single inch of skin not covered and then secondary skin infections and then had pneumonia off the back of it and in all honesty it took him over a month to get back to his normal self and if I’m honest he’s still not at peak levels and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, I’ve never seen him so unwell and he’s had cellulitis before which was scary enoughHi all

I don’t say this to scare you or make you feel guilty but really do exercise caution with the spread. Hope she doesn’t get it too bad and gets over it quick! We did get to do some stuff before he got really unwell though, as you say just kept a huge distance from people! Kids were sent to try us I think and they always know the best time to get sick you might find they all scab over anyway, have a lovely time away xxxChickenpox is very contagious. I got it in work from someone just coming up to me for two seconds (I had a mask on). It's so easily spread. They are contagious til they've all crusted over.

So she’s got even more this morning. They look awful on her face she’s had a rubbish night sleep she just couldn’t get settled and we’ve had about 3 hours max. Ffs

I’m pretty sure they can keep coming out for about 5-7 days or something along those lines but it does vary. As I say, when all of them are scabbed over she can go back to nursery. nightmare - we’ve got haven till Monday but was coming back on Sunday night. If they haven’t scabbed over by Monday we will stay till then but it means a day unpaid off at work..! Frustrating but I can’t do much, her Dad won’t take time off work as they’re so busy and my work are more flexible. Just hoping they start to scab by end of the week! Probably in the minority here but I’ve only ever taken my eldest (she’s 9) to McDonalds once, and I’ve never taken the others (6,3,1). My eldest and my 6yo have had McDonalds with my parents once or twice as well.
My mother in law has my son when we’re at work and she takes him once / twice a week and I’m actually so worried about it!!!!!
Once a month, if that. It’s not something we do often ourselves.
I mean, if he eats an otherwise healthy balanced diet and he is active then I wouldn’t worry too much. But equally if you don’t want him having it so often you should just tell her you’d rather he wasn’t having it every week and to only give it to him very occasionally
She is a horrible person if you do something to offend her. You can’t say anything to her without her being offended. She’ll ag me off to the whole family

Maybe once a week/every 10 days? My toddler doesn’t eat it though. He completely refuses and we still buy and throw it every time. It’s more for the 6 year old. The only thing he will eat is the apple and grapes pack
