According to my three year old I’m a “plain old lady”. Wounded.
I made an “in pain” noise earlier because I had a bad tummy pain and my two year old went “mummmy wah wah wah” and sort of fake cried with the hands by her eyes (that sort of ott hand gesture to wipe sarcastic tears away 🤦🏼‍♀️)
Toddlers are brutal! (Ps I’m sure you’re not plain. Or old!)

Even nappies have leaked overnight for him recently. He lies on his side, and there is nothing absorbent there in any of them, so it just floods out.
Doesn’t help that he drinks 40 gallons of boob overnight
Oh, my friend has this problem too. They go through tons of nappies. Solidarity with the bed changes every morning 😂

Any tips for my three year old toilet training.. day one naked bottom down self initiated poop and wee every time. Day two in trousers (no underwear), has had only accidents today. He is still taking himself to the potty or we are reminding him - but no results. Keep persevering?

My little boy is booked in for this Nasal flu spray thing, I'd never heard of it! Are there any side effects? Do I need to stock up on more calpol or anything? Xxx

I would go back to naked on the bottom, and closely watching. It’s pretty normal for them to do that though, have a strong start and then the following days when it’s all not so new and exciting they basically can’t be bothered anymore 🙈

My 10yo has never had any side effects from it in all the years he's been having it

My son (3.5 years old) is having his flu vaccine this morning. Is it still a nasal spray at this age or an actual injection?

He seemed quite stressed when he accidentally wee’d so we did the naked botttom again and that set him back on track. My fav thing is coming into the room and seeing he has taken himself to the potty, yay for no nappy change battles lol. No going back now!

It's nasal spray till they're an adult. Injection is only offered for religious & dietary reasons. My 10yo brought his flu form home yesterday.

Any advice on my 3.5 pooping on the toilet? He just… won’t 😫 He’s done a few, he’s dead good and does every wee on the toilet but with a poo he just lets it go in his underpants every time. He’s still in pull ups at night and he’s really crafty and waits till i’ve put his pull up on and poos in that or poos just after he wakes up before i get his underpants or boxers on! Now he’s in a primary school nursery and Ive mentioned he isn’t really good at identifying when he needs a poo and going the toilet, 4 days no accidents but yesterday i picked him up and he had soiled his boxers and trousers. The teacher said he’s ‘very reluctant to go the toilet’ any tips?? Thank you

We struggled with this and honestly it was just positive reinforcement and perseverance that got us through it. He didn't like wiping his own bum and actually once said why should he have to do it when I can do it? 🤔🫣 so I stopped doing it at home and praised him lots when he done it himself at home and he gradually started doing it at school too.

Hi everyone,

Feel like I just whinge when I come on here but looking for some tips.

My 1yo has had every cold going since starting nursery 5 weeks ago to the point I get anxious to take him and worry what’s next. We’ve already had d+v too.

This cold I’ve had for 10 days now, it’s gone to my sinuses and I generally feel so tit. However, my boy is struggling to sleep because of all the snot. He hates the snot sucker too but I use it when I can.

I’ve got the calpol plug in, use olbas oil and baby Vick on him at night to try and help. Does anyone have any other suggestions how to help? Seems relentless and never ending ☹

Oh I really sympathise, relentless colds are awful! We use a humidifier which I find works really well for her (the Vicks one), calpol/ibuprofen if it’s bad, and she got more into the snot sucker once she realised it made her nose feel better - I used to get her to do mine and then she’d put it in her nose, but now she’s realised it helps she’s much happier with it. Also, a warm milk, and I try and get her to eat an orange every day (easier said than done haha)

Sadly it’s part of starting nursery and this time of year. We’ve all got colds for the first time in months. My 8 month old is particularly bad. I use the calpol saline spray to clear his nose before feeding and that helps a lot. A humidifier helps too. Your one year old is probably too young but you can use Echinacea (not if pregnant or breastfeeding or immunosuppressed) which helps support your immune system and other benefits. Hope you feel better soon.

It happens for us for majority of the school year. Constant colds. They went back 2 weeks ago and we're just getting over the first cold 😂

You're doing pretty much all you can do really.
Takes my youngest months to get over a cold, she's always left with an night time cough.

Only other thing you can do is raise the cot slightly. We usually put a pillow under the matress

Thank you for the replies 🥰 we are quite isolated in that we have no family local and none of my friends or colleagues have kids yet so I had no idea how ‘common’ being ill so much was.

Yet something else you don’t really give a thought to until it happens 🤣

Hope everyone feels better from their colds too! Xx
