Why is the 30 free hours such stress? I’ve spent most of my day on the phone to them 🫠 Can’t kids just start nursery fuss free 😵💫

Why has my child decided that 34 degree heat is exactly the time to enter her snuggly cuddly phase 🥵 I love her but bloody hell it’s hot. Thought I’d avoided a heatwave this pregnancy but apparently not!

Nursery have sent tiny human home with homework, we need to send them back in with four objects that tell their classmates all about who they are - what the flipping flip am I meant to do with that?! What four objects describe my child that I also don’t care if they get lost or damaged 🫣

One of the items for my toddler would be a box of crackers.

Could you maybe write or draw the items on paper instead of sending them in?

💩POO TALK💩

Has anyone experienced blood in stool? My nearly 4 year old did a poo earlier today that was hard, clearly constipated. Half of it was red. It looks like fresh blood sitting on top. So I’m thinking it’s a tear from the constipating where it was hard to pass. The only other thing I can think of is she’s had a few red ice poles as it’s been so hot.

I’ll call the gp on Monday if no further blood to get checked over as she’s fine in herself and has no pain.

Assuming it's not the ice poles, bright red blood is typically caused by a tear in the bowel or hemorrhoids. If the blood was dark red or black, it's come from further up the intestines and could be caused by a number of things.

Thank you; she was definitely constipated and it was hard to pass but no blood on the wipe. She has eaten and drank normally today and her usual self so I’ll see how she is tomorrow.

Yesss, I had a phone consultation with the GP and when I explained the poo/blood she said it sounded like constipation and prescribed laxatives without seeing her but said if it happened again they’d arrange an appointment straightaway - it didn’t, even without the laxatives, so was just a bit of constipation

Thank you, I definitely think it is constipation but don’t want to dismiss it. She had another poo just before bed which was back to normal consistency and colour. I’ll keep an eye on it over the next few days and call the gp if it happens again. Between my baby’s allergy poos and now this my brain is poo obsessed 🤣

@jackieweaver’sauthority i know you’ve already had answers but just to say i had similar a few weeks ago with my 2yo. His was clearly fresh blood, I assume from a tear as he was slightly constipated and really did struggle with it. It hasn’t happened since.

bleeping sick of 2 year sleep regression. Today was the 9th 4am wake up in a row, and he only has 20/30 min nap at lunchtime. Tantrums galore. Demands, whining. I’m so tired I am physically shaking with exhaustion

4am is brutal! What time does he go to bed?

Around 7pm. Always has done. He was amazing at night time used to do 7-6.30am.
But now he’s dropping the nap and wakes up crying at 4am. I’m so broken. Single parent with no “village”

I’m sure you’ve tried, but could you bring his bedtime forward a bit? If he’s dropped a nap maybe he’s overtired? We are hit and miss with naps but on a nap day (30 mins max) bedtime is 7-7.30, on a non nap day bedtime could be as early as 6. Sending lots of solidarity though because it is tough!!!!!

Yeah so the other night id quite literally had enough and I felt sick with tiredness so he was in the bath at 5.30pm and in bed for 6. He still woke up crying mummy 2/3 times between midnight and 3am and then was still up for the day around 4.
I spoke to the HV just for reassurance because I’ve got depression (that’s stemmed from PND) and I’m just struggling so much with the total burnout and she said it’s a phase and he will go back to his night time sleep soon.
