My daughter also has to constantly be sitting on me and I feel guilty because I say to her I’m too hot but then she sits as close as possible without actually being on me 😅

Why do they wake up at 6 on days they can have a lie in and on nursery/work days I’m having to wake her up?

Well my toddler had a 45 minute meltdown when she got home today, couldn’t do anything to calm her down. She was screaming on the drive so all the neighbours will have heard 🤣 Eventually got her to calm down, did have to walk away a couple of times but in general I was very calm with her so proud of myself. She ended up having animal biscuits for supper 🤷🏼‍♀️ not so proud of that but needs must.

I definitely think it’s the heat. Nursery did say she was quite hot and bothered today there.
The heat doesn’t help at all. 45 mins omg😭

So bedtime was a tit show as per usual! Told her to pick one book, that’s all we had time for as she Was taking forever to go for a wee and pick a book. She picked 3. Just went with it, got her into bed and she picked the book she wanted. We was laughing at the characters and having a cuddle then when I put the books back she rolled out of bed

That used to be the case here! It’s just so stuffy even with the fan on and I’m lucky if she sleeps past 6am at the moment 🫠 I dose back off slightly whilst she watches iPad in my bed till 7, she was having none of going back to sleep this morning she was kissing my face saying GOOD MORNING MUMMY 😂

I’ve just bought a big paddling pool to put her slide in for the garden woop

We’ve had two wee accidents in two days. Just happened now with the baby screaming his head off in Costa. As if I wasn’t getting enough stares. Might have cried in the toilet 🙃 It’s my fault as she drank a whole fruit shoot before we left the house and I should have worked a toilet stop in before. I told her we are not going to the park now as she’s got wet knickers but I don’t want to punish her for it so I’m going to buy some.

It’s feeling really hard atm as the baby is hysterical any time he is put down and so she starts kicking off and my head feels like it’s going to explode. I feel like I’m not meeting either of their needs.

sometimes we just can’t meet everyone’s needs 100%. What matters is they are safe and cared for, and sometimes that has to be enough. You cannot give more than you can give. You’re doing your best, going through a rough time.
I know I’m a broken record, but do you have a sling for baby?
With drinking more in the heat I think a few more toilet pit stops sounds like a good idea.
You're doing a great job, in a very trying period of parenthood. X

My 5 yr old is having more wet accidents. I think the adjustment to the new baby takes them a while and comes out in different ways. I keep collecting her from school and she’s in a totally different outfit.
It’s so hard with the babies at this age and a little one. I ended up doing my labour breathing exercises on the school run yesterday because everything was doing my head in xx

You’re doing a fab job. How anyone leaves the house with more than one child is my hero. Can you take spare knickers whilst it’s warm. Accidents happen. We can’t get everything right all the time. Do you have anyone to help you?
let people stare they’ve probably been there themselves at some point. Going to the park might make you feel a bit better if she can have a play

Thank you everyone. This thread is amazing with all the support you give. The baby fell asleep two minutes after, we got cleaned up and the world didn’t feel like it was ending anymore. So dramatic 🤣 I did have a little cry reading here after.

I do have a carrier. I forget about it when at home as I don’t find it that easy with him on me and it’s only been the last few days he’s been like this. I’ll try it tomorrow as preschool days are much harder. I will defo be bringing out a spare outfit for her and going back to basics with adding in wee breaks now it’s hot.

Apart from that little blip she actually did so well being dragged round the shops and he slept for most of it. She had a little play in the shopping centre soft play and we came home and had an icecream together.

She said today that she wants to move to the next room at preschool as she can go out to the garden when she wants. I went to view a Montessori one on Monday, they have a space for her from sept. We are doing a stay and play on Monday there to see what she thinks of it. They were really reassuring about getting her settled in and supporting her. I have put a pause on the referral for now as we don’t know what we’re doing with keeping her there or moving.

Oh see!!! Things are daunting at the time but once they are off your chest & have cried them out it doesn’t seem so bad
How old is your baby? Could he be teething or is he not old enough yet
I blame the heat 🤣 for everything!! Or just the fact he’s a boy and clingy.
it must be really hard trying to go shopping with two children. One is hard sometimes.

that sounds positive on the nursery. Fingers crossed
Don’t be so hard on yourself I’m sure you’re doing amazing 🩷

If your 3 year old fell asleep at 10 to 5, would you leave them for the night or wake them up?? I’ve been trying to wake him up since half 5 and nothing 🥲🥲🥲 He’s just fast asleep

Possibly teething as he’s been extra chewy, including my nipples which is funnnn 🥴 although I always blame teething when he’s in a grump 😂 I think it is the heat and the fact he’s tired as hasn’t been getting much sleep when we’re at home before preschool. Thank you I really appreciate it ♥

If struggling to wake him I’d probably move him to his bed and hope for the best. The heat has probably zapped him.

Sometimes in the moment things are just so overwhelming, it can break you a bit. But out of the heat of the moment things always look brighter.
I still carry a change of clothes for my 4yo when we go out - she’s been toilet trained for 2.5yrs, but even if she gets wet playing, or muddy, or spills ice cream or whatever I like to have it. I only recently stopped carrying spares for my 7yo!

So today I didn’t take the iPad with me in the car, we went to run a few errands and I just couldn’t be assed with it. Now, we NEVER have arguement over the iPad and she’s never bothered with me taking it off her at night time etc but her behaviour has been like she’s a different child…. And… I’ve not had to raise my voice or even shout once today. This is so rare atm 😂 also……!!! She was led on me this afternoon and kept kissing me and being silly, it was just so so lovely as I’ve felt deflated and like a tit mum recently. AND we’ve not had any drama at bedtime. I read 2 books in my room 7:15-7:30 and at 7:30 she was in bed, she didn’t even mention books. I’m going to keep reading books in my room as then she will know it’s wee and into her bed for sleep. This is the first day / night in so long we’ve not had an arguement 🥹

Oh my god was just putting my daughter to bed, laying next to her in pitch dark room when out corner of my eye see a spider run across ME so obviously immediately flick it away. Then thought I must have been imagining that until I saw it crawl up the bed guard next to my face! Daughter was asleep on my arm and I had a knee jerk reaction and pulled it away and thankfully she didn’t even stir. Ran to get a shoe to squish it as couldn’t leave it there to crawl over her all night 😫 traumatised now.
