I’ve been reading ur posts for a while I don’t think this is the first time you’ve ranted about him … I know it isn’t as simple as this but honestly if it was me I think I’d cut ties with him he sounds like a waste of space who doesn’t put his daughter first. Like you say can go to Cheltenham. Which isn’t cheap! I bet spent loads on beer.
your poor daughter her own great grandma doesn’t want her being there !? None of them sound very nice 😧😧
Sorry if any of this is out of order.
I don't think him being useless with money and/or lazy is a reason to cut him off from being a Dad.
Not only does he have rights himself, going from seeing her Dad 3 days a week/overnight would have a massive impact on the daughter too.

Don’t you just love the days where you can’t win 🙃

We’ve been to a toddler class, she’s moaned.
We came home, she moaned.
We’ve been outside, she’s moaned.

Omg are you me and my son? 🤣
We also went to a music class, his bottom lip was out the whole time.
We went for a walk, hated it. Came home, cried.
However, I checked his temp when we got home and it was 37.4, and checked just now, it’s jumped to 38.5
I find it so difficult when he can’t communicate to me if he’s not feeling well. Now I feel guilty for taking him anywhere when he’s not well.
Tbf he hasnt show any illness symptoms.

Hope he feels better soon @Hairraiser!

Also weirdly enough that was us last week where suddenly Friday afternoon she came down with a fever, didn’t want to eat, just wanted to sleep. Woke up Saturday morning completely fine again 😅

I hope so too, I’m at work tomorrow so daddy will be on TLC duties.
I really hope it’s the same as you say, he’s had viral infections before and it completely wipes Him out for days.

My 3 year old is having my life. Absolute nightmare trying to take them to the shops. They've regressed with their toilet training too.

My toddler slept in Sunday and Monday morning, yet after crying for an hour before bedtime (which she only does if she’s shattered) is now still awake 🥲 make it make sense

My just graduated boddler (almost 2.5 yo) will no longer nap anywhere except my car. Spent almost 45 minutes driving around trying to get him to go to sleep 😖

And on that note, seeking advice regarding sleeping. The little darling is now able to open his sleeping bags and has buggered the zip on two of them. Does anyone use a duvet with a 2.5yo?

My eldest didn't graduate to a bed until he was about 3.5 and was fine with his sleeping bags. I'm a worrier and not happy about Small Biscuit messing around with his sleeping bag. But then he is a wriggly sleeper and is all over the place in his cot so I'm concerned that a duvet isn't much better. Most of the advice I've Googled is about them not sleeping at all which isn't really what I'm looking for. Help! 🙈

Absolutely LOVE IT when the clocks change

My daughter is back to getting up at 7am 😂 I prefer it when the clocks go forward! Especially when she’s been getting up earlier last week.

I used a normal single duvet when my daughter was in her single bed at 2 (ish) years old. She has an all year round duvet I think it’s 10.5 tog and in winter she has a blanket on top too! 99% of the time she wakes up without the covers on her. Just get him a normal duvet, in time she learnt to pull it up over her if she got cold, and if she was too warm she would kick it off anyway x

Mine all would have used a duvet at that age. TMe is not quite 2 yet and he sleeps (with me in my bed 🙈) with a duvet.

My boddler is 21 months and she’s had a duvet since about 15/16 months as she hated a sleeping bag. She tends to kick the duvet off completely tbh but if she’s cold she will sometimes keep it on. She’s also a wriggly sleeper! The best thing I’ve found is fleecy pjs so I don’t have to worry About her being cold when she inevitably kicks the duvet off

Where do you get good fleecy pyjamas please? My 21 month old is exactly the same, hates a sleeping bag but wriggles out from under the duvet about an hour after going to sleep pretty much every night!

Primark do some good, inexpensive fleece ones (although they do tend to shrink in the wash). Also the fleece lined zip sleepsuits (we have to cut the feet off because she hates having her feet in them of course 🙄) from next/Tesco, also randomly Lidl have done some good quality ones. Sainsburys do a 2.5 tog sleepsuit that might be worth looking at too!

We always use Primark fleece pajamas. They have loads and they're only £5

Mine have always had a duvet by that age as they were in a bed.
My second still often wakes up upside down or sideways in her bed and she's 5 😂

Not sure if this is the right thread but figured we are all parents and would love others opinions.

I work full time (single/lone/sole parent), and my daughters nursery have just upped their daily prices by £9. They claim to have rang other nurseries in the area and matched them. It's now £62 per day.

I claim the 30 free hours for my daughter, and my monthly bill (sometimes it's a 5 weekly bill) is usually around £495, with the 30 hours taken into account.

However the nursery no longer stretch the funded hours through the summer holidays, meaning my July/August bill is going to be huge. Last year wasn't too bad as it was prior to this huge increase (well, still a shocking amount to pay!!), but this year it's going to be £1,180. She will start school in September 2024 so I still have another 18 months of this. She has been at this nursery since December 2021, prior to that I was part time and she went to a local childminder.

My question to you all is: Would you move her to a nursery where they stretch the hours, allowing me to keep costs lower all year? She is very settled where she is and has so many friends, plus a great bond with staff members. But I simply do not know how I will afford these summer bills. It may seem easy for some to save for, but for me on just my wage and very little UC, it will cripple me.

I am so stuck on what to do :(

So, if they are no longer stretching it, then you will get less of your bill months apart from July/August?
You should be entitled to extra help with UC to help cover your bills. Are you getting this now to help pay for nursery?

Yes that's correct. I get the help from UC, but this is paid in arrears, meaning when it comes to August I will have to find the 1,180 outright as I don't get much back each month. I am just stuck on how to save that much with 1 wage. All other nurseries in the area stretch the 30 hours over the year, so you get no large bills like this
