I also clear out before Christmas and have a think about where everything will go. It is also the reason I am very fussy about which toys we allow in to the house.
The good news is that the toddler years are the hardest for enormous toys. After that they get smaller!

Chocolate wise I think between the 4 kids we have had in and around 25 selection boxes, and that doesn’t include all the other stuff like quality street etc.
Yeah that’s a good point. Little ones seem to have the bigger toys!! My mil used to get the biggest thing in the shop!!! But I told her not to get him any toys. We only have a small house. We have 5 rooms in the house In total. 2 downstairs and 2 bedrooms & bathroom.
Omg 25 selection boxes!???? That’s mental

This was yesterday! It’s huge.. added track and the other bits that go on. I’d have to get rid of the coffee table if I didn’t have another room. I hate clutter and everything all over so I’m glad 😂😩
I’ll be glad when the tree is gone!! That makes a lot of clutter in our small house. I’m trying to remember he’s only young once so who cares about a bit of mess. We never get any visitors anyway. We always go to other ppls

No room at all here either! Grandparents (in laws) went bleeping mental, like ridiculous. I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I don’t want my kids to be spoilt and it doesn’t help! They don’t need all this stuff! Also no where to put it, our house is busting at the seams as it is, and they *always* pass comment about it being ‘cluttered’ - while buying us more stuff and taking up a house that’s way too big for them when families struggle to climb the ladder because there are few houses available for families 🫠

Yes - find it so incredibly irritating when people buy massive toys for my child without consulting me first. It’s just so weird and presumptive. Like, have I wronged you in some way? Why are you doing this to me?

We have one like this, and now we have another 🫠

Ice cream cart for the win! 3yo has always played with it at friends, but Mr B always said no. He got his wish yesterday, when we gave him and the baby their joint present. Lost a bloody cone already

I made it very clear any big presents will be left at their house this year. Funnily enough they didn’t get any 🤣 although my MIL did actually buy a slide for her garden but didn’t set it up so that will be a job for my partner to do when it gets warmer.

We've lost 2 cards. I was tidying it all away in the little compartments but he saw me do it (rookie error) and went straight for it and lobbed it all out! duck knows how long the rest of the loose parts will last!

I've heard there's a BBQ one as well which is meant to be really good, may have to add that to the birthday wish list in August! I mean if you can't have a BBQ in August, when can you hey?! More plastic toot to add to my house 😂🙈

That's amazing, I buy lots of things second hand but my brother bought ours on black Friday for £30 which I thought was a pretty good buy tbh! It's all a bit over his head at the minute at 16 months but I think it's great with the colours and counting etc.

We've had it for nearly 3 years and we've got about half the parts I think. It still gets played with daily though!

I didn't realise it was such a popular toy, I feel bang on trend, thanks guys! Any other top recommendations, please send my way! X

We got a peppa pig ice cream cart last year and I’ve spent more time picking up the loose parts than she’s played with it. Went to the charity shop two days ago 😂

I loveeee the ice cream cart cos it’s small enough to just fit anywhere but it’s not got TOO many parts! She’s ice cream obsessed anyway 😂

Trying to embrace the chaos because I know that I’ll miss stepping over 100m of racing track in the kitchen and little hands building duplo towers in front of the tv in ten years time when my son is playing his games console and doesn’t want to speak to me… but that’s easier said than done when you’ve just stood on a hot wheels car and almost broken your ankle 😆

Nearly tripped over one of their bike about 20 times in 10 minutes cooking Christmas dinner 🫠
So glad it’s over. I’m exhausted. Does not help that the baby is a Christmas Eve baby, so we have been celebrating from the 23rd onwards 🥱

I nearly went flying on a hot wheels car, I’m lucky I haven’t broke my arm yet with the amount of cars I have lying around 😂

This year I told my in laws that anything they gifted to our child was living at theirs - and I told them AFTER nana had gone bonkers in the toy aisle….. she looked physically sick 🤣 it was glorious! They might think twice next year!
