Bless her. Is she old enough to know how to blow her nose? My friend got her kid to blow their nose and she tested the contents of the tissue and got a positive like that. Best of luck anyway and hopefully she'll escape it.
That’s a really good idea. I wish I’d thought of two years ago 😭😭😭

Oh I feel ya. I’m shattered by then and would rather her be in bed at 7 so I can have an evening and still be in bed for 9 🤣 But I’d much rather just have an hour of calm play and nice time together than getting stressed and upset with it.
Yeah I completely agree. I just led there whilst he messed around on the bed and we read a few books. I didn’t tell him off as I couldn’t be bothered and I guess it’s my fault for trying too early. And it’s not forever is it 😁

any boy mums here I need some advice please??

I am on the phone to the GP but been on hold since 8am 🙄 and have been googling. Last night I was getting my little boy ready for bed when I noticed he had a small white spot on his willy? A bit towards the end. Just looked like a white head. It weren’t causing him any pain and he’s ok in himself, eating and weeing etc but just cos it is on his penis it worried me. I’ve been googling and a lot says about smegma pearls when the penis begins to retract? I was just wondering if anyones had anything similar to put my mind at rest whilst I wait for the doctors to answer the phone (if they ever do) thank you!
We had this exact thing when he was about 2 😊
I had no idea what it was, so I contacted the doctors and they said it's basically what you've said.
Where the foreskin separates.
They went away after a week!

I try and do a 3 part snack taking something from the different food groups

So eg apple, cheese and crackers
Peanut butter on rice cake, banana
Veg sticks, hummus, yoghurt
Toast w/ peanut butter, grapes

They always have a fruit or veg in there, and I try and mix up what they are having throughout the week.
I do similar. Always make sure there is fruit in there. Thanks I’ll try some of those

No advice but it seemed was a phase for us. Lasted a few of months. I tried EVERYTHING. Brought back feeding her in the dark, dummy, black out blinds, no naps before 9:30am Nothing changed, Later bed time, early bed time, shorter naps, changed nap time. It’s like she realised she couldn’t continue 5am with 45 min naps all day with night waking (tummy pain)
We just suddenly started having 1-2 hour naps and waking at 6am. But because I know what’s she’s like I think I’m going to keep her up as late a possible tonight!
It’s so frustrating isn’t it! She’s stopped napping for a good month now thankfully but my word. 5:30am is so early no matter how early I even go to bed! Then I don’t get an evening 😵💫 I’m hoping it’s just a phase.. 🙃

I’m going to ban drinking after 6:30pm, I wonder if she’s waking up cos she’s needing a wee.. her nappies are dry when she wakes up! Do potty trained kid mums/dads wake their child up for a wee at 10pm?

I went through every sleep regression possible. Just leave them too it! I know it’s hard but a lot of development happens overnight, there isn’t anything you can do apart from offer milk and try and resettle them to sleep! Hope it passes soon x
thanks i'm glad i'm not alone, just when you think you've got them into a good routine and then BAM something new happens lol

That’s what I thought with the pants and where we will be home it gives her a bit more time to get used to them and practice. She does the same with her trousers!

I have a travel potty but confused when to use it. I don’t drive so guessing I might have to pull it out on the cycling track when I take her to our big park but that feels so open and not private. I’ve never seen anyone use them in a park before but lots of playgrounds her do not have toilets, so I’ll have to use it then.
We've never used a travel potty. It's always been a behind a Bush trick 😂😂
I do think a potty would've been easier than holding her to sit and pee 😂
So much easier with a boy haha

Just lookng for reassurance and if anyone else has experienced similiar.

My 2.5yo started back at nursery 3x a weeks two weeks ago after being off for the summer. He picked up a nasty cold last week and still has it. Fr the past week at least twice a day he says "I'm tired.". I then ask him if he wants to go to sleep, he says "no, not tired now!", but will then say he's tired a few hours later. He never did this during the summer so wondering if its due to being poorly/back at nursery?

He's eating fine - he literally is hungry all the time as usual and is his happy self. He doesn't say he's tired at nursery, just when he's at home and weekends. I'm just massively health anxious and catastrophizing that something is wrong with him because of this.

Also, for reference he is a crap sleeper. Goes to bed at 8pm - I've tried earlier but he won't have it, and then wakes up at 12 to come into our bed and screams every time we put him back in his bed so he has constant broken sleep.

Has anybody else had similair? I sound crazy, I know!

I’m not a regular contributor to this thread but just wanted to see if ANYONE has any advice for me (before I go mad).
In a nutshell:
My son is 15 months old. Sleeps 6pm till 6.30am every day, so I am aware that’s very good.

BUT he will just not nap in the day for longer than 20 minutes. Could literally set a timer to it. And by 2pm he is so tired and grumpy and does nothing but whinge, moan, whine and cry. Rub his eyes, yawn. He’s fucking insufferable most days.

I’ve tried all the tips I’ve seen online. Including making his bedtime a bit later but he still wakes up at the same time and isn’t making up for it during the day.

When he wakes up from these 20 minute “naps”, he cries. Wakes up in the cot and starts bawling immediately. Google is telling me that’s because he’s likely still tired (no shit!). But nothing gets him back off.

He has white noise on for naps and night time. He also won’t sleep in the buggy or car so it’s super hard on me tbh and I am slowly drowning in stress.

Im a single parent with no help at all.

Health visitor has been useless. Doctors are telling me it’s because he’s got glue ear (but he sleeps fine at night).

i dunno what to do anymore. He’s just woken up now from the classic 20 minutes and is hysterical in his cot. I’m watching him on camera rubbing his eyes, yawning and sobbing.

Sincerely,
A stressed mumma x
What time does he nap during the day? Can you set it back a little bit?
My toddler had glue ear, and he was a good sleeper, so I don’t think that has anything to do with it?!

If two kids are in a tug of war and the other parent isn’t there (assuming your kid had it first and the other child is trying to snatch) I would remove my child. With lots of “I know this isn’t fair and you had it first, and I promise we will keep an eye out for when it’s free again”.

Is it a preschool she goes to? Or a daycare? I know the preschool my kids attend (attached to a primary and taught by a teacher) they simply aren’t allowed to clean them up after an accident. They can give them all the things they need, but aren’t allowed to help them, because of child protection. And again they wouldn’t wipe noses either, it would be up to the child (these are kids in both preschool and their pre-pre year).
That’s weird ? My little one goes to a school based pre school and they change his nappy and wipe his nose whenever he needs? Surely you can’t expect 3 year olds to sort themselves out like that on their own?

Also pregnant with a toddler here and can relate to everything else everyone is saying. My boy is sooo clingy atm and just won’t let my husband do anything 😩 every minor inconvenience is ‘mummy cuddle’ and he now won’t let my husband bath him, read him a story anything so even when he does get home from work I don’t get much reprieve. I am just trying to ride it out but being pregnant and tired some days my patience is just so thin 😩 I think they can definitely sense when you’re pregnant! I just hope things get a bit easier when baby comes 🤞

we are currently toying with the idea of changing from cot to toddler bed as he’s learnt to climb out of the cot and we do have a sleep bag on him but he’s still trying to climb and I’m terrified of him flinging himself over the edge 😬 but my husband thinks he’s still too young for a bed and we’ll regret it! But I think he’ll settle so much easier at night if we do story milk etc in a bed as it’s when we go to put him in the cot now he gets worked up. What age did others transition to bed from cot?
Wow we are the same. My boy is literally all about mummy cuddle mummy cuddle. And wondering if we move him out of the cot too! I’ve been searching for the perfect bedding unfortunately Thomas and friends is not so popular anymore

i don’t mind when my toddler gets in our bed I enjoy the extra cuddles, it’s the not allowing his dad in the bed which I find a bit rough 😂

i resonate with this so much, I’ve been trying to get my 2.5 year old to sleep since 7pm😂
That was me !!!! When he’s at nursery he goes to bed at 630 😭😭😭 and he’s only just gone now and I was trying for well over a hour just wouldn’t settle and being giddy. He was shattered as well so probs over tired

So potty training is going well, better than expected. Big girl knickers are on, I’ve got stickers for her chart and she went to the potty but cos she had pj pants on she went oh no cos I couldn’t get them down in time, but she understood it! So I’ve just left her in knickers now. Any other advice? I think she will get the hang of it..

We are going to the zoo on Friday but what do I do about her needing a wee etc? I don’t want her to have an accident at the zoo (wee or poo) BUT the toilets are few and far between. I’m still going to use a nappy for naptime and bedtime and just concentrate on daytime /awake time dryness first x
You can buy portable potties but we've always just made sure they pee at every chance and schedule heading somewhere to pee often.
Usually it's enough 😊
Take plenty of spare clothes too

My little one turns 3 in a few months and absolutely every nursery we’ve contacted has turned us away as they have no vacancies. I feel absolutely gutted that he’s going to miss out on nursery!
My 4yo missed out on nursery and I still feel bad about it now. Even though she starts school on Monday! It still bugs me!

She was due to have her settling in sessions 2 days after the very first lockdown!
And then they gave us an option to start her in the July when things reopened a bit but we didn't want to send her in the middle of a pandemic.
We considered it, but the week I was talking to them, the nursery had to shut because the manager went in ill and gave all the staff Covid!
So because we didn't send her, we lost our place!
Nowhere else had any places after that!

They won't know if you don't tell them 😊
It won't be pushy 😊
They'll be continuing because they think that's your routine
thanks, I did write in his 'all about me' forms though and we have mentioned in the passing he doesn't have naps anymore. I don't know how I feel about just telling them to stop putting him down for naps, lol

Me again.
So little miss slept fine last night, a bit restless but didn't wake or cry and her temp was normal when she went to bed.
Got her up this morning and she was roasting to touch but her room was reading 26 degrees even with the fan on, and her ear temp was normal so I didn't think too much of it.
Anyway, she's been completely off colour all morning, just laying on the sofa, drifting in and out of sleep since about 10.30am. Drank her milk at 7am but not touched a drop of fluid since, no matter what I offer her. Refuses Calpol and I'm not sure if I want to pin her down and force her! She's extremely hot to touch, almost like a radiator but her skin is goosepimply at times? In ear temp varies from 38.4 to 39.4 but as she's sleeping on her side it's hard to tell if its accurate.
I know people will tell me to get off Tattle and get medical advice but I can't get through to 111 or my doctors. We've been to A&E 3 times already this year for temperatures so I feel like I'll just get laughed at again and told it's just a bug, let it run its course. Hubby is at work and can't leave. Feel like a shit mum because this literally happens every few weeks 😭
Can you strip her down, open window close curtians or blinds. Dap water onto her lips.
