Earlier I was talking to my husband about her jumping on the adhd bandwagon, he's the senco in a secondary school so knows quite a bit about the process of getting a diagnosis and also about behaviours of someone with adhd. He's basically said what she's come out out with is bullshit, it wouldn't have been just normal psychologist that would "diagnosis" it would be a specialist educational psychologist and they most certainly wouldn't just hand out a diagnosis so unprofessionally, after seeing the psychologist they would then refer you back to your gp. Not only is it insanely hard to get a diagnosis for a child it's pretty much impossible to get a diagnosis for someone over the age of 25 whether you go private or not (obviously if you push then its possible) He also said that someone listening to a audio book on x1.5 is crazy, someone with adhd needs to slowly take the information in or their mind just goes no thank you, if he spoke to a pupil with adhd at speed they'd look at him like he had 3 heads.
