I did wonder what was going on there as I assumed she would need some kind of basic level qualification to begin training to be a paramedic. I can only assume she’s hoping to progress to that eventually

Makes no sense. If she wanted to train she could've gone straight into doing an apprenticeship and learned as she earned. Most people decide on their career path and take the relevant steps to get there in as little time as possible. Not take up a cleaning job in the environment they wish to work. Obviously someone could start out cleaning then gain an interest in that area of work and take the steps to progress higher. Regardless of the exact degree needed, she doesn't have it. She likes to romanticise her life and builds things up to be bigger than they really are. We saw that when she fell for the American and planned her life in Texas

Think she mentioned not being able to train yet because of childcare issues.
