CB used threatening language, it was nothing to do with her being a passionate PoC. It would have still been aggressive if it came from a white woman. She has been great about surfacing issues regarding privilege and discrimination which is why I felt very conflicted about unf ollowing. It all felt a bit Cash Carr away to me, her language and tone was bullying and power seeking.

I thought that when I listened to it, I follow her, I think she does great things calling out prejudice, privilege, discrimination etc as you say, BUT how they both came across was agressive and I would say that if they were white/black/brown/green with purple spots. It’s hard though to judge tone and where someone is coming from on the internet, wires will be crossed.

She even ropes in her mother and sister to do the liking in the comments. She admitted so in the wake of the Next scandal. She also asks people in DMs to wade in on discussions in her comments, then argues with them. It’s very carefully constructed but every now and then, the mask slips

I have never done that. Not sure why anyone would actively fuel argument on their feed. It’s anxiety-inducing and takes you away from your family. My sister-in-law helps me with comments sometimes when things kick off, not my mum and sister.

Surely that can't be right that the biggest killer of men under 49 is suicide? I would have thought accidents, heart disease and cancer far outweighed suicide but I could be totally wrong.

I’ve heard a lot of reports that death by suicide is a massive issue for men under 50. There was a big campaign last year (iirc) called ‘save the male’ because of male suicide rates.

Ah wrong relative. But yes you rope in a relative to sort out your insta mess. You also spring up super quick on gossip forums when people start talking about you because now you’ve got a radio job, you probably don’t want people sharing all their experiences they’ve had with you on social media

Not sure I agree with your last sentence @motherofdonkeys and I’ve seen some ill judged comments she has made on other feeds contrasting influencers to magazine advertising and celebrities so I don’t believe she has bought into the need for transparency at all.

Assuming her lifestyle is padded out with a bunch of freebies then it’s insulting to people who don’t have that to suggest that they can get a house like hers, full of West Elm furniture and ripples bathrooms, Aesop soap and designer clothes and put their kids into day nursery on 30 grand a year in London. You can’t! Otherwise more people would do it. She should be costing out what the freebies save her as well, and then what she says re budgeting may be more credible.

Spot on! I commented on her Insta where she falls about ‘money’ that influencers get an awful amount of free stuff that makes renovations or new outfits much more achievable.

She is the worst! Had to unfollow when she posted about locking her son in the toilet to potty train him. As it was ‘the only way’. Absolutely horrific. Endless stories of her children crying and her shouting at them. It’s very clear she prefers her daughter over her twin boys also. Lazy and miserable 24/7!

My friend messaged her and she ‘outed’ her to all her followers and my friend got so many messages agreeing with her saying they wish they had said the same thing! She deactivated her account after for a while. But my god, the state of those poor children it’s shocking!! Feel very sorry for Louie, clearly not looked after properly.

In my office yesterday - full of marketiers, millennials, mummies, supposedly its "right on" target market - not one of us could think a single reason for going to Bestival, other than to take the piss out of that bunch of bell-ends. The insta launch event was mildly addictive in terms of its sheer awfulness and cringe factor. I guess the key turning point will be when one of the Queen Bees kids finally turn into a teenager and they find themselves swiftly disowned for sheer embarrassment. I can't believe those poor [older] Hooper girls aren't tirelessly mocked at school due to the bizarre behaviour of their father (although funnily enough, I do know a couple of families who send their kids to same school in Kent, and rest assured, the MOFODs are constant source of school gate banter and bewilderment amongst fellow parents). Unsurprisingly, he's a total laughing stock (a "prize prick" was one classic quote!). Oh well, I shouldn't think he cares a jot....all part of the (highly lucrative) act, that's paying the school fees!

I can only imagine how much they’re discussed at the school gate. I can’t even believe they do the school run tbh

I lost a work colleague a few years ago. I don’t think any acquaintances of his saw it coming. He was the least likely person you could think of. On the face of it he had everything going for him. Who knows what is going on below the surface?
