Sorry to hear this. Look out for an antiperspirant called DRICLOR. It is used in cases of excessive sweating, hyperhidrosis. You can get it over the counter. But if that doesn't help contact you GP who can prescribe a stronger version.Does anyone else suffer with sweating of the hands quite frequently? I’m pretty insecure about it and was wondering if there are any treatments or anything I can buy to help stop the excess?
Thanks. I have driclor, the roll on applicator one. It doesn’t really do anything for my hands though as they still end up quite sweaty no matter how much I put on. I don’t tend to sweat anywhere else, it’s just my hands that is over excessive which could be down to my anxiety etc. But I didn’t know there was a stronger version of it, so I’ll contact my doctor and ask about that. No, I am the opposite. My hair was thinning, dry papery skin on legs. Mine was diagnosed on a wellwoman blood test. Since taking 150 of Levothyroxine for Hypothyroidism my skin is back to normal and my hair is thickening up.Hypothyroid taking levothyroxine - has anyone noticed hair thinning at all?
No, my hairs always been really thick and quite long so I'm confused as to why it's suddenly started. Noticed it particularly around my fringe and sides of my hair. No, I am the opposite. Was your hair thinning to begin with?
Yep it’s horrible because I used to have such thick hair aswell before I was diagnosed and started taking Levothyroxine. If anyone has any recommendations for how to stop the thinning or any advice to get back some thickness.. I’d really appreciate it!Hypothyroid taking levothyroxine - has anyone noticed hair thinning at all?

I've noticed slight swelling in my ankles but nothing really bad! Getting through to the doctors is ridiculous isn't it. The other day I was number 33 in the queue at 8am! Mental.Have any of you guys had myxedema?
I’m hypothyroid been about two years or so now, the pst few weeks my legs and feet have been swelling at first I thought ah it’s the heatwave it’ll pass but it’s got progressively worse. It’s not pitting. I know I need to see the doc shaepish fighting at 8am for an appointment isn’t an art I’ve conquered yet.
A little bit but my hair was always been quite dry and thinner prior to being diagnosed. If its quite dramatic and noticeable I'd speak with your doctor about checking your medication dose is right.Hypothyroid taking levothyroxine - has anyone noticed hair thinning at all?
Weight was the primary symptom for me. I gained quite a lot despite no changes to lifestyle. It took a few years but I did manage to get it under control and took a good lot of the weight gain off. Its my opinion that even now medicated my body isn't the same as it was before i.e. its more difficult for me to take weight off now.I've noticed slight swelling in my ankles but nothing really bad! Has anyone struggled to lose weight/put weight on thyroid related?
I'm finding this the same with me, seems easier to put on but a nightmare to lose. Literally seems impossibleIts my opinion that even now medicated my body isn't the same as it was before i.e. its more difficult for me to take weight off now.

So I gained weight due to thyroid and then developed mental health issues not long after, due to the thyroid and other life stuff going on so I lost a lot of motivation initially.Hi, if you don’t mind me asking, How did you manage to get your weight back under control?
I’ve cut out junk food, only eat lean meat, fruits and vegetables and I’ve lost 5lb in two months. It’s soul destroying
Even with medication my body isn’t the same as it was before, I totally agree with you. My energy levels some days are non existent, other days absolutely full of energy.
I’ve got the legs of a 70 year old though, aching every night like I’ve run a marathon
i think magnesium can help with muscle aches! but according to this article you need to them at least four hours apart from your thyroid meds. maybe take this with a pinch of salt though bc i'm on amitriptyline and it's never been flagged as a concern https://www.singlecare.com/blog/thyroid-medication-interactions/I’ve got the legs of a 70 year old though, aching every night like I’ve run a marathon
Thanks for replying, and well done on such an impressive weight loss!So I gained weight due to thyroid and then developed mental health issues not long after, due to the thyroid and other life stuff going on so I lost a lot of motivation initially.
Then once I got that more under control I started calorie counting, upped my exercise routine (I walk a lot and gym a few times a week) and that was it really and it worked for me. Very slowly compared to how I've lost weight in the past but I got down from around a UK size 18/20 to a 10/12. Its such a miserable feeling essentially knowing your body is a constant fight with you.
I have tried magnesium before, and they do help. I’ve been using a magnesium spray but it makes your skin tingle and itch like crazy when it’s applied.i think magnesium can help with muscle aches! but according to this article you need to them at least four hours apart from your thyroid meds. maybe take this with a pinch of salt though bc i'm on amitriptyline and it's never been flagged as a concern https://www.singlecare.com/blog/thyroid-medication-interactions/
also, does anyone have experience with low thyroid symptoms, okay thyroid blood work but other abnormal results? they have only tested my thyroid levels for the past few months but did a fbc this time. i have high lymphocytes, high phosphorus and low folate. they did a mono test in the lab and that was neg, and i'm getting more bloods done next week but i think this combo has been causing my symptoms (assuming low folate means high homocysteine). now down a MTHFR mutation rabbit hole ...
