Maybe they all have poor opinions of all the Try Guys so they feel ok to comment 🤷🏼‍♀️

If they liked even one of the guys and they are making comments like that which will effect their branding that it's wrong IMO. But if they are all secretly arseholes then I guess those who used to work with them are happy the "secrets out".

I def don't think it was open marriage. The lads wouldn't have unfollowed him for that.

Idk if anyone has seen it but this guy basically makes the point that Buzzfeed as a company probably contributed to the whole Ned cheating so publicly thing. Ned used to be the head (if I remember right, it's said in the video) of the internship programme which was basically based on exploiting young aspiring adults for content

I'd recommend a listen if anyone enjoyed those Why I Left Buzzfeed videos

Edit - he also ends with a story on Ariel and Ned and how different they were to him after he had been fired from Buzzfeed. Ariel remembered him, Ned somehow didn't

And he's put some weight on (intentionally), there was a long video about him trying to sort his diet out to help with autoimmune illness/chronic pain some time last year.

she did! i think as soon as a creator is able to build a big enough fanbase to go it alone then they run a mile from there - it sounds an incredibly toxic place to work.
I cannot remember if it was her or someone else who said it, but, first of all all the content you make for them is theirs (which I guess is logical, in a way) but also every time you have a review (each year or whatever) if you are not promoted they fire you, you are not allowed to just "stay" in the same position, which seems totally bizarre

Although I believe fully it was a consensual relationship, I can’t help but feel a power imbalance was definitely a factor in the longevity of the affair. It defo put Alex in a situation where perhaps she felt she couldn’t stop lest it affect her career. The above comments about her reaching out to the other guys is a logical thing to do, but let’s be real, who does she think they would believe? Her or the guy they spent 8 years with? Not to mention the embarrassment.
I think it’s very telling that Eugene emphasised how the internet is harsher on women in these situations. There’s definitely a legal issue around it hence why they cautious around Alex and it’s probably the reason they are all still following her on insta, Ariel included.

I suppose since the scandal has died down we are not super interested in these people anymore, but as a new-ish viewer of TTG I’m glad there’s a thread, I’m still paying attention to their content and I Have Thoughts. Here they are!

- I like Kwesi, so do they and he fits nicely.
- I felt for YB. She was always their shit-hot video editor and the overtime she must have put in to cut Ned out of the vids, while still feeling crappy about what was presumably a genuine friendship with Alex, must have been exhausting. What a pro, though I don’t imagine she did it single handed. There’s an entire series of Without A Recipe going out, with Ned cut out of every episode.
- The ‘not in this climate’ thing was actually funny.

I've been following this the entire day

A. I'm not that surprised. I always found the "I love my wife" persona a bit cringy and too much. I've seen people mention that it came off as over compensating and something they've experienced with their cheating ex-partners

B. This seems unpopular but I almost get the sense that they possibly had an open relationship? Ariel's statement is a bit odd and not just because she's basically saying that they will work on the relationship. The story from Reddit also seems to suggest that Ned often flirted with other people in front of the guys and they didn't bat an eye. Just... odd. It's almost like they're mad that he has done this with an employee

C. I've seen people put a lot of weight on the 'consensual relationship' part of the statement and saying that a workplace relationship can't possibly be consensual. I wonder what people's opinions are on this?
I don’t think it was open, at most just the classic case of open marriage where only one them wants to open it up and the other goes along with it to try to save the marriage…

Are they religious? I saw a post that said Ariel took out the wife from her bio…but then Ned writes they work on their marriage and family is the most important for both of them…yeah, so important he’s cheating out in the open and acting like a sleaze.

She was seen out and about with him yesterday, both still wearing wedding rings. Some people think Ned called the paparazzi, as if he’s actually that famous.
Definitely looks to me like they called someone in for PR 🤷🏼‍♀️

just wanted to jump on here, I am so glad Ned is no longer apart of the try guys, he’s the only one I couldn’t stand as he just seemed so fake and overtop with the “my wife” stuff, which is obvious why now! But I am thoroughly enjoying the content without him! Also have very much enjoyed Zack & Maggie’s wedding content on Instagram, glad they posted in real time and shared everything instead of doing what most influencers do and go silent and then do a massive big reveal!

Never liked him. Loved the others especially Keith. Glad he's gone. Shit one on them wasn't there a TV show in the works???

He's a fkn idiot. Especially taking selfies at a Harry styles gig with fans who recognised ariel 😒 obviously was a long affair and finally got too big for his boots

Oh he is fucked from a legal pov. What are they going to do with all the merchandise etc too. They might have to buy him out

Least they can just change to the Tri Guys lol
I would assume they’ll either buy him out or agree a settlement. Or they’ll let him be a silent partner. It depends- their contract may have provided for what happens if one of the four members brings the company into disrepute. It may be that he’s forced to sell for the amount he put in or vice versa.
Ifff the employee makes any allegations (no reason to think she would at this stage) then it’s not actually Ned whose fucked it’s the LLC itself. Again, they might settle but post metoo that’s frowned upon. If Ned’s already out if the company then he’s pretty much home and dry, as we have no reason to think anything criminal’s happened, so it’s just employment law issues.

merch wise. Yeah they’re screwed. But again if they have good contracts - could be that he’s liable for their losses there.

I do feel terrible for the guys. It must be so hard to build something up as a team and for it to end in this way. Even if it’s fairly amicable it’s still so serious and so sad.

LOL. not Zach saying "parasocial relationships are totally cool". The dude wants to make sure the coin keeps flowing because parasocial relationships are their whole business model. Really clever and subtle manipulation.
thank you for saying this!

being a youtuber is always deliberately blurring the lines between you and your fanbase tbh (you need them to be invested in you, or at least the version of you that they see) - they’ve seen that blow up with ned so it was clever manipulation to try and bring that back.

the fonts are similar for sure but ned's just looks like the iphone notes app? it was obviously a statement in response to theirs although the words themselves will have been prepared on advance, just not the format. but grey text / aligned to the left rather than centre is just standard notes app no?

Didn't Zach get engaged? I don't follow them anymore as I find them annoying af but the news got me over here to find the gossip deets!
Yes, there was a big reveal of the relationship and then the engagement fairly shortly afterwards but I have no concept of the timeline tbh. Same as you, I haven't followed them in a couple of years as I got bored of them but my interest was piqued by that headline!

Question from somebody that knew that Try Guys exist but never really followed anything: would you consider the fact that they seperate from him harsh or entirely expected? I get that the personality he portrayed was very "I love my wife" and may have no longer worked and relationships to employees are always grey area, but my initial reaction was really "wow, pretty harsh to get rid of someone for something in his personal life without breaking any laws", you get what I mean?

As for the wifes statement: it means nothing except that she is a responsible mom that puts her kids first and refuses to damage them with more negative stuff on their dad. They may work on their marriage but she may also prepare to dump him as gracefully as possible.
I'm not surprised they separated from him. I think it's important for their brand that they are seen to distance themselves from that behaviour. They all seem quite friendly with April too.
Anyway I've been thinking they probably all signed a contract re not being caught doing anything that would damage the brand - that would make it easier for him to be turfed out presumably.
Wasn't Ned kind of the business brain behind the whole thing? I got the impression the other 3 were the ideas men and the stronger performers if that's the right term?

When will Ned answer the internet? Deathly quiet considering he's been dumped.
