You can do it!Inspired by this thread, I restarted couch 2 5k tonight... for about the fourth time. But I did it nonetheless! Here's hoping I manage to finish it this time!!
I have had the same problem. Rest seems to ease it but it comes back now and then. Ran 5k this morning with no reaction. I have been doing some core strengthening exercises and walked a lot to try and helpDuring couch to 5k, I got terrible calf pain and it prevented me from running the rest of the runI do and have always stretched before and after the run. Does anyone have any other tips? Should I stop running for a while?

Well done, a massive achievement!Guys I did it!!!!!! 5k in under 30 minutes!!!!!
I know this isn’t that impressive but it’s a goal I’ve had for the past 2 years!!!!!
Thank you xxxI hope your family member gets better Xx
I like Emma Abrahamson, TheLongWeighDownWithJess, Lucy BartholomewI know this is more of advice thread but does anyone follow any running influencers on insta? I used to like ProjectMarathonGirl but she got on my nerve during her pregnancy and now shes had her child its like she is the only woman to ever have a baby! I dont mind Kellogs_ontherun but i am curious how her and Welshrunner manage to maintain their lifestyle and 4 kids on influencer income when they don't have massive audiences.
I’ve used resistance bands in the past but to be honest don’t really think they do much!Does anyone else use resistance bands to build strength In their legs? I know I have week glutes, and have been trying to strengthen them for ages but nothing works.
I use 10K runner (has a yellow logo) you have to pay like £7 for a lifetime membership or something but it’s quite good and you can skip ahead if you feel like you’re further than it says and it optimises workouts for you depending on your feedback. I like it!Which app do you use for couch to 10k? I used the bbc one for couch to 5k before, looking to start 10k now but don’t know where to start!
Finally accepted my old sketchers are very past their best (I'm blaming not running much recently on my trainers now being very uncomfy) and so I've ordered a pair of ASIC gel contend - heard good things about them and it was the most affordable (£38 seemed reasonable) so excited to see if they'll make a difference!
Thank youYour doing great, you took the hardest step and got yourself out there, just keep trying and in a few weeks you will thank yourself for perseveringly and trying ever run
I use the aftershock titanium I think. I've had them for a couple of years and they're great.I just looked up bone conductor headphones and they look amazing. Have you got a particular pair you’d recommend? Want to order some. I have been nearly clipped a few times on empty roads!
I get the exact same. I just don’t get why people have such an issue. And more to the point, haven’t they got anything better to do with their time?!
Wow that’s amazing! Good luck to himIt's actually to pass selection into the army! So 3.2km sub 16min with 8kg of weight and then 16km with no weight. I think he's got the sub 16min down pat based on his times so it's a matter of increasing aerobic capacity to make it feel more comfortable and then general endurance to 16+ km.
If anyone here wants a running program I'd be more than happy to write one BTW. I finished uni a few days ago and I'm bored (but very passionate about running)
Um yes HELLO and WELCOME![]()
Virtual runner is great for these. You just need to upload evidence of your run.Are any of you running any virtual races [5 or 10K]? I've never been in a race before and would love to try it but don't really know what happens!
I just looked up bone conductor headphones and they look amazing. Have you got a particular pair you’d recommend? Want to order some. I have been nearly clipped a few times on empty roads!MeI find it’s only certain cars that seem to get annoyed. I wear bone conductor headphones and the brightest running gear and hope for the best. My village is single track so I do get off the road to save aggro. Some just get so close and it felt safer for me to just move in for a few seconds - with a pause to my watch obvs
to be honest I find running in town harder with pedestrians. They seem to hate us even more at the moment.
I get the exact same. I just don’t get why people have such an issue. And more to the point, haven’t they got anything better to do with their time?!Yes, I run on the roads to, some drivers are so rude they even pull in closer to me but I stand my ground and continue to run then I get the horns blastingor they soak me when they go through the puddles
This is so lovely to readHaving avoided running all week, I'm just back from a 5K![]()
Partially to escape how sad Christmas makes me feel, partially for the mental benefits, but mostly to prove to myself that I could.
Hope ye are all doing well and if a poster here hadn't mentioned going on Christmas day last week - it never would have even occurred to me. Cheers for being a nice wee running community![]()
