And easy on the eye.

Something always kicks off when Emily D Baker is travelling. I imagine she will be covering in her live stream tomorrow.
Emily said that she would talk about this on Thursday. so that's good. I can't wait to see what she has to say.

It took over 2 and a half hours for Creighton Waters to read Murdaugh's financial crimes into evidence.

They're auctioning off some of the Murdaugh's furniture today, including Maggie's monogrammed pillows :(

Money certainly can't buy taste...

Just binge watched the new season on Netflix the amount of people at the auction all wanting their stuff. There was a creepy woman that bought the vacuum cleaner and digital cameras, the way she got so excited about finding photos on the SD cards made for some uncomfortable viewing IMO 😳

Oh wow didn't know they'd done another season!

:eek:Watched all 3 eps of the new season last night. Very interesting and well made. Paul was hardly an angel, but didn't deserve to have his dad, of all people, shoot his brains out like that. Imagine being Maggie and seeing your son shot dead by his father

Alex Murdaugh’s former Moselle house back on sale
by: Molly Curley

ISLANDTON, S.C. (WSAV) – The home that once belonged to convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh has been listed for sale again.

A portion of the sprawling property known as Moselle is available for $1.95 million, according to Crosby Land Company’s website.

The entire Moselle property was sold by the same company earlier this year. Two men bought the entire 1,700-acre farm for more than $2.6 million.

The money from that sale went toward Murdaugh’s legal fees, Buster Murdaugh, Palmetto State Bank and victims in the 2019 boat crash that killed Mallory Beach.

“The Moselle Estate House is a unique property that has the capacity to offer a buyer many potential uses such as a family residence or compound, equestrian pursuits, hobby farm, or just a weekend retreat destination,” the listing reads.

The current sale does not include the dog kennels on the property where Murdaugh killed his wife and youngest son, Maggie and Paul, on the night of June 7, 2021. He was found guilty of the killings and given two consecutive life sentences.

Items from the home, including turtle shell lamps and China dishware, were auctioned off back in March.

Holiday Bombshell: Son Of Colleton County Clerk Of Court Arrested For Wiretapping
Jeffrey “Colt” Hill is out on bond …
Written by Andrew Fancher Nov 21, 2023

As millions of Americans prepare their tables for Thanksgiving, one seat within Colleton County, South Carolina could go unoccupied due to an ongoing criminal investigation by the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

On Tuesday — November 21, 2023 — Jeffrey “Colt” Hill was arrested by deputies of the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on one singular count of wiretapping. At 4:28 p.m. EST, the 34-year-old was booked into the Colleton County detention center, according to detainee records.

UPDATE | On Nov. 22, Jeffrey posted a $20,000 personal recognizance bond granted by Colleton County magistrate judge Roosevelt L. Jenkins.

As FITSNews previously reported, SLED was requested by the office of S.C. fourteenth circuit solicitor Duffie Stone to investigate allegations of eavesdropping from within the county administration’s technology department.

The focus of that investigation? Jeffrey, who is currently listed as the county’s technology director.

If you recognize his name from our sweeping and ongoing coverage of the ‘Murdaugh Murders’ crime and corruption saga — it’s likely because his mother is none other than Becky Hill, clerk of court for Colleton County.

Becky oversaw the six-week double murder trial of disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh — and was the very woman who announced his guilt verdicts to the world on March 2, 2023.

Since publishing her memoir — Behind the Doors of Justice: The Murdaugh Murdersand appearing in a Netflix documentary concerning the trial, Becky has been accused by Murdaugh’s attorneys of jury tampering. The allegations, made public by Dick Harpootlian and Jim Griffin in September, were part of their bombshell motion for a new trial.

Becky has since refuted the accusations and retained the counsel of Justin Bamberg and Will Lewis. Bamberg — a fifth-term state lawmaker — is known across the Palmetto State for representing multiple victims of Murdaugh’s admitted financial crimes.

She did not respond to our request for comment on the allegations against her son earlier this month.

According to sources familiar with the ongoing investigation, Jeffrey was accused of illegally recording conversations involving Meagan Utsey — the deputy county administrator who served as liaison between the county and the court during Murdaugh’s trial.

While it’s not immediately clear if Jeffrey’s arrest is related Murdaugh or not — public servants maintain that it does involve his mother. The sources go on to say that Becky was forced to surrender her phone to SLED upon the issuing of a search warrant Tuesday evening.

As with anyone accused of committing a crime, Jeffrey is considered innocent until proven guilty by our criminal justice system – or until such time as he may wish to enter some form of allocution in connection with a plea agreement with prosecutors related to any charge filed against him.

How are there people (on x) that still think he’s innocent… the twists and turns in this story are wild.

I wonder if those of people that feel like the state didn't prove their case? I'm just thinking out loud here.
I think he did kill Maggie and Paul, but I don't think the state necessarily proved their case beyond reasonable doubt.

He was there very shortly before the murders and despite what he says I think he had reasons to (I don't know specifically what they were but possibly the boat case or the financial crimes are potential motives).

The crime and disposal of the evidence all seems to have happened quickly if he did it but I don't think it was impossible and he might have had help (cousin Eddie maybe).

Regardless I do not believe he was a drug addiction and I don't think the stolen money has all been spent. I think it is offshore.

IIRC they found his opiates stashed all over the house and the guy who he tried to get to shoot him was a drug dealer.

I think they did prove he killed Maggie and Paul. He was shown to have lied about his movements that night and the car GPS was crucial evidence of that. And then Paul’s video with ALex’s voice on only a minute or two before he was shot was proof he was with them.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former South Carolina Chief Justice Jean Toal has been picked to preside over convicted murder Alex Murdaugh's efforts to get a new trial.

Tuesday the South Carolina Supreme Court ordered that Toal to take over for Judge Clifton Newman. Newman, who oversaw Murdaugh's murder trial and his state financial crimes trial, asked the court to be removed from the case last month and will retire from being a judge at the end of the month. Murdaugh's attorneys had also requested to remove Newman from the case before he voluntarily stepped away.

In her role, Toal will decide all matters related to the case and will hold jurisdiction even if the venue were to change.

Toal is a trailblazer in South Carolina politics and law, having been the first female state Supreme Court justice in South Carolina history when she joined the bench in 1988. In 2000 she became chief justice, a position she held until 2015 when she retired due to state law that requires judges to retire at age 72.

She also is a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Murdaugh is currently serving a life sentence for killing his wife Maggie and adult son Paul on June 7, 2021 at the family's large estate in Colleton County. A jury convicted Murdaugh on March 2, 2023 of both murders after just three hours of deliberation. A day later, Judge Newman sentenced him to consecutive life sentences.

His attorneys, however, are seeking a new murder trial based on their claim that Colleton County Clerk of Court Rebecca Hill tampered with the jury, making multiple prejudicial remarks. His attorneys said they heard from three jurors who said Hill told some of them not to trust Murdaugh when he testified in his defense. They said the court clerk, in charge of helping jurors and ensuring the trial ran efficiently, also had private conversations with the jury foreperson and pressured jurors to come to a quick verdict.

On Oct. 17, the South Carolina Court of Appeals agreed to put Murdaugh's appeal on hold to allow his attorneys to file a motion for a new trial. The motion was filed a week later, but so far a hearing date has not been set.

Murdaugh has also been convicted and sentenced in federal and state court for scores of financial crimes. He admitted to stealing millions from both his clients and the law firm that his family founded. In November, he was sentenced to 27 years in prison on the financial charges.
