I discovered recently that I find it a massive ick when men are insecure about their height. I mean the kinds of men who are really bitter about it and complain that tall men have an advantage etc. The funny thing is that height doesn't factor into attraction at all for me and both the men I've dated have been short, but as soon as a short man starts whining about 'heightism' it's just an immediate ick

One of my close friends met a guy on a night out a few weeks ago. Started texting and about 3 messages in instead of replying he sent a voice note saying he can't believe she kissed him because she's so beautiful but he really liked it and then a video of himself walking around his living room and talking to her. It was painful to watch.

Just thinking about that is painful, so I can't imagine how much worse it was to watch.

I think it affects me that way because I had a similar experience. I went on a date with a guy I met online - we met in public so it was safe - and had a good chat, but he wasn't really my type. We got back to the car park where we'd both parked (unfortunately) and out of nowhere he hugged and kissed me. I was a bit shocked, but didn't push him away. Then later that evening he text me saying he thought we had a great connection and thanking me for the hug and kiss, even though he'd initiated it?

I felt bad, but I had to send the dreaded "sorry I didn't feel a connection" reply...

this guy i went on a few dates with kept talking about how he's building his own 'empire'. when i asked what it was, he's just trying to buy multiple flats and rent them out. but he ALWAYS refers to it as an 'empire' it makes me cringe so much

A memory came flooding back to me recently, it’s pretty bad I apologise in advance!!

I woke up one morning, a casual boyfriend had stayed over, and on the bedside table was a BIG ball of earwax!! I was horrified and he just said ‘it just came out’
Same guy stayed another night (was I mad??)and I woke up to the most horrendous smell it kept coming and going, he was obviously farting silently in his sleep and smell was like a dead animal, I had to sleep in the spare room. We didn’t last.

I got the ick today in my car. A man aged about 40 rode along on a cycle bike facing my car (I was at temporary traffic lights), and he tried to look cool in front of people and sat back, let go of the handle bars and folded his arms like a show off. Then he had to jolt forward cos he went over a stone and the bike jarred. He nearly fell off in front of everyone. Massive ick

I would say silent farts in your sleep are worse than the awake ones I was once getting together with an ex, both in bed and suddenly the most horrendous eggy fart smell came wafting out… I knew it was him, he knew he had done it, he knew I knew, I knew he knew that I knew… yet we both ignored it Aside from that little eggy starter, it was a fun night

Now I’m at the train station and as I went through the barriers there was a man trying many times to scan his classic orange paper ticket on the contactless card section. It was only when he saw me feed mine into the machine that he realised what he had to do. TERMINAL ICK

One time a few members of the company I worked for went into a local school to talk about different careers in marketing and what day-to-day work would look like.

It was a school people went to when they weren't compatible with mainstream education and some of them were quite vocal and answering back etc.

One of my colleagues started arguing with a teenage girl who must have been about 15 at the time and he was 31. It was just so unbelievably cringe and ick him exchanging these snide remarks with her over the whole day. Like he was 31 what's he doing arguing with a teenager .

A girl from back home has made a joint instagram account for her and her husband and they’re trying to be influencers but all are they being asked to advertise is cranberry juice cocktails, bath bombs and rit like that. It’s like a hybrid home account and trying to become influencers. Their username makes me cringe. Just, stop.

The sister of a girl I went to school with actually did become an influencer, moved to the US, has a husband facing jail time now and is airing dirty laundry on Insta. The entire account, but especially hers is a massive, unwashed, make-up-from-three-weeks-ago ick. The biggest ick for me is that I know the family and that they're all very much not like this daughter and they know the whole world now knows how often she has sex and how she looks after, how she's doing it, etc I'd take cranberry juice adverts over that
