More mealtime Icks with my husband. Asked him to test the pasta and his reply
“It’s nearly done. It’s Al Dante”
Al bleeping Dante? Who is Alan Dante, sounds like he teaches the local Zumba class.

My brother came round for dinner last night and it reminded me of an absolute deal breaker ick if I ever dated someone who does this - he picked up a squeezey bottle of mayonnaise and completely covered his chips to the point you could hardly see the chips, just mayo on top and happily tucked in  Absolutely rank. I feel ashamed to be related to him.
As someone who used to eat mayonnaise sandwiches, I’m not going to judge😬

How about men who are on Mumsnet?

Asking for a friend.

Sorry but mayo is incredible.
Indeed!

Told my husband about people getting the ick from men being comfy. At the time he was "holding a hottie bottie and wearing his nipper-noos".

I love how unreasonable some of these icks are because they're still true...

Grey socks which were once upon a time white. Just get some new socks for the love of god.

Men who refuse to accept their clothes size so they always have a crescent of pale, hairy beer belly peeking out from the bottom of their tshirt.

Men who lick knives or plates or wipe drips off sauce bottles or jugs and eat it. This is not exclusive to men to be fair.

Men who should wear varifocals but don't, resulting in elaborate waving around and lifting of glasses to read something.

Untrimmed nose hair dangling onto a freshly shaved face. If you can't be bothered to trim at least have stubble or a beard so it blends in.

I suspect this is just me, but I actively dislike it when someone shortens the name of someone they’ve only met once (or just know ‘online’).

For example when someone is called Sophie and to try to be ‘pally’, someone calls her ‘Soph’ after one meeting. I see it all the time online when people comment on ‘influencer’ posts ‘Aw bless you Rach, you’re doing great.’

Why are you calling her Rach? Her name is Rachel and you’re not her mate.

Completely irrational, and also absolutely none of my business, but there we go. That is the beauty of the Ick. 😂

Men who are 40+ who wear rolled up jeans with “trendy” bright coloured trainers in a desperate attempt to look young and attract birds. Usually graphic designers, always wankers.

When people say substitute swear words such as "frack" or "mother of pearl" when there are no children about and it wouldn't be really inappropriate to just swear. (If you're in a really serious setting then you control your language completely). Everyone fills in what they really want to say. They know what they're really saying. It's often devoutly religious people as well so they must think God also knows what they're saying, which defeats the point!
