Hold up, so John getting married led to Pete getting married and now Sean getting married leads to him getting engaged? Yeah, this is going to end well.

Erica is an odd one. I understand severe anxiety, I know some people with it, and my understanding of the new DAS pass is it doesn't allow you to wait any less like the old pass. If you walk but to a ride with a 45 minute wait you get to come back in 45 minutes and skip the line. You still wait just as long but you don't stand in line. Do I misunderstand the way it works.

That being said she doesn't really add anything I can tell. The amount of things she hasn't done is astounding. I'm thousands of miles away and have done more in the parks than her and going into the parks isn't part of my job. In every discussion I can predict the "I have never done that" comment before it even forms in her mind.

I don't want to be mean, she sounds like she may have serious issues, but I don't know what she adds to the team let alone the show.

Someone on the boards had mentioned it was weird that Big Pat Panda spent years (decades?) creating that online persona but they don't use it, they call him by his name or just Panda. That seems like pretty bad brand management to me. I picked up on his inability to really disagree with Pete and that loses all credibility to me. Say what you want about Craig, and I do like Craig, he can disagree with Pete without being confrontational which isn't exactly an advanced skill. Knowing how to have a different opinion than your boss and communicate it professionally is something you should learn the first time you ever punch a clock.

New universal show. Craig and Ryno did the new escape room at city walk. On his Instagram, Craig says he’ll go back sometime when he doesn’t need to leave a wife and baby at home. So when will that be? Maybe never? 😂
That's a whole other situation. On the Patreon show he did after the baby was born, he mentioned they are not letting anyone in the house for a few months except the grandparents and they have to wear masks. With the level of RSV/Flu/Covid, I understand being cautious for a newborn, but I have a feeling this will be a struggle for Craig and Kylie to deal with to not build a non-realistic bubble around the child. Even Ryno is not allowed to visit.

I agree with this for sure. I feel Disney and most of the Disney channels are going about this whole thing in a weirdly political way when they just don’t have to at all. It isn’t unusual or unreasonable for a ride to get a new overlay, especially when the subject matter is outdated or the ride is not working functionally. Splash Mountain suffers in both of these areas.
It's pretty unusual for one of the top 3 attractions in the Magic Kingdom to get a complete theme refurbishment. You could make the same argument for Pirates of the Caribbean, Dumbo and Peter Pan too. They all have their issues. Dumbo with its black crows with African American accents, Peter Pan with its portrayal of Native Americans and Pirates of the Caribbean with its treatment of women.

If you look hard enough, you'll find something. I'm surprised there's not more uproar over Aladdin or Pocahontas too. Talk about cultural appropriation. Go read Pocahontas' back story. It's terrible. She wasn't painting all the "Colors of the Wind." She was getting raped by her white captors.

However, just because you like Splash Mountain doesn't make you a racist either. Listening to Disney podcast hosts repeat the politically correct line on the show and pass judgement on those that like the ride or are sad to see it go, makes me cringe. It's just not that simple. Especially knowing damn well they didn't even have opinion on the ride two or three years ago. It was probably in their Top 5.

There's several generations of park goers that had no idea the source material of Splash Mountain. They don't know that "Zip a Dee Doo Dah" was a rip off of an offensive blackface comedic song or the Brer characters come from the Uncle Remus stories that were published by a white author that learned them by listening to black plantation workers.

They just like the ride and enjoyed the ride for what it is—a fun log flume with catchy music. It's a classic to them. It's one of the few rides at Magic Kingdom that's worth standing in long lines for.

I get it. The best way for Disney to win these people over is to blow them out of the water with the re-theme. I just don't think current Disney is up to the task.

We had a copy of the VHS of Song of The South and I saw it many times as a kid. I do not remember anything about it because it just was not good enough to remember even what the plot was about and I feel most people would say the same thing, so the subject matter is definitely dated.
This is how I know you're from the South because we had it too along with the Disney Golden Books about Brer Rabbit and Tar Baby (gasp!).

What's so hilarious about Song of the South, is it's just as you say—it's a long, slow and mediocre film. The only bright parts are James Baskett's endearing acting (he reminds me a lot of my grandpa), the Zip a Dee Doo Dah live action/animation scene and the Brer animated scenes.

No kid today would even make it through the film. They'd be asking to go back to Frozen or Encanto in the first five minutes.

I cross trained at Splash Mountain and the ride itself has a LOT of problems. It broke down constantly, there were water leaks constantly, there were issues with guests taking inappropriate photos on the drop etc. Also, when you do the big drop and go around the corner there’s one more small drop because Disney used 2 different contractors at the same time to get the ride built faster - that spot is where the 2 sides met up….and they didn’t match. So they had to put in the worlds smallest drop. This is a good chance to correct a lot of the issues that this ride had. While I don’t think Princess and the Frog is the best IP Disney has, I think it’s a lot more popular than Song of the South and fits the theme of ‘frontier’ at least as good as Splash Mountain since neither has anything to do with the Frontier.
I just don't think they're going to fix anything. They might do some needed maintenance on the rails and boats, but the the majority of the ride is going to stay the same. They're not going to correct structural issues.

Will they spend money on it? Yeah. I think the Louis animatronic is going to be out of this world ($$$). We're going to see lots of projected background scenes, recovered animatronics, great music and it's finally going to be well lit.

However, they're not going to sand or replace fiberglass or resin.

They don't have the time. This is a major attraction at the Magic Kingdom and park operations want it back open as soon as possible—see Maelstrom. It's going to continue to have major maintenance issues.

It used to be that the last show of the season was like a work Christmas party. Reflecting on the year with a holiday theme.
What the hell was this? Pete, a soft talker who makes no sense, and 2 cardboard cut outs.
Something that bugged me is Erika on the episode. It was very unprofessional to antagonize people who were against the Splash Mountain overlay. She went way too hard on the "I don't care"s and then that smile at the camera.

I even agree that the ride is problematic in nature and re-theming is the best way to go. I just also believe that most people who disagree with it are not racist and just have a different POV. It came off as a "my side won" kind of dunk. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what it looked like to me.

Regardless, it's a bad look for a business that is trying to make money. To contrast, Pete's "wash the racism away" was hilarious because it made light of the situation without attacking the people who disagree. That's the difference, nuance.

Craig coming in sassy today
View attachment 1678912
That was all super uncomfortable when he didn't want to answer. So much tension.

Between that and the "josh is a friend of mine", wanting the camera back on him like some kind of Norma Desmond figure, suggesting Disney listens when he criticises dinners, its all just becoming a bit tedious with the constant self-aggrandising. The double standards are striking too - "most people can't afford disney, they're nickel and diming...but oh I'm staying in Concierge while you plebs struggle to afford to even go.

I know he's joking but calling the finance company "crack dealers" on the DVC show comes across as super-disrespectful too. It demeans their roles tremendously and he just laughs about it and they have to suck it up.

I've said it before - Craig seems a nice guy and is clearly really skilled behind the camera but hasn't got the presence or personality to be on camera in my view. And that's not meant negatively - I wouldn't have either, I can't drone on enough.

Pete is such a terrible human being I'm surprised there aren't more DisUnplugged refugees over here. I would love to know the honest truth about Pete's financial situation, I just don't see the travel agency or social media stuff pulling in that much money to support the over the top spending and flexing

Did anyone catch the part in Tuesday's weekly vlog where Pete got pissy because Craig kept up a picture too long (in Pete's opinion) and wanted the camera on him talking? What an asshole. Can't imagine what he does off camera.
Haven't wasted my time on their show in over a year. Just tired of the rotating faces, the fake enthusiasm, the insane tension between everyone and Pete's constant flaunting of how much wealthier he is than us.

Also, a lot of "new members" to this platform sure are arguing a lot for Craig. Interesting...

Well you can go ahead and cancel the 7 in 7's. Molly done went to all the Walt Disney World resorts in one day, complete with food, resort history, tips and B-roll.
Pete needs to hire better people because that show is sinking. I just watched the Dining review and Ryno Looks like such a miserable motherfucker, move on dude do something else with your life.

She claims/pretends to have "anxiety" and can't stand in lines like a normal person
Wow, I understand having anxiety as a condition and I'm not questioning it. However, I do question taking a job that has you in the parks every day and filming Tik Tok videos if you have this affliction.

Did anyone watch the patreon after show today?

Panda and Ryno were trying to set up a dining review reservation at the start and
Panda said "It may just be me and you. I will try to get her but it may just be us." without saying who he's referring to.
Ryno responds "I don't care if you get her or not. What do you mean try to get her? What is she doing? Isn't this her job? monday through friday? Sorry I'm not trying to be an asshole but I don't get to say no so why does this new person get to say no?"
at this point Craig interrupts and says "we've been on." as panda asks "are we on?" after he starts to say "you would think..."
Ryno says "oh are we on the channel right now?!" "fantastic. now everyone can see what an asshole I really am." "it's true though, I'm gonna say it again. I'm not a liar."
THEN they chat a little bit and Panda says "let's now text Erika speak amongst yourself please."
Teresa says "just tell her, don't ask"
Panda says "no I'm not her boss. Erika likes these things. usually"
Ryno says "Okay...i'm not gonna say it again" and laughs
and then then new commentator says "50's prime time that'll be fun huh?" and Ryno says sarcastically "maybe! It doesn't sound like it right now. I'm difficult, I hate it break it to people." hahahah so it's pretty clear, no one likes Erika.

update: now ryno is saying he doesn't like dining with erika because he can't order the vegan options anymore. You can tell by his face and his body language that he's just trying to cover his ass.

This was a great recap, best Patreon show in a long time. Clearly it is not just the audience that has critiques with her, definitely tension with others on the show! I checked to see if they cut that part out on the replay and it is still on there.

If you didn’t watch and you already don’t like Ryno I guess maybe you could think that; but it really came off like Erika says no to a lot and gets away with it.
You did a great job on the transcript and I don't have any preformed dislike of Ryno.

I just think:

1. If you are a low-level employee like Ryno and you feel a co-worker is not doing their job, its not your job to try and force them to do it, or even worse get another low-level employee to try and force them to do it. You tell your supervisor (admittedly thats probably a tough situation, since Pete is the supervisor, but Ryno chooses to work for Pete most likely because it was Ryno who was able to manipulate his job for a long time....which leads to #2)

2. Its a great irony, that before Erika arrived, it was Ryno that was regularly using his mental health and anxiety to explain his workplace behavior. It feels like Ryno should be the last person who is blasting Erika for her behavior since she attributes much of it to her mental health issues.

Get over yourself Pete! Maybe Deni has goals and dreams she wants to pursue and not defer to your ego or deal with the drama queens you surround business with. If Pete believes the product he puts out is so good he shouldn’t be afraid of a small competitor. On a side note: who wouldn’t want to work at Give Kids the World? What an incredible place with such positivity

Pete Werner, CEO of wdwinfo.com, one of the oldest Disney fan websites, said he thinks the Disney company has neglected its longtime fans and passholders in favor of attracting more casual visitors who generally spend more money per visit.
"The bottom line is 'make more money with fewer people. And we don't care who we price out to do it.' And I'm going to tell you that the quality of the product is less, in my opinion, is less now than it was prior to the pandemic, yet the price has gone up considerably," he said.

@Cinnamon1 That is absolutely correct. 😉 I wonder, however, if he would have responded to anyone else that way?🤔 For example, to someone in the chat or to a Patreon member?🤔 Notwithstanding, he is free to say and do what he wants, but it did appear to be quite snarky in front of the viewers. Yes @dizfan1124 it was quite tense and it did not need to be.😉🫢 Just my opinion.
Honestly, I loved the snark! Maybe, just like us, Craig has had enough with this person who knows nothing about Disney. I’m sure most of us here have done more at Disney World than Erika🤦‍♀️
Also, her bringing up her obsession with Taylor Swift, thinking that was a suitable discussion for the show is insane.

Pete had his blouse unbuttoned seductively on yesterday's vlog showing off a lot of cleavage.

Looking past that, I did agree with many of his thoughts.

A while back Pete announced he was no longer doing the shows and he would rotate hosts. It was years and might have even been pre video. I think it was at the same time he handed over running of wdwinfo to Corey.

I remember that lasting maybe a few months and then he came back. I wish I remembered how long ago that was but I'm thinking pre-2015. I'm not sure if he missed it or realized at the time there was no one capable of hosting the show regularly without him.

If I had my way the show would be Pete, John (with or without Kevin frankly), Theresa, Cathy, Corey, Ryno, and Craig but with him behind the production board. I can't believe no one was capable of getting that show online without Craig a few weeks back. How can Ryno not know how to produce a show after all these years. I have never done any production but I guarantee I could learn everything I need to know in about a month to at least get the thing on the air.
I remember that brief "retirement/transition". It was for a few months, and I recall when he came back he said basically that he didn't realize how much he would miss doing the shows and that it had recharged him. Maybe Rufio knows what was really going on at the time, if not all I have is what Pete said at the time.

Its strange how things butterfly. When whatever happened with John and Kevin's dining reviews happened it sort of set off a chain of events. People would post on the Boards about wanting the Kevin and John reviews and Kevin would reply and basically say talk to Pete, that it was not their decision to stop doing the reviews. From then Kevin slowly lost interest in the shows, and he would start complaining about how he would have to stop what he was doing to drive an hour to Pete's house on Tuesdays for the show etc.etc. Uninterested Kevin is whatever, but John not coming to do the shows clearly hurt the channel, because it just leaves Pete to his own whims, which includes not doing the shows.
