While you technically *can* drink while taking fluoxetine, it’s not recommended as far as I know.

I’m sorry you are feeling this way 💗 Insomnia is a bitch, is there anything you can do to distract yourself and unwind?
No, not really, have suffered it for years, have just got out of bed, felt guilty cos I'm feeling down so have hoovered and mopped floors, am feeling agitated too, another long night for me, thank you ❤ for replying. Hope you're feeling better to.

I've had a bad few days, anxiety has reared its ugly head, I get the physical pains from it, as well as the feeling of dread feelings, I watch alot of TV, and most just pop a pill if they feel like that, I want those those pills , ha ha!!

I finally reached out to my GP that I've been struggling with depression and anxiety - in particular, with my sleeping.

I have been prescribed Sertraline and I've only started taking it for two days. I feel quite sick for a bit a couple of hours afterwards, then have a massive crash in my energy levels at around 3pm. I was thinking of taking it before bed but apparently it can affect sleep so do I stick it out in the mornings or test out evenings?

Yeah i started only yesterday on a low dose, hoping to speak to my GP tomorrow.
🌺 I got lots of anxiety starting with my meds. Brand similar to your meds. It could be that you feel worse for a few days now when you start taking Sertraline again.

It's a tricky one.

I was going through a rough patch as I was recently put on antidepressants and they can make you feel worse for a couple of weeks, and you get bad side effects

I'm seeing someone and things aren't really serious, but I did tell him what was going on with me

He checked in with me, still talked to me etc. But I was conscious not to offload onto him, too. There was one night which was bad and he just talked it through with me.

I don't think it was too taxing on him as it was only a couple of weeks, and now on the pills my wobbles are nowhere near as bad so I'm quite chill - I think it'd be a different story if it was long-term like that

If all of that sounds like too much effort though, I'd suggest you distance yourself for your own mental well-being
Thank you for replying. He tells me how he’s feeling etc and he’s adamant he wants me to stay around but it’s really dragging me down.

So I was on 100mg of sertraline and my doctor recently had it upped to 150mg. Just wondering if anyone has experienced side effects from going up because I think I am.

My GP upped me to 150mg of Sertraline and I was still taking it in the morning. I was asleep by 7pm most evenings and awake from 1am. Ended up making the decision to switch to taking them at night. I keep having very light sleep. I miss my deep sleeping like the dead sleep.
I also started taking mine at night. Did make me feel anxious taking it in the morning.

I feel exactly the same @Pixipoppy, it’s like you’ve described me to a T. Depression is a bitch, but I’m still here just living for little moments of happiness and waiting for some bigger goals. If I can do it, so can you! You are not alone ❤

Yes, that's exactly how I feel! Especially forgetting who I've said what to. Is your memory pretty bad as well? I get so frustrated with myself and others get frustrated with me because I can never remember anything.

I finally plucked up the courage to go to the doctors and they've upped me to 100mg and I'm now on a waiting list for therapy. So I might mention derealisation to them. I hope you are feeling better soon x
My memory isn't great, I think with the pandemic and my mental health and the fact I sleep (or drink) to relax/cope, I really struggle to remember stuff, especially absorbing new information at work. I function quite well outwardly but I feel like I'm losing the plot inside my own head sometimes. I hope you feel better too x

I have a doctors appointment next week but before I sound like a raging alcoholic to them. Can i drink at all with 50mg sertraline? And also the grapefruit thing... what about gin distilled with grapefruit? Most citrus gins are made this way.

I normally only have 1 or 2 gins per week but I am going out with friends in a couple of weeks and im terrified i wont be able to drink. Reason I am terrified is most of my depression is due to ongoing infertility issues so me not drinking on a night out, they will all be asking if I am... 🙄 so at least 1 gin in hand should keep them off my back

I’m better, thanks for asking ❤ Better on the whole, though it deffo alternates between being okay and just wanting a moving car to hit me. Now I’m quite fine, funnily enough, lower dose of Prozac has made me feel better. How are you?

I’m always here if you want to talk 💖 We all feel lonely sometimes, unfortunately it’s what life is like. How are you today?

I know how you feel! I’m very sorry about your brother, I lost my BIL last year and it’s still raw as hell. You are right, it is not hopeless no matter how it feels like. You will get through this and we are all here for you 💗

Does anybody else keep on purposefully pulling their triggers? I know it does not make sense but it’s almost satisfying in some odd way, like picking scabs. My trigger is a certain person who (through no fault of her own, I must admit) fucked me up pretty badly. Yet I often feel the urge to look her up, check her social media, etc. Anybody does the same?
It can be a hard habit to break but If you're just looking at her social media you're not doing any harm. You'll stop when you stop. Are you still in contact with this person?

Sertraline made me feel like that. Everything was just meh and it killed my libido dead. That’s when I changed to Venlafaxine.
does sertraline do that? I’ve been on it a while and my sex drive is nothing like it used to be - I didn’t realise. I’m a bit scared to swap meds because sertraline works for me x

Has the booster shot made anyone else feel very low? I ask as although I’m always lonely and never completely happy, this week I’m crying and feeling hopeless.
mine really messed up my period, I had it for over 2 weeks and I felt really low for the whole time

Does anyone have a gp that doesn’t listen? I know it’s more than ‘just depression’ as he puts it but he won’t refer me to see a psychiatrist to get a definitive diagnosis. I can’t afford to go private as it’s way out of my price range. I feel like I’m stuck in limbo and no one is listening to me.
Can you see another GP?
Contact the practice manager and ask why a referral is out of the question? You have to be a pain in the arse.

Hey i have been depressed for most of my 20s i have tried all different antidepressants I'm on duloxetine 90mg now but feel it makes me blank sometimes and I have 0 sex drive.

I've lost my friends who I introduced to each other over a drunk argument now they are best friends without me. I have no one now except for my boyfriend.

I feel im always self destructive and push people away especially when im drinking.

I want to be a better person but im struggling really bad at the moment.
I’m sorry to hear you struggling. Do you think it’s your drinking that makes you act like that? Have you tried drinking less or doing a dry week/month etc?
Cannot sleep at all. It’s 4am and I’m exhausted but I just cannot shut off. My brain won’t shut up and I’m fed up with it.
I can relate. Do you have insomnia? Have you told you doctor about this?
How do you guys manage with work? My job is currently having a massive impact on how I feel... Everyone keeps saying it'll get better and I have to give it more time but I feel like it's consuming me... Any ideas?
Is your job demanding? Do you WFH or not?

Hey if it helps your not alone!

I'm completely exhausted, I've been prescribed meds by the doctor so hopefully they help take the edge off.
