Still fulminating on
@KiKiGee's post on the chambre Perse.
The wall paper is really,
really good. But it is not feminine, as SJ has interpreted its flowers to be, matching them with Marie Antoinette caca flowers. It is masculine. The only thing right in this room may be the yellow curtains, but I doubt it.
Butch luxe is the way to go on this. I like my idea of the yellow Mark Rothkos; a few scimitars crossed over the fireplace with yummy Toledo Damascene handles, modern lapis lazuli block candlesticks, some heavenly Alhambra-esque small, low, jasmine nosegays.....carved alabaster lions from the fountain of the lions....lose that dead French granny vanity and get a nice faux marbre Parsons table....etc. Creamy colored coarse linen lampshades, cream colored linens with very wide crochet lace on the pillows, looted from a cardinal's alb. Everybody and his brother now makes neutral Persian style rugs, some great deals for the size needed here. Some lapis-colored leather in there for winter....
