I couldn't come up with movie titles. But I did think "The Real Housewives of La Lande."
- Cue the horrible violin intro.
- Natti: Fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me thrice. Nothing more to do.
- Marie: Nobody tells me what to do. Not even my Patreons.
- Philip: *incoherent snorting* Hedgehog *further snorting*
- Sara: I am not an accurate seamstress, but I am an adequate sewer. (She's the villain of the season)
- Stephanie: Life, Love and Laughter... And a lot of Patreons.
I love this! I'm a housewives franchise fan, so I can so see them standing in front of the chateau with just a begging hand out (nothing on it)!

Had to stop watching at the point of Philip singing. Natties day off, from what? And the majority of her vlog was filmed by herself. Philip was to busy? The sketched tiles look terrible. I like the concept of them, but if they were painted and glazed. Maybe they can be digitalized into looking painted.

OMG.....that dress!!!! Why is she wearing such a low-cut dress to open gifts? 😶
It has to be that low cut to show off her miniscule pushed up and together padded boobs. You only need to see her in that pink swimsuit to see just how non-exsistent her boobs are. Its really incredible that she's able to push them up and togher so much.

Definitely, those two are a bit odd. On a side note...I always get a twinge of pain at negative American comments. Yes, I need to toughen that skin. 😭 i suspect it comes from the fact that I have always had a great affection for all things British. The Brit Accents, sarcastic humor, wonderful British TV, cheeky slangs, etc. When my trip across the pond is set, I promise we will spend a ton of $ and not be loud or foolish. ❤
(ok back to lalande)
Sorry for being sometimes a bit critical about those American grannies..but i always say...if i am not like that.... i dont feel offended..I also see a lot of lunatics from The Netherlands appear in the live chat...i dont feel offended at all..all around the world you have nutcases...

Also the audacity of Marie and her enabler is that she does not possess the proper educational background nor the professional expertise to be discussing someone’s mental health. The only one that she can speak for is herself. Can we say we say click bait!
[/QUOTE]

We can. There's a lot of that going on.
And I actually like her foraged road kill bouquets -- both the enterprise and the aesthetic. Well unless its that thing of gorging at the all-you-can-drink free bar mentality.
I read here she talks about pooping and dances around in her underwear. Now that's clickbait. :poop:

Does this mean that she's registered as a self employed florist in UK, planned to work in France and organized flowers deliveries from Netherland to France?

All this looks like madness....
Indeed madness that you can't buy any flowers in France 😭

edit: forgot to say it's their channel
OK, good to know. It looked like 217 was deleted when I searched on YT, which had me wondering. I’ve since learned that the Sara video I was looking for has been deleted, but from her Manor and Maker YT account.

Maybe you are correct.... check vlog ‘what YouTube don’t show you’ time 14:12 and Gerry refers to IJ as telling him to go and photograph his father’s paintings.... why would you say that If he was not Gerry’s father? I think a normal person would have said: Go and photograph SJ’s father or Derek’s paintings. Such a weird lot!!!
I don't think Gerry is Derek's son. For one thing, he would probably be taller. For another, why wouldn't Gerry have a DNA test done? Sorry, doesn't make sense to me. This reminds me of the lead/arsenic debate - where's the proof? There isn't any! Many people, men and women have hair loss for many reasons. Just can't get behind conspiracy theories.

Ok, well, there we go, she has finally enraged me enough to come out of lurking and to start posting. Instead of raging on and regurgitating what has been endlessly repeated on here since the day I started reading here (around thread #2 - those were the times! Came here initially to figure out the name of her first husband. And the first video of hers I ever saw was "How I could afford to buy at age 29" - had me rolling my eyes hard and I wish I would have stopped then, instead of tumbling down her fairytale), I propose a few videos for those actually interested in the French heritage and "Château Life".

  • If you are interested in French castle yt channels with loads of renovation content: Chateau du Theil
(Their financing scheme also seems a bit shaky and yet more transparent than Jarvis's. Big plus: They actually project plan, employ French workers and make huge and fast progress)

  • Also this documentary on several owners in the Loire valley

You'll see that they are all struggling in coming up with ways to finance the upkeep of these buildings - and all the solutions they have developed. (Frankly, I do not mind Jarvis using youtube as an avenue. It changes from weddings and tourism, escpecially since her castle is not very precious, historically speaking. It is more and more the way she goes about it! I so miss these random videos from the early days, published 1.5 years after filming! I digress ) And, you'll also see what a properly restored building looks like. (I don't mind her batshit crazy style of "the ugliest parts of English cottage style intermixed with absurdly expensive cloth in randomly carved out gîtes" - it's rather entertaining and why not, you do not need to keep with original style. It is, however, not restoration. And neither is a pool. Which, why would you need that if you plan on getting the lake back, anyway)

  • In another documentary, again the financial strain is talked about, especially in combination with the emotional baggage when you and your siblings inherit such a building. The videos show how her story is not reliable. Just to be clear: I don't need for her to only focus on project management and financing in her videos. But if she chooses to talk about these kind of things, e.g. how to buy or her monthly running cots or her staff, her information needs to be true.
Thanks for these 2 videos.

These are real people with real life. People with real projects and real plans.

The young man in the first documentary bought this Loire Valley chateau (not the middle of Berry or Mayenne) for 500.000 euros to the commune (town) with an agreement with the municipality : he pays 25.000 euros every year over 20 years.

But he knows what he is doing : his father is a specialist in chateaux renovation.

And now, let's compare with who we know...

I may have misheard but I thought Matt said it was dried on bird/animal dung, he demonstrated how easily it would scrape off. I think that's why he was reluctant to do the job and told them to get new tiles. SJ said she would pressure wash it off. You couldn't pressure wash cement off. Apologies in advance if I misheard.
They are covered in dried bird poo but also have the original cement on the back. They should be scraping the cement off as Matt showed them to and pressure wash them. I think Matt knew there wasn't enough just by looking at the pile and he doesn't know what condition they are in. It's not going to look good if the tiles are chipped.

Another example of SSB not knowing what she is doing and not applying common sense. It took Ian two minutes to figure out how m² of tiles they had, and they don't have enough for the 48m² outbuilding, so they're now going in the 'china pantry'.
'Nattis' apartment will end up with the terracotta tiles or new ones.

I could have swore she said that those tiles were taken from the entrance hall when they had to dig up all the floors.

- and don't forget to include a trip to Wales!
going tomorrow :cool::D 💉 🧜‍♂️💦🏖🐝🐞🌷🌺🦅🕊🐳🐋🐄🐑🐚🐚🌳

Bizarre as all the old lead pipes were replaced in Paris a good 40 years ago.
Are you sure it was lead ?

For the rest of France, lead pipes have been progressively replaced over the years.
Some remote places might still have lead pipes though...like rural châteaux ! 😉

But Stephanie said that they changed all the pipes at the chateau when they arrived 16 years ago.
Or am I wrong ? 🤔
You are correct about the pipes in the chateau. However, the the water main from the well to the house is the pipe in question....

Honestly everyone should get a water test. Especially if you have a well. Wells need regular testing. I filter all water in my home. I use a berky for drinking water. As a homeowner you would think the responsible thing to do would be having the water tested. Especially if you run a B&B and have unpaid slaves I mean volunteers.
The farm run off is never a good situation for well water.

Looks like Trotter is busy with the promise of a new vlog soon. My question, why with all of your extra special recording equipment do you need to stand on top of someone when filming??????

@Jill Scott Seems like he has minimal duties. Thought Stephanie does most of her filming and social media. Amused at your answer, you know so much about what goes on there. 😃

@Jj Roberts Stephanie commented more than once when she announced awhile ago that Phillip was now on staff and what he would be doing. He is doing a lot of the filming now and helping manage the lalande facebook page and instagram account and also moderating the youtube channel. And I suppose whatever else is required. 😄😄😄

They have many projects planned so like anywhere they are managing budgets and projects. Getting quotes enables them to place them on the timeline. The chateau roof is fine. Ian the builder is the one who will do the attic work but is also working on nati and stephanies apartment. Also, the stonemasons working on the terrace are really busy so she cannot just have them carry on with the other work. It is irresponsible not to get quotes. And a lot of the work being done at the moment is about restoring the chateau and insulating it for heat retention which is a major issue.
SJ is going to have to hire this woman as her spokesperson 🤣

I hope she answers ALL of these questions in her “live” on Sunday! Do you hear me Stephanie? You really need to answer these questions and also tell us why you allow the bats to “poo up” the attic and the cellar. And please don’t say that it’s because they are those “special bats”! Or that you want to keep the attic in its original “batty” state. If the cellar bats are indeed a dying breed, they need to be moved 😶
Bats are very protected you can't move them at all.
