He's trying to look like a Scottish laird with his tweed jacket but what a ridiculous embarrassment he must be. Why did she have to play Rule Britannia because they were on the Royal Yacht which just happens to be called Britannia? Most people nowadays find the words of Rule Britannia quite inappropriate as it salutes the British Empire and its connection with slavery. Fanny says she is excited to see her goddaughter; last time she clearly showed her irritation with the poor child.

As I am a direct descendant of ye olde chappie who invented trains, Richard Trevithick (1771 - 1833) and as soon as I realised Fanny and co' were hoping to travel on the Orient Express a few years back, I have been sending subliminal messages out into the ether to dear ole great 'x' uncle Richard in the hopes that he would put various obstacles in Fanny's way and stop her from boarding the Orient Express and the Royal Scotsman. I sit here basking in the reflected glory of a job well done and thank darling Uncle Dickie from the bottom of my heart.

How they had gone from Fergus Ontario to purchasing a Château in France and starting a business. They would not discuss how much they paid for the Château but that with the status of the real estate market in Canada it was pretty much a level exchange.
