@Freesia, I believe the one you got on your arm that has left a scar is the smallpox vaccine. The TB one, if I can remember back that far, didn't hurt at all - I think it was on your forearm, and the nurse at school would look at it a few days after giving it to see if the area was raised or not.
The forearm one is the PPD test to determine reactivity. It verifies if you do or do not have TB. I have to be checked annually due to my job.

eta: that teach me to respond to something without reading ahead to see if someone already has!🤦🏻‍♂️

She looks so much better without the boobs hanging out of a too tight dress. She actually looks normal, but she's not. 😈
She did say her mother had a chest test!!?? I wonder if Fanny has had one!? Surely she would say scan or X-ray..chest test….me thinks another LIE

Good Grief... You'd almost believe she was part of Steel Magnolias. 🙄

Honestly, It's probably something clickbaity as usual...
Sooo...

In actuality, no-one was rushed to hospital.

In fact it took, a flight to the UK, three visits to specialists and a round if tests, another flight to South Africa, then another round of tests before Percy was admitted to hospital to begin his treatment. If that's "rushing" then I'd hate to see how they handle a true emergency.

I feel for the old guy, but stoicism in the face of serious illness is bullshit. What's needed is the patient to fight, what's needed are demands, what's needed are second and third opinions, not acceptance and resignation. To me that's just fatalism. Happily TB of the throat is treatable. According to the NHS, it takes several weeks to 6 months before the person begins to feel better. Fanny says treatment takes "6 to 9 months" but she may of course be using different medical information that the NHS, the American Medical Association and the French Acaémie Nationale de Chirurgie may not be privy to.

Get well soon Percy, and don't allow Fanny and her silliness to aggravate your recovery.

He’s been sick since Egypt??? Did he get it from the camel? Why did SJ say “Percy’s son” & not my step-brother?
I would have also referred to him as "Percy's son" in her situation. It's not like she grew up with him and Izzy and Percy married very late in life. I refer to my stepson as "my husband's son" quite often for the same reasons. He doesn't feel like a son to me because I didn't raise him.

Vaccinations for school aged children in the US are required in some states, not all. I know in California, teachers and any adults, including volunteers in classrooms, must be tested for TB. I was tested every other year and had to show proof that I was negative in order to teach. I don't know about all the other states. TB is on the rise worldwide.

What is Fanny going to do about contacting any BnB guest or others that may have come into contact with Percy at The Dump? Is she legally required to contact people? We all know The Dump is an unhealthy place to begin with, but with dangerous infectious diseases also being present, it probably should be inspected by certified health inspectors. Good place to stay away from!
If you read a bit about it the most likely people would be those in close extended contact with him...his wife will be very lucky not to have gotten it. I don't think those just passing thru are at a big risk and most are vaxxed. What I wonder about is his sons not spotting something very wrong long ago? He has been in SA in the last year for some longer stays. And what is going on with the NHS diagnosing cancer without doing a biopsy and then putting him in line for radiotherapy??? I mean many people would have just had to take that diagnosis...no funds to fly all over. Just crazy what is going on these days in the medical world. At his age this lengthy treatment is going to be very rough.

Here's what I think...

I think we should all wish Percy well and hope he gets better soon, but he and his family should also know that if Percy wants to get better and healthier, he should STAY AWAY as far as possible from that crumbling farmhouse and that pair of hags!

Well said. Hoping for Percy's recovery and well wishes. Considering his age etc.. this will be rough

Ironically, she was pretty tight-lipped about the reason for her own hospital stay
yes that was top secret...still not a clue why she was in there?

she was clear he was sick long before Egypt. I can't believe he took that kind of trip in that condition... I have wondered about him for a long time...so weak sounding but no mention of any illness. I just assumed he had some chronic condition that resulted in that voice.

@Clara Burnett wrote extensively and carefully about the information she had heard -- an alleged ectopic pregnancy, couched in those terms each time she mentioned it.

She could have also said that he has been unwell and is being treated now and looking forward and praying for a full recovery..... but in true Fanny style she has to give a long drawn out story some true....some probably not true... I for one would not want the world to know my private medical problems ...
Yes too much information given when it's not her that's sick. We got no information when she was in hospital, funny that.

In good news, just back from the hospital and can take the sling off! Told to put it back on if/when my arm becomes sore or tired. Can start physio too. Have to wait for (ACC govt accident health) to contact me as they want to put me on a fully funded physio programme, hopefully will be in a few days time. Thats lucky as otherwise each appointment would have a $40 co-pay, still cheap but it all adds up if I have to go a bit.

I think that because it was Fanny doing the explaining that the true nature of what Percy was told has been lost along the way. I am 100% sure that no medical professional would ever tell anyone that they definitely had cancer before all the relevant tests and biopsies had been completed. It is probable that they would talk to you about the possibility that it was cancer and that if this was confirmed what treatment would be necessary. And given that TB of the throat is such a rare disease it would be more likely to be thought that it was cancer until conclusive tests were carried out. So I don’t believe that he was diagnosed with cancer, he was told that it was a likely possibility and that the treatment would be radiotherapy if the biopsy confirmed it.
Whatever, I wish him well as he looks to be very frail to be facing 9 months of treatment.

Fanny is such a liar. How she has been encouraging Percy for tests etc. I’m quite sure his children who are medics will be looking out for their own father,
All Fanny is worried about is herself managing
Patreon day.
I am so pleased he is back in SA and surrounded by sensible medical members of the family. An obviously sick man should have avoided all that flitting around and instead spent his time in peace and trying to gain some strength.
---
Therefore Patreon Day should be cancelled until everyone who has been with Percy is tested. I hope the airlines have been notified.
---
Thank goodness Percy has returned to South Africa he wants to STAY THERE for the rest of his life. Also near his medically educated Children and in the warmth with some decent food.
The Dr son probably found out more about his Dads symptoms / results (many of us have parents who hide the real health truth) and is TB a known problem in S.A. ?
I have just written something similar- I hadnt caught up!

Fed up with falling for clickbait titles by almost everyone I scrolled on by this latest - but unfortunately it was for real. Poor Percy was a shadow of his former self & unable to speak & watching him unravelling on camera was very upsetting. I have no wish atm to watch her vlog at all. Suffice to know he has 2 sons medics in SA so he'll have all the RIGHT care he needs.
My father in law was a Iung specialist a long time ago when TB was rife in this area & the other day I came across his files, ie.beautifully handwritten notebooks with every patient's details & circumstances. So poignant to read of whole families wiped out one after the other, mostly humble people for whom there was no hope. He set up a gov funded prevention clinic but then antibiotics were not tested sufficiently so the 'cure' was essentially to isolate & try to live with better hygiene & food. His family remember the arguments with the wife as he used to spirit away eggs, meat etc to help some of the poorer patients.
@Iolair sorry you felt slighted by my post but concentrate on the first half - indeed I wrote down the first 3 names I liked them so much. Almost all our animals have been rescued or found & the children, not only ours, have always given them names - some weird & wonderful & we have embraced them all, every Tom, Dick & Duilio, so yes, some have been childish.

She-who-shall-remain-nameless said that Stef had an ectopic pregnancy. Remember, at that time Phil ( ) was portrayed as just a volunteer who could upholster furniture :)ROFLMAO:). But as we later find out, he was bonking anything that moved at the tit Show, including Stef.

Phil drove her at night to the hospital and stayed the night in the car, due to covid, restrictions. He later brought her a teddy bear or something to keep her company. Stef posted a photo of her in the hospital bedroom and Tattlers did an in-depth study of her side cabinet and drawer to see what meds she was on, to determine her illness.

So why didn't the son step up sooner? Asking for a Tb of the throat test??? This has been happening since Egypt or before??? Also the US does not vaccinate for Tb ... so everyone in Europe gets vaccinated?? I dont think so... so Dutch boy, Cyprus and Ukraine girl all vaccinated???
Liiiiiiiies!

You only get vaccinated against tbc if one of your parents is coming from a country where TBC is 'active'. TBC vaccine is not one of the standard vaccines in NL. Source; GGD Netherlands 😁

I start thinking, octopus salad is chewy, sweet and coldish, so.....soft, warm and tart. I always like an outrageous second protein dish for special occasions....goat cheese, thyme, and whole boiling onion pie? Clams or oysters on the half shell, plenty of good bread, green salad?
This is a classic Madeleine Kamman recipe, unfortunately directions not included in Amazon pdf:
Amazon product

Directions are
Preheat oven to 375F. Make the pastry. Refrigerate while you make the filling.
Melt 1 T butter in a saucepan, cut crosses in the root of the onions so they don't explode. Add onions, salt, pepper, and stock to saucepan. Cover and cook 15-20 mins.
Cream the remainder of the 1/2 c butter, grate cheese, mix. Add sour cream, eggs, pepper, 1/2 t salt. Blend well.
Roll pastry to fit 10 inch quiche pan.
Raise heat under onions, remove lid, and boil til there is no liquid left in the saucepan.
Arrange the onions in the bottom of the pastry. Bake 20 minutes on the bottom shelf of the oven.
After 20 minutes, pour the cheese mixture on top of the onions, sprinke with thyme, and bake for another 15-20 minutes, until the top of the pie is pale golden. Serve lukewarm with a good salad.
Hell yeah!
Beautiful, traditional and flavoursome!
😍 Thanks @billybudd!

If it’s the clinic I am aware of. Those “specialists” in Cambridge are some of the best in the UK if not worldwide. Something off with the initial cancer diagnosis and it is unethical to say the least, that any medical professional would state cancer without a biopsy… mhhh Fanny why are u so incapable of simply stating facts!! p.s Nice filter Snorts!!

Fanny in another new’ barely there dress’. She did a little twirl for the camera hence the blur!
Really she has been so distracted by poor Percy that she has had to put vlogs out late….

Sickness At the chateau…what a dreadful title. Why not
Percy is ill?

I would agree there definitely is sickness at the chateau but it is not Percy.
It is a deep smelling unpleasant odour of deceit. Show the accounts and get on with the renovations and where is Amoury or is he so upset about Percy he cannot bear to be in camera.

Percy ….and more so Isabel as you read here. Stay in SA keep warm and eat well.

Isn't she always ill when there's work to be done? I wonder if she cancels the dreaded Patreon day?
In this instance, she really should cancel it. Then she should keep her and Snorts ass at that dump and stop all the unnecessary gallivanting around. Don’t bother going to visit Percy in SA. He needs to rest, go through his treatment without any unnecessary stress and simply exist without your stupid self centered ways taking center stage,

Learn from this Fanny. Do what you should at that dump. Use the Patrons money to fix it up, take care of the heating and shore up the building. You are asking for a lot of trouble if someone gets hurt, or worse there because of your negligence and immaturity.

People around you pay the price. Wake up you dumb wench. Grow the f up.
