If you read a bit about it the most likely people would be those in close extended contact with him...his wife will be very lucky not to have gotten it. I don't think those just passing thru are at a big risk and most are vaxxed. What I wonder about is his sons not spotting something very wrong long ago? He has been in SA in the last year for some longer stays. And what is going on with the NHS diagnosing cancer without doing a biopsy and then putting him in line for radiotherapy??? I mean many people would have just had to take that diagnosis...no funds to fly all over. Just crazy what is going on these days in the medical world. At his age this lengthy treatment is going to be very rough.
And remember, we are hearing all of this from Fanny who is not the most reliable and accurate source of information.

If it’s the clinic I am aware of. Those “specialists” in Cambridge are some of the best in the UK if not worldwide. Something off with the initial cancer diagnosis and it is unethical to say the least, that any medical professional would state cancer without a biopsy… mhhh Fanny why are u so incapable of simply stating facts!! p.s Nice filter Snorts!!
agree something off with that story.

I don't think she should cancel Patreons Day. Imagine if you were one of those that went to all the trouble to get a flight, accommodation, a pet sitter, arrange for transportation, etc. at the last minute and paid top dollar. You're screwed if you can't go because the damn thing was cancelled. She has an obligation to go forward with the event. She's not the one who's in the hospital, and she's got her entire posse at the ready to entertain the dupes. I'm sure she would never ever refund anyone for cancelling.

In school I had a labradoodle named Theseus and a hamster named Caligula (vicious little beast, very bitey). Much later a frenchie named for the last queen of France (not MA). There was a cocker spaniel named Jasper for the one in DuMaurier’s Rebecca. Hmmm, also a Sealpoint Siamese named Amalfi along with a Himalayan named HP, which stood for House P*ssy. My boss named him as I was stumped. I’ve lost track of the livestock names over the decades. Except for my gran’s nasty, horrid gander. Mom called him the Ripper. I still have a scarred bum from not being fast enough. Not pretentious at all here.😂
I love little stories like this! 😘 for sharing.

During the Great War, members of my great great grandfather's battalion rescued a puppy from a bombed out French farmhouse. Apparently this poor little soul was "mad with fright" and was taken in by the battalion as their mascot. In true Aussie laconic style, the dog was named "Ici" which of course is French for "here." Ici remained with the battalion, loved and cared for by the troops, until he was returned to his original, and utterly delighted owner, in 1919. The owner kept the name. Ici died in his sleep aged 17, lying by an open fire and sleeping on one of the battalions old Australian Army coats. Members of the battalion kept in touch with Ici's owner and family until WW2 stopped all communication.

Sooo...

In actuality, no-one was rushed to hospital.

In fact it took, a flight to the UK, three visits to specialists and a round if tests, another flight to South Africa, then another round of tests before Percy was admitted to hospital to begin his treatment. If that's "rushing" then I'd hate to see how they handle a true emergency.

I feel for the old guy, but stoicism in the face of serious illness is bullshit. What's needed is the patient to fight, what's needed are demands, what's needed are second and third opinions, not acceptance and resignation. To me that's just fatalism. Happily TB of the throat is treatable. According to the NHS, it takes several weeks to 6 months before the person begins to feel better. Fanny says treatment takes "6 to 9 months" but she may of course be using different medical information that the NHS, the American Medical Association and the French Acaémie Nationale de Chirurgie may not be privy to.

Get well soon Percy, and don't allow Fanny and her silliness to aggravate your recovery.
Fanny needs to hire a fact checker like Meghan Markke has, she can't remember everything that's true all the time!

All the best to Percy!

There's always an exception.....my teacher half-brother contracted TB from a late teen student who had returned from a high TB country, on the school bus. He was close to death and his recovery has never been complete.
Stephanie Jarvis is fudging again, her story isn't honest. Percy, being from SA, would have been under the radar for TB.

Flying from SA to the UK to France to the UK.... BACK to SA with airborne TB... great. Will Isobelle get it?
To be fair, according to Fanny, he had been diagnosed with cancer and would have been unaware that he was the carrier of something infectious. It is the specialist in the UK I am astounded about. Surely some infection would have shown up in blood tests or taking samples of sputum or cells from the cheek? How do you diagnose cancer without doing a blood check? Percy had been to Egypt and South Africa. Was he not vaccinated? It all seems very odd that he left the UK with the recommendation he seek radiotherapy in South Africa with a serious infection and a cancer diagnosis.

Where's the tits? How come the tits are put away?
If you are Fanny you don't get your tits out for bad news - unless it is that she has broken up with her bf and is back on the market.

I was under the impression - although I have nothing to back it with - that Fanny suggested she and Gerry staged an intervention and arranged for him to see someone privately in Cambridge but that it would be a wait for radiation under the NHS. But either way, I did not think they gave a cancer diagnosis until they were sure it was cancer. I would want to know (especially if I was Percy), what tests were done before the diagnosis was delivered.

again...it is all strange....but seriously giving someone a cancer diagnosis and wait for radio therapy ...just imagine the torture that they all went thru.

I was just reading about how high the incidence of TB is in South Africa. Again just asking a few questions about travel in the last year could have given the UK docs a clue. If they could have taken Percy in for radio therapy immediately he would have started that treatment. This is such a lesson to get second opinions on everything.

I’m sorry but it is highly unlikely this actually occurred as per the explanation from Fanny. The biopsy would have been absolutely mandatory prior to any treatment. The doc was most likely simply adding Percy to the waiting list in the event of anything serious. She has shamefully twisted what was potentially an intelligent medical decision in to some story this was not!!! Watch ur mouth Fanny! Dangerous ignorant woman.

Absolutely. Thw whole story is a sham. Lies .Fudging timelines and travel.
It's all preparation for her future travel. Btw does covid make Tb infection more likely?
In other news Kat must be on her way as Dan the man has bought a matress for the yurt!

Whether Percy's illness is a sham or not, at his age and condition, Percy shouldn't be working and traveling too much anymore. It would be best for him to stay in SA close to his family, instead of Lalande where he essentially functions as SJ and Isabelle's unpaid errand boy. Make the paid errand gay work for his money.

Many of you have heard, my dad has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. After specialists, PET scan & a biopsy, stage 3a. Perhaps people had concerns that Percy had cancer, but there is no diagnosis before the biopsy. I’m happy Percy doesn’t have cancer, Stephanie should throw him a garden party in his honor and not visit him in SA.❤

how old is Percy? At times seeing him doing some of the work around there I really questioned what was going on as he appeared more and more frail. Living in that damp place with all those stairs....agree stay in SA and if Isabelle wants to be with him it is there. Also I was shocked to see him flying off to SA on his own for some "business" and I said to myself...is this guy not retired?

Well I hate to defend Fanny, but she's not too bright. So I'm thinking she just didn't understand everything and is just making the details up prior to the TB diagnoses. It would have been too hard to really listen to all the details, especially when it's not about her.

Interrupting TB gate to say I just watched Dan's latest. I'm usually a Danfender, but the disrespect he shows his patrons and the equipment they help pay for is a big turn off. He's lucky that scaffolding didn't sustain more damage from his carelessness.

Like me, you will remember the Heaf tests at school. We used to call it a Daisy test or Six needles! They would come back and read the test a day or two later to see if you had a positive reaction.
Working at a large medical center until the late 90s (non-medical field) we were tested yearly. I think they still do.
