I'm here in quiet season with low numbers of tourists but each night I have had broken sleep with noise outside from tourists up to 3 or 4am and shortly afterward from locals getting set up for day. Venice is FULL of mask selling shops, Murano glass from ear studs to chandeliers and gift shops with magnets of masks and Murano. I did enjoy a visit to the gondola boatyard where they repair and build them (35k euro). I also visited La Fenice the opera house, strange a trained opera singer never mentioned it. Interestingly I haven't seen a hot dog establishment, maybe it closed down since Ollie and PJ's visit.

Monique Gin A patron commented that the surveys of the Chapel and Grand Salon are not finished. Once the surveys are finished, a decision can be made on what repairs happen when. Amaury has plenty of work on his list, as he could do the Grand Salon repairs like he has done in the past on antique wood..B&B repairs are probably at the top of the list after the heating project, so the B&B season can open on time.

The last time I stayed in Venice I got up at around 6am and went out exploring with my camera.
