I seem to recall a fairly recent vlog where she talks about the winner of the "scholarship" and says that they had agreed to be filmed. I notice that Vile-otti appears to discount the one who did not agree to be filmed, saying that they would try to secure separate funding for them. In other words, if you will not let us exploit you, you can kiss goodbye to any ideas of this PR funding.

I’m with you on this @stefanieeee, I’ve been here 3 weeks’ish and am still trying to find my feet and judge the tone. I get triggered and rant then think I went in too hard. What I’ve gathered is with lots of decoy accounts suspicions are always aroused. Always use the search bar. If you’re highly sensitive don’t take anything to heart (probably 99% isn’t personal) and that it can be unnerving being a newbie merging into the shoal. We are here because we have one common disdain for SJ for multiple grubby reasons so being able to banter or not we all contribute in our own way

I get the frustration for not being recognized here right from the start for having good intentions. I'm not going into it much, but would like to point out everything is not as innocent as it seems here, it's not just cosy chit chat. The stakes are high for the grifters and they are willing to defend their 'income' to the max, which also involves bullying and social pressure. It can get really nasty quickly.
For me, understanding how threatening things can get and how important a good defense is, made me develop a thicker skin for the insulting words words and suspicions sometimes thrown at me.
No, that's the point. Yes, they agreed to be filmed (most of them). What she doesn't tell us is that they did NOT consent to be on YouTube where viewership money is made from their videos. For me, that's duplicitous, lying about consent when the only consent was their agreement to be filmed. It IS exploitive as the applicants are not in a position to protest. Those young people will continue to make viewership money for the school while they struggle to subsist. Moreover, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that the Jarvises arranged a cut from the viewership pot for themselves.
It is an uncomfortable subject that I find most Tattlers shrinking from for whatever reason, so thank you for asking about it. My posts might seem overly alarmist or accusatory or whatever, but really I'm just venting and I have no real idea about trying to persuade others to agree; I vent for myself.

First thing you should realize is that the grifters earn a great deal of money and are willing to defend that 'income' from the threat us Tattlers form to that. That should also make you aware people are guarding their safety here. There's no reason to shout, or expect the royal treatment to be personally informed by any tattler present here. A great deal of self-sustainability and effort is expected of you if you want to participate. If not, then I suppose this forum is indeed not for you.

I think in these Covid times maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Advice for those coming in 'you must quarantine for 10 days immediately after returning to the Netherlands. If you get tested on day 5 you might be able to shorten the quarantine period.' If he flies in he would need to have had Covid tests done. And on return he'll need to get tested again. It's not clear about whether he will have to self isolate when he comes back from what I can see.
I think your analysis of SJ is spot on. I think she comes across as desperately insecure and that has caused her to become passive aggressive. She tries to hide her aggression and jealousy of others with her veneer of being a friendly, jolly "housemistress". However, this insecurity does not absolve her of the harm she is doing to others or of her grabbing, acquisitive and entitled character. She may have been ignored by her mother and over-compensated by her father and I guess she may have been bullied by school peers who would not have found her likeable but nothing excuses the way she behaves and the way she manages to squeeze money out of her supporters to fund her lifestyle. She is totally self-obsessed and has no real empathy for anyone else at all.

You are right and accurate. It's not all about what he HAS to do though, there's also an appeal on common sense to be made. The threat is real and terrible and should not be laughed away, like they do.
Yes. Agreeing to be filmed is not the same thing as agreeing to have your film on YouTube where the school can make money from your video. They did NOT secure that consent from applicants and I think Spero's own weasel-words show that, as well. Therein lies the deception. It IS a source of frustration for me that some don't seem to understand this distinction and are allowing themselves to be duped, but I've been as clear as I can be about it.

In looking into the application process on YT, I learned that Stephanie lied to us and that in fact, the applicants had NOT been asked for, nor had they given their consent to be filmed in a 30-part YouTube video series, which would benefit Stephanie, Isabelle and Percy reputationally as 'philanthropists' and benefit the school financially through monies raised from YT viewership. The applicants themselves would not be paid for their appearance in the videos in which they were made to open up about their lives of extreme poverty. In recompense, one person would be chosen and given tuition monies, however, she and her family are literally so poor that they cannot afford food or transportation. On the occasion the winner was announced, the school director made great fanfare in awarding-- wait for it--a dinner voucher to the emotional mother, who had no money to feed her family. And there's Percy and Isabelle preening on Facetime on a tablet on the conference table, and our Stephanie on Facetime on a cellphone, the Great White Benefactresses of South Africa, taking credit! How perverse and grotesque can one be? This video series is cruelly named "UNPICKED" (all caps), and as viewers of "Chateau Unwrapped!" we are all complicit in this outrageous, and yes, racist exploitation. So, learning about this and her history with Marie really set me up for today’s vlog, and frankly, I was embarrassed by the intensity of my own response. (Also, I need to edit BEFORE I post, not after.) No regrets, but I need to take a step back, myself!
Too much reliance on the Covid tests. All they prove is that you are not shedding virus at that moment in time. You may have just been exposed (shopping, travel etc) and there is a period before you show symptoms (if any).
The masks are to protect others from you, not you from the virus. IJ wearing a mask when nobody else was, was of no benefit to her.
