You beat me to it
Here is some speculative food for thought:
Pervy daddy Derek had just done it with the nursing home in England, bought it cheap, renovated it, ran it as a nursing home, made a big profit, and then sold it all to move on to other ventures. Was it a tax move to buy the London apartments in Fannys name and not as she says, an early inheritance but a tax evasion/minimization move? And then flip one of the London apartments on her name to buy half of the Dump?
Daddy Derek did not have enough money in his pocket to buy the Dump himself, fix it up and sell it, so he got Fanny to sell an apartment to go towards the Dump, and recruited Baghead to invest in the purchase of half the Dump, and then he would provide the other third of the money to fix the Dump and flip it for profit and make a killing, just like he and Isabelle did with the English nursing home?
Is Baghead a relative who went in on the 50% of the Dump as a business move to flip it and earn a profit? And that is why Baghead got a mortgage for his half ( intending to pay it off when the Dump sold for a profit?).
So, here are 2 scenarios:
1. Daddy derek was going to pay for renovations with his money from some undisclosed source. And when he died, the source of the funding ended. Didn’t he retire early because of an accident/ ill health/ disability. Isabelle has essentially said that the business ventures that Derek was involved in ended with his death, e.g, possibly the money source ended. Was Derek collecting money for his ill health/ disability/ accident from a policy/settlement/ annuity of some sort that ended with his death? OR was the business venture flipping the Dump and 2. happened.
2. Daddy Derek wasted money and was doing a
tit job with renovations, cutting corners like not following safety rules, codes, regulations, not hiring architects/building specialists, etc. and half assed jobs himself. He underestimated the amount of monies it would take to renovate and restore the Dump ( and thought it was like fixing up the English retirement home building) and it took much longer than expected. So he blew all the money he had allocated to the Dump ( a specific amount that would not affect his and Isabelle’s ability to keep the home in England, buy a home in South Africa, and he was free to paint, travel, and renovate, and they both could withdraw monies from retirement savings/stocks/programs, etc.The Dump was to be used as a temporary playground /debauchery pad until it was renovated and sold for a big profit.
But Daddy Derek got in over his head, had no more big chunks of money to spend on the Dump, and his half assed efforts at renovating and restoring the Dump came to a halt, Bagheads parents paid off his mortgage, and then Derek suddenly died, with the business venture of flipping the Dump coming to a grinding halt as a result of his death. Maybe there was a life insurance policy that paid out to isabelle and/or Fanny. Isabelle refused to spend any more money on the Dump thru selling a home, apartment, dipping into savings, etc. So the Dump continued to deteriorate over the next decade. The Dump was worth less after renovations than it was when first purchased.
Isabelle was left with whatever money was in her name or retirement plans/stocks, etc the home in England which she rents, the apartment in France which she rents, and the home in South Africa which she rents. Isabelle split her year between the Dump, England, and South Africa. When she met freshly widowed Percy who had made lots of money, Isabelle quickly dumped her current companion and became a couple with him, and married him several years later, providing her with some additional financial security (even though the chunk of his money would likely go to his kids)
F4F was left with some money from her divorce, and the rent money from some of the following: the London apartment, the England home, apartment in France, and South African home. The whole I wanted to be a princess story was concocted to cover up Daddy Derek’s failed business venture and to get people to feel sorry for the little orphan princess and her life of grifting based out of her part time residency in the Dump. F4F would never sell the London apartment in her name to put towards renovating the Dump so the Dump was left essentially to rot, being patched up only in emergency situations.
Remember that all of the Jarvis crew lie easily, frequently and without remorse.
Where is Gerry’s piece of of the Daddy Derek pie? Was it money invested in his taxi business?
