I'm happy to share information and expertise which other people can use themselves or use as a starting point for their own research but.... I've changed my mind. Going the technical route is really long-winded and tricky. I'm just going to try and engage someone who has a smallish YouTube channel who deals specifically with gifting and scams. If he and his friends decide to take the bit between their teeth and run with it they have all the necessary château videos on YouTube to research and they can get the back story from here. At least something positive will be done to put pressure on to stop the scams.

I think SJ, through her shenanigans, may just have put all the château channels onto the radar as far as the tax authority is concerned. If I had a château channel I'd be livid.

From what I read briefly on associations they have officers. The members vote in the officers at the AGM. I wonder if that is a reason for changing members to benefactors? Theoretically, if the association had an AGM and sufficient members attended, then they could vote out IJ, SJ and Gnati and replace them with other members. This would be a disaster for her because she'd lose control over the money. It would have been good for the chateau as the funds would go where they're meant to. Not that I'm saying she's has done anything untoward because we don't know, nothing is transparent and when finances aren't transparent it leads to speculation which is what we are doing now. Just show the accounts and the speculation ends. Instantly.

You are correct. Board Members are nominated by the Members at the AGM. Those that are nominated do a quick intro about themselves explaining why they should be nominated and how they would benefit the Association. The Members vote. The Accountants then tally the votes and states who the New Board Members are. They then all meet and are presented with a huge binder of the Associations Laws. The Association then has monthly meetings with Board Members in attendance. Any items on the Agenda have to be voted on and recoded. These monthly meeting always have a Financial Report that has to be voted on as well.
( you should investigate my previous employer. She steals and takes advantage of board members who do not understand )

Have I understood that after all this build-up with your legal team and lawyers, you've swerved off and changed tactics? ...did they say it wasn't worth it or it would have cost you in legal fees?

So true!
Fanny has that attitude of many people who call themselves philanthropic. Picking and choosing who 'they deem to be deserving' of bestowing their charity upon instead of paying into the pot for everyone. I'm probably getting too political here so I'll pipe down but I bloody hate this attitude.

And the authorities will definitely look into it using every tool at their disposal including this site. So I thought that was probably the more efficient, cheaper and effective way to go about it. You are right, a group of patrons who were affected by the change from members to benefactors would have been much better but realistically it ain't gonna happen.
I'm fully aware that Fanny reads here or at least an acolyte of hers does. I'm all for that. Legally, Fanny can't just rewind her association without informing the members who joined thinking that they were members of the association.
What we are doing here is actually giving her an opportunity to pre-empt us and on her own volition come clean and be transparent. If she doesn't do that then that's her own choice and if/when the whole mess explodes then she has been the author of her own destruction. And her mother's because IJ is the principle officer and the buck stops with IJ.
A personality like Fanny will never accept the blame. It will always be someone else. She has probably managed to wriggle out of most things as she's grifted her way through life... This might turn out to be different. Let's see.
Now we seem to be unpeeling the layers of this particular oignon, light starts shining through. A case in point is the chapel. If you remember there was much discussion on how the chapel restorer waited for IJ to be present at the meeting with Fanny? Well maybe he insisted on that because as Principle Officer she has the final say. Who knows, but we can only speculate in the absence of transparency.
There could possibly be an excuse to wind up the association by saying that it never had it's own bank account, never properly operated. That might be be acceptable. I'd probably try that tactic for a client of mine. However, I would be mindful that the public were invited to join as members and some had. A quick forensic look at how many people joined during the period that she was offering membership on the patreon account would show us exactly how many members fell for that. Bear in mind that ALL patron members had that status as the ones that were already patrons were automatically upgraded. So all patrons have been affected by the surreptitious downgrade.

Was Davy not at the patron day because all gardening came to a screeching halt because he was being paid out of association funds and it's not allowed? Maybe.

Is the pergola unfinished because of the same reason? Probably.

And so it goes on but at least we can start connecting the dots. And until there's transparency then I'll certainly continue speculating. Sure is getting interesting.

The Hiding Place is a must read. I read it when I was younger, and then reread it a few years ago, and I had forgotten the age Corrie and her sister were when they went into the camp, I always assumed they were younger women, but they were in their early 50s (if I'm remembering correctly) and being that age now myself I cannot imagine working like they did and what they went through.

From what I've read the area of Creuse helped 1000s of people, not necessarily that they were all helped at Dan's Derelict Digs.

Yes they were both middle aged women in their 50's....Corrie has written a number of books, I've not read any others but based on this one I think I will. One is about her father called Father Ten Boom, Gods man, One is called In my father house and the other is called woman for the Lord, there are others too. I wouldn't define myself as religious, I probably have a more spiritual belief with regard to everything Universal and yet there are days when I hear of such horror stories in the world I do question the reasons why? So to read about a family that have unfaltering faith, trusting that everything is happening for a reason and providing us with lessons to share and enhance the lives of others is truly inspirational. She herself found it difficult at times but through her sisters eyes she was able to see differently. I respect that people have their own beliefs but i think as long as we have hope we are doing ok.

I would like to thank everyone for the care and empathy they have shown regarding my brother in law. As it is his life and my sister’s I do not want to share too much, but I thank each and everyone here. It means a great deal. Thank you.

I’m doing a Fanny and lying in bed having succumbed to the Rona. I blame Monsieur de P as he was struck down last Friday. Anyway with nothing better to do I have scrolled through all the messages from the last CD. Nearly all of them are positive and glowing in their sympathy to Fanny for HER loss? saying what a touching tribute she has made to Ian with just a couple questioning her bad taste in the thumbnail. Here is just one of the hundreds of sycophantic messages.

“ How very touching that you had the strength and fortitude to push forward with painting the tower... It looks amazing AND what a beautiful tribute to your wonderful friend, Ian”.

Reading these I am at a loss as to why so many people are not seeing what I see which leads me to question my judgement and wonder who is right. Is she a vivacious lady loving life and exuding happiness to all who follow her and how am I not seeing this as well?
