The sad thing is that SJ thinks she’s trying to save the chateau, but in the wrong way…or she has no idea what she’s doing. So many times we’ve watched jobs that are botched or done half-way. Fundamental issues not addressed. More about looks than actual fixes. So, the chateau slowly decays but SJ doesn’t see it. I guess, in that way, it’s like the two Edies…letting their home crumble and not really seeing it.

The day will come where she or whoever comes after her has to sell the place and the first thing the new owners will do is get rid off the “quirky” interior like the downstairs loo, the expensive wallpaper or the wedgewood things stuck to the wall. All the energy and money they’re spending now is completely worthless to anyone else and will go up in smoke the second she leaves the place. It’s such an unsustainable approach considering that she wants to save the chateau.

Billy the deserter fixing the roof will be an ongoing affair for as long as they own the house. It is a dying art, so I'm glad he showed the process for other homeowners out there.

indeed, in my opinion he better could use those 500000 for completely renovating that roof...now he has to go up after every storm..all those old hooks are gone..then to buy another moneypitt..to even have that cherrypicker from the chateau to the convent and back is a huge task...he not only needs to buy another cherrypicker but a truck too...and some one who can drive it...

Have to say his music choice is very interesting so to speak...that countrymusic is totally not fitting for a chateauvlog..

Billies repeated question for new volunteers isnt really going well..not even the curtainguy is coming back...

Yesterday's Cadeau left me very sad, I could relate to the stories, having lost one parent in similar circumstances, but why write to Stephanie about it? Did they not find confort in real life? I feel sorry for them. And why is Stephanie exploiting these personal tragedies to appear as a new mother Theresa? And am I over sensitive, or was PJ even louder than usual from behind the tripod?

there was even one person pointing out she had no penny to spend...why send gifts?? the postage alone is a fortune..

it just looks like some people clear out their closet ..put it in a box and sent it off to Lalaland..what a lott of crap.. who send his old clothes to there??

Just watched the statue found at Basmaignée. Very interesting indeed. They look medieval (late Middle Age) and still have some of their paint (statues, churches and cathedrals were all painted in very colorful way during the Middle Age).

Now they are supposed to declare their findings to the local prefecture and/or the local museums for archeology and local history purposes. Let's hope Gwen will know and do it. But I have my doubt... A shame as they could find out what it was.

Why do people want to know who will inherit Lalande ? Why do they think it'll be Antoine ?
Do we know if Nic and Marie are married ? Even if they are, Lalande has 3 owners who have relatives and family (cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts etc) who will all have a share in the chateau too.

He absoluteh has . He is so sweet and to think one day when grown he will have a part in ownership of Chateau de Lalande. He loves it ther and wil have all of these memories of growing up there at least part time!

So, she has given 23,000 Euros to charities from the Gift Grabs and hence she is basking in the glory and feeling so smug and self-congraulatory. Does she ever stop to think how much money could be sent directly to charities in the senders' own countries? With the amount they spend on postage and packing as well as on the gifts, it could well be the same or more than that amount. If people are not actually buying gifts for her but wasting a fortune on posting her their old/unwanted possessions, those could be sold by the owners and the money given to charity or the items taken directly to a charity shop. She thinks the donations she is making absolve her from the greed and materialism of accepting the gifts. In my opinion, it does not. Those vlogs expose her for what she is, a spoilt hedonist, collecting as many material possessions as she can and the more expensive and flashy, the better. It also taints the other residents and guests who appear in those videos. Last night, Maaike's mother was really begging for the kimono and it made her look bad. SJ really needs to put a stop to that nonsense. She would also save herself a great deal of customs charges. No other chateau owners receive anything like the excessive amount of gifts that she does. They may get sent the odd present but they are nowhere near as acquisitive and greedy for it as she is. It all puts her in an extremely bad light. I can only imagine how smug she will be when she finds a South African cause to donate to as she promised to in last night's fiasco. Also, the thought of her and Villiotti together doesn't bear thinking about. I just hope they don't parade that poor student showing her gratitude to the charlatan chatelaine.

French Architect and Interior Designer Jacques Garcia Chateau du Champ-de-Bataille, Normandy AMAZING and not furnished via Stephs charity shop finds.
The bedroom amused me with its sacred barrier in front of bed Steph must get one, just imagine Snorts pleading to be let through.
The display of China on corbels on wooden panelling, way to go Steph, not hot glued Wedgewood !
The gardens are superb and Dan, Kirstie, Davey, Nic and Matt have NO CHANCE.
Well worth a watch if a real Chateau is your thing.

Oh the interior , china, furniture and then the garden ....... my husband is doing a small orchid house down the back ..... no it does not look anything as grand as that but I have to show him.
