This is completely normal for 12 year olds. I turned 12 right before I went to secondary school and some people in my year would’ve been 11 when starting and turning 12 during the first year of high school. This is when you start experimenting with hair and nails and make up. I definitely had highlights, wore terrible make up and had acrylic nails for the first time at this age as did the majority of my peers. This was 20 years ago now too and kids are even more into this stuff these days.

Okay well I wouldn’t let an11/12 year old have dyed hair and acrylic nails but each to their own. I would maybe allow painted nails and playing with makeup at home.

She is dressed like every other 12-13 year old, she also has no make up on at all. In my opinion it is perfectly 'age appropriate'

He seems absolutely desperate to be assimilated into the Peltz family, weird behaviour considering how close his own family claim to be. I actually feel sorry for him, I think he has had such a fucked up home life with him ill mum and cheating dad and he wants to create the perfect family of his own. Nicola seems happy to indulge his obsession for now but I suspect she will tire of it eventually and move onto someone more mature.

You're exactly right. My parents stayed together until the bitter end and although I think they had a love for each other they weren't in love any more and we as their kids knew it. There's an atmosphere that's hard to explain.

I've met the family several times through work - always found David to be friendly and the kids are lovely too. Victoria stand off ish, but not unpleasant.
The Goop podcast was pretty terrible. She just can't open up, everything feels so insincere and slightly defensive. I feel that podcast was a great opportunity for her to show some personality as if you can't be a little bit extra with Paltrow, who can you be extra with? She also didn't sound particularly knowledgable about the make up, but then again, it feels like she just wanted to dodge questions or answer them with the least substance possible.

Every time she speaks it is so scripted and insincere. I miss the Posh of old.

I’d love her to go on Elizabeth Day’s “How to Fail” podcast. She has had Mel B, Mel C AND Geri on there and frequently says it’s be her dream to have all 5 Spice Girls on the podcast. It’d be a great opportunity for Victoria to share a more vulnerable, human side, but I can’t see her ever doing it, and even if she did it’d probably be very beige and boring.

I will admit that those photos of David and Harper made me feel a bit uncomfortable. We've got 3 daughters and there's no way any of them would have posed with their Dad like that at 13 - they're really aware of personal space by this age and don't often like adults in theirs. It's very odd.

I know what you mean. I’m female with a son the similar age to Harper and I can’t imagine myself putting my arms around his waist or kissing him on the lips.

I love my son dearly and he knows it but I wouldn’t display the same affectionate signs with him that DB does with Harper.

Was DB as outwardly affectionate as this with his sons? Are there pictures of him kissing Brooklyn/Cruz/Romeo on the lips aged 12?

At my private school my gang all had horrific Sun In hair fake nails weren't a big thing in the olden days. A bit of makeup for parties and nail polish at the weekends was normal at 12.

At 12 lots of girls (and some boys) take an interest in fashion and beauty.
Imagine your mother had the top nail techs etc on speed dial and her own freaking makeup and fashion line!!!
Of course you will pester her to get them done .

Also I think how you see David and Harper is down to your own perceptions and childhood. My father was definitely hands off and cold.
I would have loved it if he was tactile and doting as David appears to be.
Ps can’t stand David. He is cold to Victoria and a rat!

A bit of make up and nail varnish for parties is where I'd expect Harper to be at now with the acrylic nails coming later in her teens. If David was as doting to Victoria I wouldn't find his behaviour with Harper so strange though it may all be an attention grab.
I'm not saying he's a full on pweirdo I just find it a bit creepy.

Laine theatre is a very harsh and tough stage school. Betty Laine is a complete task master. She was an examiner in a few of my exams. I imagine Victoria limped through the most basic foundation course in the 90s and wasn’t expected to do much afterwards. It’s a mystery how she got in the spice girls. It’s clear from old video footage from her dancing days that she didn’t have natural talent.

I've seen somewhere on social media, sorry can't remember where that her dad paid to get her into the Spice Girls.
