On the letter it also said that they would explain everything to her and Archie’s dad beforehand and in brackets was ‘preferably together’. Makes me think they are not as united as Hollie makes out…..

There’s a lady (Baroness Elora Finley?) on BBC News at the moment who is discussing the case and saying she advocates for independent mediators for these cases. Agree. Would save a lot of time and hassle (and money). She’s also asking for an inquiry and has called him severely brain damaged. They’re also discussing the voice of the medical team not being heard much - she’s saying people need to remember it’s a team opinion not an individual’s opinion. A relief to hear it being said tbh not the usual ‘Archie’s in a coma and needs more time - NHS at fault for not giving it to them’.

The case we had where I worked where the family beat up the consultant - the assault wasn't reported until after the child had died so nobody knew (apart from staff) when it was being reported that all this was going on in the background

Off topic slightly but it was in response to Fabrice Muamba’s collapse that drove a huge increase in defribrillators in public places.
Jezza probably not the best choice of interviewer, given the circumstances which led to his TV show being axed.
It's because of patient confidentiality, when the team goes in the office, relative out of sight the slagging off commences. The staff definitely won't be happy but keep quiet due to respect for Archie and not wanting to lose their jobs. If the hospital issued a statement Hollie would be quick to shout about her son's privacy and dignity. Horrible but happens everyday.
The significant difference, IIRC, between Fabrice and Archie is that with Fabrice, because it was in the middle of a packed game CPR was started almost immediately after he collapsed and it was completed incredibly effectively because it was administered by a doctor and a physio or something. He also had oxygen on him almost as quickly as they started the CPR so effectively they were keeping him alive by their efforts until he could be taken to hospital.
Archie was hanging for an undetermined amount of time (as the time and story keeps changing) and if his family did do CPR, until the paramedics arrived it sadly wouldn't have been effective (because unless you've done it yourself in real life on a real person, you'll never do it properly).

We’ve unfortunately experienced this with our son and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but when we saw the brain stem test we knew our son was gone. Clearly Hollie was and still is in denial, but you can’t bury your head in the sand and hope it goes away. Nobody wants to accept their child has gone and I hope no one feels the pain of walking out of the hospital without them but the doctors and nurses in the critical care units work tirelessly to save lives. They don’t want a child to die and believe me they feel your pain, they were in tears along with us and then they do it again the next day. My son’s organs saved four peoples lives including a baby girl and little boy and it brings me comfort knowing they are still alive over four years later because of my son. Sadly this won’t be a possibility for Archie now because of the deterioration of his body. Another thing cases like this bring up is did we not fight hard enough for our child? Did we not love him as much as Hollie does because we let him go. It’s hard but our son died looking the same as he did when he went out that night not a shadow of his true self as I would imagine Archie looks like now…. And just to add this all happened on Christmas Eve as well just to add to the heartbreak…..
The hospital estimated it was about 40 minutes or an hour before he had an adequate oxygen. Imagine that damage when it's around 4 minutes before you sustain permanent brain damage. He hasn't got a hope of making any recovery never did he was dead that night in April when he was found.
There was a doctor at the game IIRC that assisted with the team medical crew. The man was so lucky. I’m a Bolton fan, and I still get goosebumps when I think back to the game when Spurs played us at home and Fabrice came onto the pitch to thank everyone for their support. All the Spurs fans were singing his name alongside the Bolton fans. It was incredibly heartwarming. Then they beat us
