I’ve loosely followed this case and this happens every few years with children who are terminally ill/at the point of no return - Facebook groups become a shrine to their recovery…. from something they can’t recover from. It feeds into the fragile state of the parent and this happens. Court cases, legal battles… and in the end the child ends up dying anyway. Sad but true, it’s a heartbreaking situation but these parents get hyped up by random people on the internet and think they know it all.

You can easily see how bad things happen to kids because the authorities lack the confidence to challenge the parents and just dodge responsibility. I can't believe this kid is a ward of court. This case is ridiculous and unbelievable. There should be mechanisms in place to prevent these cases being dragged out. The Law is notoriously slow, but in cases such as this things need to be far more efficient.
Hollie's barrister could filibuster Jacob Rees Mogg out of the park. Imagine having to be the stenographer 
Judges would never admit this but I guarantee they've decided on the papers alone how they're going to decide. IMO the barrister for the family knows he's fighting a losing fight but what can you do - you get your instructions, you have to put up a fight as that's the job, and ultimately you have to look like you've gone down with the ship too. I've had judges before make it really obvious in the first few minutes that they won't find with my case but I'm there for my client and tbh sometimes when that happens I will fight every possible point, even the bizarre and the daft, because I want my clients to know I did my very best even when we all know from the off they're going to lose. A lot of clients just want their day in court at the end of the day.
I actually admire the family's barrister for fighting, irrespective of whether I agree with their position or not. It is so important we retain this right (but that doesn't mean the law isn't outdated)

Good luck Hollie am sure you've got the hang of it by now and you can tell the appeal court judges that my legal and medical specialist reports go back to 1994 and in1997 I had DSS Commissionaires-who are appointed by HM The Queen on the advice of The Lord Chancellor- Law reports help me win my appeal and it's still helping people win their appeals today and will continue into the future-and iv just got my benefits Commissionaires report now in 2022 which explains changes in the law that courts must take note of to help disabled people like Archie live a full and rewarding life-God bless Glenn.

I have a disability but Ffs Archie doesn’t have one. He’s dead. Bit of a difference. I hate how even if there was a hope of recovery they are already planning on playing the discrimination card.
I am very much looking forward* to the serious case review, if one is conducted.

Yes. The judges didn’t seem at all convinced by the case put across by the family barrister. I think Justice Hayden’s judgement will be upheld and their appeal dismissed.
Didn't get to see much of today, so do you think the judges here might say enough is enough? It seems that the court have been very accommodating and sympathetic thus far. But there's only so long this can go on for of course.
Yeah I’m sure this one will be rejected. I think this is where the rejections start happening if she takes it further, which she will.
Will the police have to investigate his 'accident' then?
If she takes it to the European human rights court i hope to god they put their foot down and tell her that archie is dead and has been dead since May.
IIRC, and I hope I’m not misrepresenting, in the book « The Rule of Law », the author (a prominent legal bod in some capacity) basically said that judges often have a way they want to find, and then seek the legal justification. Opened my eyes to the way it worked, hence my total lack of surprise at Roe/Wade a few weeks ago (not to derail).

I thought there was an inquiry and that’s all. Someone before mentioned that it’s likely to be judged as a misadventure or accident of sorts rather than an intentional suicide attempt because the family tend to insist their child would have never tried
His accident/situation would have triggered the SUDiC protocol (Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood). There would have been an investigation into the circumstances at the time. There may be further investigations when he dies. All of the information gained will be presented to the coroner during the inquest. I'm fairly certain that it will be deemed misadventure as there isn't enough evidence to support the conclusion of suicide.
