The only thing I got from the whole minimalism wardrobe for rich people, is that I am actively looking at labels to see what they are made of. Let’s be frank to a lot of people (especially for me) HM is expensive and I cant buy things all the time. A lot of my clothes dont fit right because I got them 5+ years ago. The few pieces I brought the past two years have mostly been second hand and items I found for 70% off.

I used to watch Anna a lot back in the day, but started to feel bad because I wanted to have expensive thing too, so I gradually stopped watching her. Soemtimes I pop by her channel to se how shes doing.

I totally lost perspective and started to feel like tit so stopped watching her and unfollowing loads of influencers. Started thinking about what’s important to me and it isn’t expensive clothing.
my question is who CAN afford that lifestyle though?

People born into money!

I have seen some articles talking about young women going into serious credit card debts, all because thy wanted to buy luxury items to showcase a luxe lifestyle on Instagram hoping to become famous.

A lot of influencers are going to have a difficult time adjusting to the situation we are in right now, they themselves cant afford all the things they are pushing. We have to remember that only few of them that have made Zoella kind of money.

Exactly. It's worrying how quickly lots of influencers are pushing Klarna Buy Now Pay Later.

I said this on Fluer de Force's thread but if these influencers really care about the environment, the quickest and easiest thing they could do is stop receiving PR. The amount of waste alone that PR pacaging generates would make your head spin. A Canadian beauty guru did it like 2 years ago for that reason. She said she and her boyfriend, now husband, had to actually hire someone to go through it to see what was recyclable and what went to the landfill. It got to be too much and she realized how it was negativity impacting the planet.

I also realized how out of touch with reality she was when she mentioned that a KKW lip liner cost "practically nothing" at 12 dollars. I know that it’s not much money in the grand scheme of things but still, I think it was a bit tone deaf.

I get the prices of things are all relative to our circumstances, but she's gifted so much expensive stuff she has no idea how people who have to pay for it all function.

Jesus Christ. An entire bleeping video dedicated to maintaining her mostly #kindlygifted, pretensious wardrobe. If clothing takes "maintenance" aside from an occasional iron or mending, I can't be arsed. I don't think I've even ironed any of my clothing in the last 10 years. #richpeople

I don’t even think it’s just rich people. It’s influencers who have duck all else better to do tbh.

I refuse to give her a watch. She is incredibly dull. We've seen every inch of her bloody apartment, I bet it's back to the bathroom cabinet full of expensive gifted creams next week.

Turned it off after 10 minutes, the amount of gifted crap in the description box. I will only click affiliated links for a select few, she's not one of them.

New poster here. I used to like Anna a good few years ago...and obviously I don’t know her background, but it looks like she suddenly become “rich” and everything changed. Her make is ALL expensive. She used to have young girls as an audience but now how many people can actually relate to her? I cannot remember the last time I saw her use a product from the high street. Everything is hourglass, Chanel, Nars etc and her make up is SO boring now. I’m fed up of her orange eyelids. I stopped watching her make up videos because every look was identical. She’s just so “high class” now. Everything is bleeping expensive and minimalistic. Posh, white expensive decor in her flat. No colour anywhere in her life other than on her eyelids.

I really love Anna, she’s one of my favourites and after watching her blog today I decided I’d have a look at the tracksuit she treated herself too as I thought I might also treat myself - the bottoms were £95 and I didn’t dare look at the top! It kind of blew my mind that anyone would spend that kind of money on tracksuit bottoms!

Did she buy it? I'm convinced most of her stuff is gifted and undeclared.
It’s not marked as gifted. The top is £110 pounds!
I was really shocked when the rules changed and everything gifted had to be declared and I saw how much of Anna’s jewellery was gifted. It was really eye opening.

Same. I bet she didn’t pay for it, or was paid to wear it, or both.

Was it that awful, yellowy Missoma stuff, @Geranium? They’ve even got to Elizabeth Day, whom I otherwise really like.
