I don’t know how to express this properly - but I cannot stand her makeup declutters! Her newest post is ‘condensing her makeup collection’. I know she’s moved miles away from Vivianna does Makeup but her collection is so small and boring for a blogger/influencer. Obviously that would be a good thing if it meant reduction in waste/wiser spending, but she’ll buy 6/7 foundations and declutter them all. Gets rid of any mildly exciting or different eyeshadow or lipstick colour she possesses. It just reiterates to me how dull she is, such a shame too because a bright lip on her can be gorge! She just limits herself so much, obviously no one needs makeup, or even then anything more than the minimum - but when your job is focused around beauty/lifestyle like hers is... it just really bothers me!

and I like Anna generally... except for the awful,repetitive, non-capsule ‘capsule’ wardrobe content - the money! The waste! Who is she fooling!?

I don’t mind her and read her edits on skincare, make-up and beauty tools the other day. I was quite interested in her skincare post. Anyway, she recommends tonnes and tonnes of expensive products (to me, anyway) that are part of her routine, then at the end mentions that her skin is bad at the moment and she gets new spots every day!! Maybe it’s the 5000 products you slap on everyday! Needless to say I haven’t bought anything...

I find Anna's content really calming to watch. In a world of very vapid vloggers I do feel she has good values, encourages reading interesting books and cooking from scratch, discourages fast fashion. I think people who dislike her are the ones who find her too unrelatable. And those who just can't see past her brows (I must admit I'm kind of also in this camp)

On more thing, LOVE her openness about being hairy and being sweaty. Other women and girls can relate, I love it! Me too hun, me too

Haha discourage fast fashion, lol...she buys more clothes per season than most of our yearly clothes shopping.

I buy from fast fashion like HM, uniqlo, arket etc... do I have 30pound to spend on a T shirt, do I have 80 pound to spend on a Pj sets, do I have 200 pound to spend on a dress? yes and no - I am not willing to spend that kind of money (lol I rather spend it on food!) One argument that people like to put forward is that fast fashion are not long lasting and it goes out of trend very quickly, well I take care of my clothes and buy the size that suits my body. (I also don’t wear expensive clothes for gardening haha, cc fashion mumblr) I also don’t buy very trendy clothes because it will go out of fashion very soon. How many of us can really spend that kind of money on ethical brands when everything cost a fortune. Is different for them, when they can business expense and get most of their shopping cover through AD PR gift

I think Anna has the addiction of splurging money on expensive or rather overpriced things, just a few weeks ago she spent 200-300 pounds on a print; and a 450 dress just yesterday. Perhaps she associates expensive =good=quality ? Who is her target market now, who has the money to splurge on a 200 jeans/ 250 dress/ 200 prints ?

In these last three posts alone I calculate that the tops and bottom cost over £1,500. That doesn’t count the make up (Tatcha Mask etc) and jewellery.

1. Half of it gifted no doubt which is proof these brands are just emperors new clothes.
2. People who can afford to shop these items wouldn’t be following Anna anyway.
3. The brands (apart from the PJs) actually have nice stuff but Anna always manages to pick the most old fashioned and frumpy bits
4. Anna is a grafter and seems nice I will give her that but she has lost touch IMO.

Frankly all the well known influencers would struggle in a real job - they all seem unproductive moaners who have to give up & have a lie down in response to the slightest ‘off’ day. Their idea of a productive day - do a yoga class, answer some emails, have a shower, cook lunch, take some photos, put on a face mask, organise a cupboard - is frankly what I do to relax at weekends. They really are in a bubble of privilege.

While I think regular jobs, or at least my job, are much more hectic, I think you’re forgetting about the business side of things. Negotiating contracts, business acquisition, that type of stuff. Sure, that will largely be done by a manager, but it will all go through the influencer as well. Discussing content with brands, having all of that approved etc.

But yes, I can’t image it being too much work, simply because of the fact that they have so much time to do all of that cabinet reorganising and yoga during the day, which are things regular people have to do in addition to their work.

I watched her latest video and saw Lily’s Instagram story. Neither of them have addressed how privileged they are to be able to stop using their Chanel bronzers and foundations and buy 3/4 Fenty ones and other bits of makeup because the shades are more inclusive. They shouldn’t be giving airtime to non inclusive brands but A) we’ve been aware of this issue for years and they still chose to support white only brands and B) not very many of us can choose to just bin our makeup and buy loads of new high end products

I know it's a woman's choice and we shouldn't shy away from our natural body hair but her eyebrows actually make me feel sick. I think it's the way she brushes the hair vertically.

Totally! Looking back, I think it started going downhill when she first hired a professional photographer.

The thing with Anna is that she really needs a complete style overhaul, starting with the hair. She has a round face shape and would look really good with a style like this. I don’t think it’s very flattering to scrape your hair back from your face in the way that she does. However, with this style, she could easily wear her hair up and the fringe would make the style look less harsh. With her current style, I feel as though she only chose it because “lobs” are trendy, rather than it actually suiting her.

The same applies with the laminated brows. They really don’t suit her face at all as they dominate her features. That being said, I don’t think they look very good on anyone. Look at this poor Cosmo journalist who tried it. I believe Anna did it because it’s the latest fad.

With the way that she dresses, she doesn’t dress for her body shape. I am pear shaped myself and I have learned that I cannot wear oversized styles on the top as it swamps my frame. I’ve also learned that I cannot wear the beautiful prairie tiered style dresses and skirts in fashion as they add the WRONG type of definition to the bottom half of my body. Anna would do well to not wear things just because they are in the fashion magazines.

AW man teva’s are awesome! So comfy - but yes they are granny sandals and are made for walking hols etc But I gotta say after wearing uncomfortable fashionable shoes all out my twenties I needs that comfort in my thirties

I'm in the same boat. Invested in a pair of comfortable sandals for all the commute walking I needed to do this summer. I know my sandals don't look chic with my work attire but for the first summer in my life, I'm too comfortable and chafe-free to care. I love them! I didn't know Tevas etc were trendy at all though, good for me I guess LOL.

Buying something for the sake of a trend has always felt a bit bonkers to me, it's all the more visible while watching influencers do it from a safe distance.

I've come to view Anna very differently of late. The weird fan girling of BA, Glossier and the fitness bloke is just strange from a woman of her age. Also we get 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' but I think if I was Brittany Bathgate I might be considering a cease and desist. No original ideas? imposter syndrome? Too much time, too much money? What do we think Tattlers?
