Just sticking my nose in but a hob on an island is really a nightmare for fitting an extractor and may be limited by where their piping and electric is. Plus it’s already a house prone to damp. So in this case a central hob would be a no for several reasons

To be fair Anna said in her new year goals she wanted to do a pottery class and then Lily signed up to one…

Just caught up...the kitchen is soulless and characterless. Imagine putting nothing of yourself into the space you live in just because you don't want other people to dislike it. Imo the design shows a real lack of confidence.

The thing that annoys me most is the waste - they will end up changing several aspects of that kitchen themselves before they leave that house and there is no way a new owner will want to keep it. More tit to landfill.

Sweet Lawd tell me ... why would Anal think that a pantry cupboard reel/video be of interest?

Agree that the hob would have been so much better in the island, especially for socialising and keeping an eye on the kid while cooking. They’ve got a hob with a built in extractor, and seeing as it’s a new extension if they’d planned for it in the island during the build it wouldn’t make much difference where the hob is located? Probably another case of Little Miss Organised not actually being very organised.

The whole kitchen just feels like it was designed by someone who never, ever cooks. The space is just ‘off’ and the ‘sink, fridge, cooker’ triangle isn’t there. It’s definitely not a cook’s kitchen but then it’s not really functional for entertaining either. At a pinch it’ll work for ‘presenting‘ but even then, you’d be better off with the hob on the island.

We chose to have a hob on our island and I'd highly recommend it. We have an extractor fan above it and had the wiring put in when the kitchen was put in. It makes cooking so much more sociable and if you have small children it is easier to keep an eye on them.

With all that space I still don't understand why they didn't choose a walk in larder rather than that "pantry cupboard". It would be far more instagrammable for her too. I love ours.

She has reached a whole new level of body checking with this “look, I’m so tiny I can wear a necktie as a top” she’s doing at the moment.

I wonder if Anna and lily planned to do the pottery course together ages ago, maybe Anna's mum even took her place.

As for the kitchen, a sink on the island would be a good compromise around not having the hob/extractor there and still facing the room. It's also handy if when preparing food on the island or to just turn around and stick things in after using the hob.

Can't believe how much sink talk can be generated on tattle.

Surely an 'organising my kitchen' (in paid partnership with John Lewis) vlog is imminent? In which she decants all those bottles of squash into clear glass jars and gets her label maker out...
Flashbacks to Emma Hills fifty million tins of carrots and protein snacks in kilner jars
