We remortgaged in April at a rate of 3.93% for 5 years. We were on 1.75% - I do miss covid sometimes!! I dont have a clue about rates I just trust our financial advisor. I really recommend getting a good one if you havent already x
my best friend’s partner is a mortgage advisor which is very helpful 😂

It's a bit different but we recently moved our year 3 child to a new, much bigger school and we worried ourselves sick about it because he was so settled and doesnt cope well with change. He was very reluctant but we agreed to give it 3 months and if he wasnt happy, he could go back. Well, he is thriving! Making friends is slow but he has 2 girlfriends 😂 and has a few relationships forming ❤ we have to travel further and parking there is like getting a glastonbury ticket but, its the best thing weve ever done for him. You wont know until you give it a go. Id just recommend taster days/walking around the school together a few times first. You could go, give it a few months and always go back if it isnt to be. Remember, nothing has to be forever. Children are so much stronger than we think

Thanks for your responses. The house is my parents so we've stayed her lots and know the area. The changing of school is my main concern. Our working schedules would be fine. I just cant seem to decide either way.

I might be entering my perimenopause era and any of the threads with that in the title haven’t had any posts in forever so I don’t know where to go 😭. My periods have always been troublesome and my cycles pretty much always loooong (at least in the time I was tracking when TTC). I’m 13 months post partum and things have just been a bit… off lately. I have a lot of spotting through my cycle which never used to happen. In the later part of my cycle I will have spotting after/during sex which is again not really normal for me. I had what seemed like more than spotting a couple of weeks ago so thought it was a very early period. Except it was really short lived and now I have my actual period and it’s horrid. I experienced so much muscle pain post partum. It’s better than it was but I’m achey in random places. I’m also struggling with bladder control. My mental health took a huge nose dive during maternity leave (probably PPD but I had a lot of rage that lasted longer than the initial postpartum hormone craziness). I upped my antidepressants but I hate it, I feel really flat. Honestly, this was supposed to be my milf era 😆. I’m in my early 40s and my baby was a pre-IVF naturally conceived miracle but now I am beginning to wonder about the theory that women have a ‘final flourish’ from their bodies before the perimenopause/menopause starts, kind of a biological last hurrah procreation attempt, and I was just lucky enough to have caught mine. I literally cannot decide if I want another baby or not (he’s AMAZING but duck me it’s been rough on us all, him included) but I hate the idea that my body may have decided for me 😭.

Your changed cycles could be your "new normal" post baby. My late mum once told me that my periods would get better after I had babies....WHAT A MASSIVE LIAR! It absolutely wouldn't hurt to be checked out though, especially with the spotting between periods. My babies are teenagers now, but perimenopause is doing a massive number on me, it's pretty grim. 😬 There's an active thread here.

Echoing @chickhicks86 here to say it’s probably nothing, but please get your spotting checked out, and please don’t put this off. The things it can be (small chance, worth checking) are relatively easy to sort out when you go early (it’s been my journey this year).

I have coloured my hair (semi permanent) for more years than I care to remember. I stopped working earlier in the year, and let it grow. It is now past my ears. And I have been wearing hats. I might have some work coming up and am not sure what to do. Hats are not an option.

I had bleeding after sex, and between periods earlier this year, and it turned out I have a polyp near my cervix - really common as we get into our 40s apparently and normally harmless, but definitely worth a visit to the GP to get everything checked out.

If it was me I would use one of the £1.99 sprays like the one in Home Bargains. Not tried the blonde one, but when I spray the light brown one in a quick zhush over my grey, my friends seem to immediately compliment my lovely new hair colour.🙄
It's making me feel like ditching the hair dye and just using the spray.😁

Sorry, I don’t know how I didn’t see that thread! I definitely had up and down cycles initially which seemed fair enough. I spent a tonne of years with a mirena coil so I don’t know how my periods were then. They used to be awful (endometriosis and PMOS) but when I was TTC they broadly seemed ok. Now they’re very up and down. This one seems like a heavy, painful cycle, others have seemed lighter (though last longer) and not too bad. I wanted a new coil as part of my planned c section but it ended up being too complicated so they couldn’t do it. Woe!

Has anyone tried any of the heated things from Stoove and are they any good?

Yes and yes! I have both the regular cushions which are very nice and also the thinner „mat“ liner. Both get toasty warm and a charge lasts a long time. The liner is really nice because it gets warm everywhere and warms back and legs.

@ThisIsMyDragName I have no idea if this works for you or not, but I'm taking creatine. It's like I'm alive again. There is more energy, everything is more fun and it takes away the brain fog. I do have to say that there's a lot about it but read up and do what works for you. I can't take it every day so I cycle on and off. It works better than the Prozac my dr prescribed

I don't know if this is you either but my friends and I figured out that the rage is when we're ovulating. Where it was wearing lots of red and wanting to jump anything with a pulse, our body now throws in blind rage. Like it wants us to know that any baby making is now 😆

And I can't help you with bladder control. But I do know that I can go to my dr and they can refer me to hospitals for a short course. Need to do that soon but I'm not there yet. I do know that there is special underwear for it. Like period underwear is supposed to absorb tiny leaks of a long time. But this is supposed to take up quick blasts and it helps with the smell. If you buy those and wash those, those things never dry. But these days there are really cute adult diapers that feel soft and look and feel like underwear. If you don't need it every day but just want to be extra sure for things like a day out, the throw aways are really good. I'm usually okay but not too long ago I was out for a day, sneezed too hard and forgot to cross my legs. That made me hyper insecure so now I'm camp better safe than sorry

Thanks, this is so helpful! I looooove a supplement so I will look into creatine. I do have access to a pelvic physio and I may start medication. I do sometimes use the underwear, my major issue is at night. I do have some stress incontinence issues but it’s more a nighttime problem for me so the underwear are helpful for that!

I will just caution about creatine - if you don’t exercise it will make you large. People who go to the gym or play sports use it. Although it’s been banned in use of pro sports

This is an outrageous comment 😂 Creatine doesn’t make you large, whether you exercise or not. It can cause a modest increase in weight on the scales initially, but that’s only cos of increased water retention within the muscles, not large gain. It’s one of the most extensively researched supplements, with well established benefits for muscle strength and performance, and recent evidence of potential cognitive benefits. And it’s absolutely not banned in professional sport. Where on earth did you get that information? (Big creatine are not paying me to write this post)

It is banned in a lot of sports. And it will cause weight gain sorry if I used the word large i stead of weight gain. How do I know? It happened to a friend who used the stuff and didn’t exercise. Ballooned like an elephant
