Ok am I being a miserable cow? I don’t have children and I’m not maternal so I am entirely open to accepting that this is all just me.

I live in an apartment complex. My apartment is above a kind of open area. It’s just an intersection of pathways really. Every wkend, all day long, kids are playing there, bouncing balls and laughing and shouting at eachother.

I keep my windows open because I’m perimenopausal and dying of the heat constantly. The sound from outside goes absolutely through me. All I want to do is sit in my living room and read my book in peace.

I understand that I can expect a child free life but not a child free world. There are no back gardens for these kids to play. They have a right to be outside. But my ears. 😭
Is it a public area?

Only just found this thread but have a random problem so hoping for some advice! Mine and my bfs house has a large gravel driveway, we didn’t put it down, the previous owners did and they did a massive bodge, didn’t put any membrane done and it’s literally weee central! Also, the neighbourhood cats see it as one giant litter tray! Our cats don’t go there, but neighbours have seen other cats from the area and it’s getting to be a real problem! The half bury it in the gravel, you can’t see it and well, you can imagine it’s a pain and not fun having to go digging around in the stones to fish it out….the plan eventually is to pull up the stones weedkill properly, lay a membrane and put the stones back, topping them up at the same time as it needs more…..loads of people have gravel driveways, but do they all have this problem? Does anyone have a gravel driveway and have this issue or have any ideas/thoughts as to how we can stop it being used as a giant litter tray 😩😩😩 ideally we’d concrete/resin it, but we can afford that any time soon so it’s not an option sadly and we just have to work with what we’ve got and can afford! Any advice very much welcome!!!!
What weed killer do you use? You need to ensure it’s the right thing for the weed you’re dealing with so may need two different types, ones that kill the roots. If you happen to know any farmers, they can get the industrial stuff.

We have large gravel/stones and don’t have a cat problem, if yours is more small shingle maybe you can top it with some larger stones when you come to do it assuming the size puts them off.

Any advice on how to stop a dog pissing on my lawn and driveway? Someone on the lane let's their dog walk way ahead of them and their dog at least once a day pees on the top of my driveway or on the lawn or the bark. Tonight, it's came right down the driveway and pissed on my front door so ive reached my limit. It's driving me insane as I have young ones who love helping me garden, yes theyre gloved 90% of the time but still. I've put vinegar down as read that can do the job but any advice is appreciated. Crapbag wont let me pull her, says its petty 🙄

Dr Google seems to think it is probably a perimenopause symptom or a vitamin deficiency. I tend to get heat rash on my chest / neck , this is totally different to that

I considered that , nobody else has caught it
Did you Google lens the picture of your rash?

It does have a sleep mode but I keep that switched off, an it does also have a inactive mode which gives me a pop up saying that it's going to shut down unless I click no which I do, but these shut downs are totally random, today I had maybe 3 shut downs within around 5 mins of one another, so not enough time passed to trigger a sleep or inactive mode

The wires all seem fine an I always keep it clean behind the unit so no wires are tangled or pulling on one another

Sometimes when I put the TV back after it's happened I get some warning about it can't continue the recording but I've no idea what that means, as far as I am aware the TV can't record anything

I have a feeling it's developed a fault but I've no idea what fault it could be an if I can fix it 😩

I cleared out all my wardrobes last week and now my bin is full. I have one more bin bag I need to put in would it be bad if I borrowed my neighbours bin? No one lives there so they aren't using it

Can anybody recommend a pair of warm but stylish gloves? I get chilblains every year and I’m struggling to find gloves that actually keep my hands warm.
Where do you live? Stylish and warm could be leather or lined leather. And if you want really, really warm, go for the lined leather ugg ones.

I've heard that Uniqlo heattech is nice too. But I've bought ugg and ugg like gloves (sheepskin with sheep wool) years ago and never looked back

I have leggings but I don't carry them all the time, although I suppose I could leave them in the car . Which only works if I've taken the car. I was more thinking about impromptu
bursts of motivation. I suppose nobody does voice what people wear.
At my gym you can rent specific lockers. See if yours offer the same. I’m not bothered and just use which ever is free but if you can rent a specific one you can leave some gym clothes in it

Apart from poison how can I stop mice? I've found my second since Monday

I contacted my housing association (who I'll contact again) and was told this is my responsibility. Fed up of dealing with it

Is there an way i can email my 6 years school without sounding like a grade A *head?
I changed my daughter's surname in the midst of applying for primary schools, so on the original forms she still had dad's surname. Once she got into the primary school she had my surname (by legal deed poll), so on all her school forms/books she has new surname. She only knows herself as new surname. The school uses an app for everyday updates but this was registered under her old surname. Daughter likes to see "her points" on the app which causes questions on " why I am x previous surname?" Which is too complicated to explain due to her age. How can I politely ask that the new surname is changed on the app? Dad died by suicide, daughter is aware of dad's first name but not surname as he wasn't the best person so id like her to learn the best of him (i do this for her, not him) as, if she was to google his full name then not great stories would come up (she wouldnt do this at this age but the longer I can keep her "innocent" i feel would be better for her) So how do I ask this is changed if possible? Without sounding like an AI bot?

Anyone good tech wise?

TV keeps shutting off randomly, have tried hard resetting it, putting it back to default settings (although I don't think I changed anything) an have done a reset on the TV itself, but it still shuts off

I wouldn't say it's that old either, around 6 years old an certainly wasn't a cheap TV (I done research to get a good one as I mainly game)

So just wondering if something was causing it or if it's time to replace which am hoping not too, it's a Samsung oled model

I like St Eval. Good scents, nothing chemically, last all the way through. Tins, tea lights, or fancier. Made in north Cornwall.
Forgot to say: NEW10 for 10% off for new customers, although they also sell them on the big box hellhole.

Oh gosh yes in that case I don't think it's appropriate! Is it the kind of thing that you'd be able to find if you went onto your company website? I think it would probably be fine if it was to advertise it to potential new clients, but for current ones already using your services for whatever reason I think it needs to be very delicately done or not at all.
Thanks, yeah this is what I was thinking as well, I'll be in later to talk to her about it, we do have social sites an I have no problem putting it on there as I have done with other specific promotions (we are doing stop smoking this month) as I don't think people would take it personally if it was on the social site, but an email sent out to them will obviously make it a bit more personal an the fact she wants it headlined like that also puts me off because it just sounds so direct

just got off my holiday there. my shins didn’t tan AT ALL. i tried everything! suncream, water, tanning oil, tanning butter. i was short of rubbing myself in baby oil. everywhere else got a gorgeous color, including my feet and thighs. just not my fucking shins. anyone have any tips or tricks for my next holiday or even a reason why this happened?
my legs are always like milk bottles when the rest of me gets some colour. it’s because the skin on your shins is thicker and naturally produces less melanin. it also doesn’t hold colour as well using fake tan either. forever a personal bugbear!
