I have found Quechua really good, from decathlon. and, as they are wide necked (without lid) you can add the reusable ice things. 0.5 0.8 and 1 ltrDon't really know where to ask this question anyone have recommendations for a good water bottle that'll keep drinks cold?
I think once you reach adult age we're all very aware that plans and responsibilities get in the way of celebrating things on the exact day. It's also more than a year in advance, and I don't think there's any real issue in celebrating a week early or late. I'd simply find cheaper accommodation, begin budgeting a little aside each month now, or trying for the weekend after your brother's holiday. Lots of options to go with.Just after people's opinions please. It's my dad's 70th next year, he's turning 69 soon so we haven't spoken much about his 70th. Usually we like to go away as a family for parents' bigger birthdays, city break pre grandchildren and caravan or lodge style holiday since grandchildren are on the scene. I've found out my brother has booked a holiday and it clashes with the weekend dad turns 70. My brother wants us to now celebrate my dad's birthday a weekend early, which is obviously annoying, but also doubly annoying as our dad's birthday falls on a Saturday next year, so we would have been away for his actual birthday which would have been perfect. So do I arrange my dad's birthday weekend away early to suit my brother, or do I stick with his actual birthday weekend which was always the plan although not set in stone?! If I arrange the weekend before his birthday, I'm going to have to arrange something on his birthday weekend too such as a meal out. Also, I had offered to pay for my parents portion of the accommodation as a gift, but my the weekend my brother wants to go is Bank Holiday and it's a lot more expensive.![]()
My uncle did this for my grandma, we went ahead without him. He was well aware of the date and we refused to move it for him.Just after people's opinions please. I’d stick to your dad’s date. Having it on a Saturday is perfect, and I’m weirdly odd about celebrating birthdays before time.Just after people's opinions please. I’m in team does it matter. Do it the week after his birthday if it’s cheaper. Imo your dady would want your brother there. My brother has also done this, it's my dad's 70th next month an he's booked a holiday. Am not moving tit, he knows when our dad's bday is an that its his 70th, he could have booked the holiday anytime an a 70th only happens once, so my dad's getting his day on his dayMy uncle did this for my grandma, we went ahead without him. Hydro Flask. I put ice in mine in the morning and it’s still there in the late afternoon.Don't really know where to ask this question anyone have recommendations for a good water bottle that'll keep drinks cold?
I would be asking your brother why he has booked a holiday when he knows it’s your dad’s 70th and you usually go away as a family. Why can’t your brother change his dates instead? Or why can’t he take your dad out for a special dinner the week before and accept that the usual birthday plans are going ahead without him? It’s over a year away, but it’s a big birthday and I would just tell your brother that it’s down to him to move things around, not everyone else.Just after people's opinions please. I was looking at hydroflasks earlier put one in my basket as it was 25% off and now it's only 20% offHydro Flask. I put ice in mine in the morning and it’s still there in the late afternoon.
I might get the Sho Newt thenI'm a convert to Sho. Keeps everything cold for hours and no plastic straws on their new bottles, which I love, they've moved to metal.
Am I reading this right? Your brother books a weekend away, a year in advance. So now your whole family can't go celebrate your dad's birthday on his birthday. It’s a bit much calling the OP a doormat because she’s trying to work out the best way to go about celebrating her dad’s birthday! Sure the brother is being selfish but in this situation the adult thing to do is compromise, not throw all her toys out of the pram and insist on going on the original date and causing conflict and upset. Could be that the father doesn’t give a shiny rit if the celebration is a few days early if it means the whole family will be there. Most people older than 12 don’t. Life is easier and more fun when you don’t try and make a battle out of absolutely everything.Am I reading this right? Your brother books a weekend away, a year in advance. So your one brother is okay with derailing at least 3 things (birthday, weekend, money) for at least 3 other people. And you're seriously thinking about giving in. Okay doormat, let's not celebrate dad's birthday on his actual birthday but on a more expensive bank weekend just because either your brother doesn't think his dad's birthday is important enough to skip the other thing or the golden child never learned to compromise because *checks notes* his sister is actually thinking about giving in with her mom, dad, time and money a year in advance
Babe, be more like your brother and make yourself a priority
i really don’t see what the issue is with celebrating it a week early or late? i agree with you, make yourself a priority. but i don’t think this is that big a deal. as long as he’s seen by family on his birthday why does it matter if the weekend away isn’t on that day?Am I reading this right?
