Does anyone know any clever tips for making super scuffed/chipped car alloys look a little better? I'm trading my car in so want it to look as good as possible to get the maximum value for it, I now regret all the earlier years of liking to get too close to curbs while parking 😅

I have a funeral related one
My husband's uncle, married to his dad's sister , has died. I don't think I've ever met him , I've only met her. They live over an hour away so that will be well over an hour each way travelling to the funeral . I don't want to go .I have a few days coming up with several things on , and I bet it falls on those days.
I'm likely to have childcare issues, either getting back for pick up , or no one to look after my youngest. I'm sure if I was employed, I wouldn't be given the day off for it.
I'm not sure how to say I don't want to go.
I would blame childcare! I'm sure they won't be offended, it's not as if it's a close relative. Is your husband going? Send your apologies along with him if he is, and if not just send a condolence card.

I love the Hyundai i10 or (my current car) i20. They go for miles in town on a teaspoon of petrol, you can park anywhere, and if you get a 1.2L model, you'll get up hills no problem...you won't be the fastest, but you'll be faster than a bus!
They're reliable, cheap and fun to drive. I had my i10 for almost 8 years and it never let me down, it was 15 years old when I got rid (steering issue which would have cost more than it was worth), I still miss it! 😭
That's good to know, honestly I should probably be looking at petrol with them as well, my last guzzled it like there was no tomorrow lol, cost me a fortune to keep filling it

I'm really struggling with my hormones and looking for advice on managing my emotions on the week leading up to when my period starts.

I feel like I spend 3 weeks of the month fine and then for a whole week I am fragile like a bomb and have complete meltdowns. I have gone to zero hours contract so that I can avoid working that week. When I used to work that week I would storm out of meetings, go to the toilet and cry, there is more but it's just so embarrassing!

Once I'm out of that week I always think that I wish I'd have just controlled myself! I've been to the drs before, read up on pmdd etc.

If anyone has any tips on dealing with emotions that week I would be really grateful I'm up for trying anything! I'm 42 and the dr said I'm too old for the pill (not that it ever made a difference in the past anyway).

I don’t know if I’m overthinking this but the dentist office I am a patient at always sends me emails starting with ‘Hi There’ instead of ‘Hi Name’. It’s making me think they won’t use my first name because it’s foreign sounding. I find the ‘Hey there’ from a business to be unprofessional.

Anyone recommend a good printer, need one to go with my custom pc as the one I've got isn't being recognised as it's too old now, preferably don't want one that's going be massive as I've limited room with where to put it, it needs to be quite good at printing on card as it's what it will mostly be used for

Can anyone recommend any good websites for wall art? I've just redone a bedroom and it's a bit plainer than I wanted so need some jazzy wall art to brighten it up. Not worried about cost, just want the right thing but there are so many websites I'm not sure where to start.....

Sadly didn’t think to take a picture before the rain started, but does anyone happen to know what kind of animal does little curled poops? We’ve got something in our garden leaving 10p size presents all over our decking that look just like the poo emoji, totally curled up smooth symmetrical poop, and my Google searches are starting to get a little unhinged trying to work it out….
I’m guessing hedgehog. One left on our step years ago and I sat down and put my hand on it. 🤢

I have a potential work/ salary dilemma. Heard on the grapevine that colleague X (who is junior to me) has been offered a job elsewhere. Role is a step up, good for them. However the person who told me also said that X was getting a 6 fig salary. Now obviously what they get in their new role is no business of mine, but separate to this I heard from another manager that Xs manager couldn't retain them as their new salary was a third higher than their current one. I've inferred this to mean they are currently earning 75k a year (at least) assuming the new role is dead on 100k.

It's the current salary that concerns me, because I'm senior to them yet my salary is nowhere near 75k. I expected X to be earning 45-50k at most. If this is correct I'm now wondering how many other people junior to me are earning significantly more? There is zero transparency about salaries in our workplace and we all joined at different times. I've just got the feeling that I've spent the last 10 years being financially shafted whilst my junior is colleagues all outearned me which is a bit depressing!

If you were in my position would you pursue this further (by at least trying to confirm if X and others are paid more - and potentially then argue for a rise based on the fact my role is more senior etc?)

Not sure if this is the right place but need help. My hairs naturally brunette with slight blonde through it. I went and got it done today and I thought she would do natural blonde highlights but now it all looks blonde and is washing me out.
If I put a brown box dye on it will it be fine? I don’t want to wait it’s making me anxious and upset. I’m not bothered about the texture I can deal with that the colour is just horrible and I’m currently interviewing for jobs

No paint unfortunately, will pocket that tip though thanks.

Nail varnish remover didn't work, going to get some white spirit. Bit afraid to razor as they're a crepe kind of material, but that will be my last ditch attempt. So annoyed as they're fairly new. Thanks to all 🙏.
Did you try turpentine?

If a person was given eviction notice and it expired (april this year) can landlord then use that to apply to court now or do they need to do another one? I’ve been looking, putting in as much effort as I can, but last six months been extremely difficult.

I don’t know if it’s still the case but people used to purposely harden the skin with surgical spirit for walking in order to avoid blisters. Give it a google, It may be better to leave them to “toughen up” rather than trying to keep them soft.
That said, boots £10 Tuesday often includes a “foot mender all in one” cream reduced from £30 which is really well reviewed. I like the CCS ones or those little foot soak bags you leave on for half an hour.
Thanks I'll have a look, I wouldn't mind the tough skin but then it looks horrible if you are wearing nice shoes 😖, I'll check out the cream, I had no idea boots done a £10 Tuesday either

Double skinned socks are your friend.

I swear by these ones, as good as any of the known brands - Socks
Thanks I'll check these out, I've only been wearing my own regular cheap socks so probably not the best things to be wearing

How do you clean the glass doors of an oven? I've tried hot fairy liquid and water a few times but it's still stained brown. Also tried this astonish orange soap thing. I've bought a box of oven pride which I will use for the inside and trays but it says not to use on glass.
I use flash kitchen and a brillo pad

Good luck! I usually prepare by familiarising myself with the questions, job description, and also reading their CVs/applications beforehand. In the interviews I try to put them at ease, offering drinks and being more informal, and then start with intros to the panel members and a brief background to the role.

If you feel like you could tease more out of someone, don't be afraid to ask follow up questions or clarifications if needed. It's mainly about getting a sense of if they'd be good for the role but also if they'd fit in with the team! As much as I want someone competent, I also like to get a feel for them as person. At the end you can have space for any additional questions or if they have any questions to ask. I'd finish with letting them know next steps and when to expect an update, anything else they need to know etc.

This is probably not helpful if you've already started interviewing but hope they go well!
Thank you, it's later on today, I just don't want to be missing out questions an then the boss is like ohh did you ask this an I haven't, am going try an get some time with my boss before it to try an go over what I have but it isn't going be long I'll get as I've got a meeting right before these people come in
