A random long shot

Does anyone own a Vauxhall Adam or a Toyota Aygo?

There's are the two I have my eye on, looking for pros/cons of them, are you happy with them, are they good cost wise, how are they with visibility vision (my last car was a Ford Ka convertible an when the roof was up it was incredible restricted seeing out the back) what are they like with hills? my work has a god awful corner hill going up to it

Also had my eye on the little VW beetles but they have discontinued those an I'd rather not have another discontinued car, just looking for something kinda small
My mum likes her aygo. It would be one of the cars I would've looked at getting if needed. She just says it's a bit slower to get going then their other car (Audi A3) so she waits for a bit more space at a roundabout before going for example. She's had 2 now as the first one was written off in an accident (she wasn't hurt). My first choice probably would've been a Hyundai i10 though just because I prefer how they look.

I need some advice as to whether I should raise this encounter as a complaint to the store manager:

I went to purchase a clothing item at a well-known store. The item was full price (not on sale). I got to the till and the sales associate processes my purchase. Literally the minute the card terminal read payment ‘approved’, the sales associate proceeds to say ‘You have 14 days for exchange only, no refund’.

I got really annoyed because I found it absolutely shady she didn’t mention the special refund policy before I’d paid for the item. She willingly concealed this information until the payment terminal approved the transaction. Additionally, nowhere at the till did they have a plaque stating the return policy.

In addition to her not being particularly pleasant, I found this type of practice rather shady.
Nah I think it's common practice they say it after the sale. Definitely have done when I've been shopping recently

I can’t really give advice but I have started to feel the same way about my boyfriend of six years! He wants to be all touchy feely but it feels wrong to me and I just don’t feel attracted to him anymore
I have just come off hormonal birth control after 8 years so it is potentially due to that for me? I have read studies that BC can actually affect who you’re attracted to 😬
I’m trying to ride it out and see what happens but my mind is wandering to maybe breaking up with him and I feel so guilty
That's so interesting about BC and our hormones really do control a lot. How would you feel if he broke up with you? Relieved? Definitely don't stay with someone out of guilt, although you probably already know that.

I'm gonna speak to my husband today, in fact he's just putting the bin out so I might do it when he gets back in.

It strikes me you’re trying to examine and understand the behaviour of someone whose past behaviour has not been understandable - I say that because I cannot understand someone who purports to love and want to marry someone also being abusive to them.

There is usually a reason why an ex messages out of the blue and in my experience it is always self-serving: they want to try and see if sex is still on the table, they’re having a pang of guilt for being shitty, they’ve had too much to drink and aren’t thinking straight, they’re feeling nosy about how they stack up personally against the person they moved on from.

True narcissists love attention and mind games. He is your ex for a reason and you really need to block and move on. The fact this has left you unsettled is a prime example of why.
I agree with you, I don't know myself why I seem bothered so much. I think it's a mixture of things. I wasn't expecting to hear off of him again and I think I went into shock. I know I said it above, but I definitely think I also replied as, knowing what he's like previously he definitely would be the type to paint me as the bad person for not replying to his apology. I just find it very weird behaviour to message someone several years on out of nowhere and then go silent again.

I'm really frustrated and I'm hoping someone can help. Signed up for UC when my son was little as we needed it. Got a full time job 1 year ago and attended the meeting to prove I no longer needed UC. One month later they messaged saying I needed to complete a form so I did. Month after that they called and I contacted HMRC who agreed yes, no longer entitled, not to worry Coffee it's all sorted.
Every single month since they have called, texted and emailed to demand something from me. This month they said if I don't reply by X date they'll close my claim (which I have been asking them to do for a year). So I was like "fine I just won't reply". Well they're now calling, texting etc 2-3 times a day to "remind" me and I don't know what else to do. I just want to be left alone, I've done everything I was meant to!!!

Do you mean a lip gloss? If it’s oil based try putting some washing up liquid on it and if they’re colourfast I’d make a paste with washing up liquid and some vanish oxi powder, rub it into the stain, leave for 5 mins and then wash as normal. That’s my go to for shifting tricky stains.
No paint unfortunately, will pocket that tip though thanks.

Nail varnish remover didn't work, going to get some white spirit. Bit afraid to razor as they're a crepe kind of material, but that will be my last ditch attempt. So annoyed as they're fairly new. Thanks to all 🙏.

hi,, does anyone know how to treat blisters in corner of mouth, i have had them for 2 weeks now, i wake up with hard yellow blisters, i cant even open my mouth and when im eating it hurts and bleeds. i have been putting lip balm on them but i dont know what to do.
It's probably Angular cheilitis. Blistex relief cream usually helps, little and often. This specific one, not the balm Blistex Relief Cream 5g | Skin | Superdrug
If that doesn't work, you might need an anti fungal from the pharmacist or doctor.

Thanks so much for the insight 😊 I shall see what the doctor can do for me. Typical I book a holiday around my period time, I didn't even consider it at the time 🫠 hopefully I can take something like that being in my 40s

I just realised I missed my hair appointment this past weekend and I feel sick with guilt. What would you guys do? I think they have a cancellation policy whereby a charge is issued if you fail to cancel within 24 hours but I have not received this. I realise I had a missed call but hadn’t noticed that either with such a busy week. I feel so bad and embarrassed!
---
Just to add I’ve never missed one before and have been going there a while now every 8 weeks or so for services.

So I work in an office with no choice to WFH as there's some physical aspects. But 90% of the time I'm sat on my PC, bored out of my mind endlessly scrolling tattle 🤣

Is there anything I can do on my PC, without the need of headphones, to be productive? My screen is obscured from the rest of the office so could realistically do anything. I just feel like I should be doing something with my time that gives me more value...

I've done some Duolingo but not being able to do the listening/speaking aspects feels like cheating.
As above, online courses or reading

My neighbour next in terrace, other side, has spent all day drilling various parts of house, from 9am-7pm. I only have a bed and the place has been vibrating so much I’m in agony (and landlords painting, on inventory smashed), finally got out of bed to see they’ve erected outside a massive two storey extension. No permission sought. It’s huge and been built on a very dodgy crumbly wall that decades ago (70s) formed part of the house I live in which collapsed before it being renovated to what it is now. That wall is extremely unstable.

The noisy renovations have cost me my therapy (wait list is MONTHS) so landlord can now call on bailiffs to kick me out. They knew about it but their gardener turned up meaning it couldn’t be done due to noise and bedsit stinking of petrol. Thr next door started.

Holiday Packing Advice 😅

I’m going away for 4 nights to Croatia. The weather will be nice. I’m trying to pack the least amount of clothing possible. Excluding underwear and socks, what would you include? Or definitely exclude?
I feel like I still have too much

I was at a cafe and I had an oat latte. After I'd finished mine , someone took their drink back saying their drink was off and the staff made them another drink, which was an oat latte. I'm hoping they originally had a soya latte , but my drink wasn't that nice either
Anyone know what happens if you drink plant based milk that is off?
Haven't drunk plant based milk but I'd say if you are still feeling fine after 6/8 hours then I wouldn't worry, usually if there's anything wrong with food or drink it's a few hours later you feel it, were they certain it was off though? Could it have been maybe a different brand of milk that tasted differently so you both thought it was off?, I know you said the staff made another but most places will do that for you if you take it back

It wasn't minging, it just wasn't that nice. A lot of people seem to overheat the milk and almost burn it, it tasted a bit like that. I don't even know if the drink she had complained about was the same as what I had, she was trying to be discreet, and I was trying to heat what she was saying. I'm just panicking myself.
Have you had the same drink in the cafe before to compare? I find some brands of oat milk are very bitter!

I'm really struggling with my hormones and looking for advice on managing my emotions on the week leading up to when my period starts.

I feel like I spend 3 weeks of the month fine and then for a whole week I am fragile like a bomb and have complete meltdowns. I have gone to zero hours contract so that I can avoid working that week. When I used to work that week I would storm out of meetings, go to the toilet and cry, there is more but it's just so embarrassing!

Once I'm out of that week I always think that I wish I'd have just controlled myself! I've been to the drs before, read up on pmdd etc.

If anyone has any tips on dealing with emotions that week I would be really grateful I'm up for trying anything! I'm 42 and the dr said I'm too old for the pill (not that it ever made a difference in the past anyway).
One of my friends had a coil fitted and says it was an absolute life saver. Took her right through menopause as an HRT replacement as well

Does anyone know how accurate the quotes are on price comparison websites for gas and electric? Octopus quoted me (on their website) about £100 a month. Every other provider is half that. I pay £85 per month now for a flat double the size.
The flat being double the size, unless you’re going from 8 bedrooms to 4 say won’t make much difference. You’ll still have the same fridge, washing, cooking, showers, hairdryer etc. It’s just a few less lamps maybe.
Gas will be higher if you’re heating a larger space but not a huge difference.
The estimate might assume, if you don’t input it, that more bedrooms = more people = more usage.

You can sort of work it out yourself. If the tariff is roughly the same as your current one but the estimates are way higher than your current bill it may be that you use less than they predict. If you just had a low fixed rate and will now pay more, you can see what it would have cost on the new tariff.

So you take your old bills and look at your annual usage in KWH. The energy provider will give you their energy tariff in £/KWH say 0.35p plus a daily standing charge say 50p. Use your previous year’s usage to see what it would have cost you. Same with the gas.
