Thank you, I’ve submitted an email to request my results, the ultrasound tech couldn’t say much at the time (I’ve got gallstones) but I did ask if we’re still there & they nodded yes. Just want to know either way really.
I’d phone and request. Its too easy to slip through the net with email.
As you’ve already emailed give them until Wednesday then chase.

This is why you should always take out holiday insurance. It’s cheap and would cover a cancelled holiday. Alternatively do you have a trusted person who could deal with the boiler while you are away?
I booked everything separately and didn’t use an agency. I can change my flights but the hotel might be a write off. I don’t think booking.com provides insurance, unfortunately.

No, I don’t have anyone who can deal with this, otherwise it would have been much easier.

Going to my first ever wedding in June. Aiming to lose 3 stone and have started looking at dresses just to give me something to aim towards. Has anyone ever ordered from Silk Fred?
The wedding colour scheme is top secret 🤷🏻‍♀️ so how am I supposed to know which colour dress not to wear.
I know the etiquette is not to wear white, I quite like this, is it too white for a wedding? If it is might order for my summer Birthday anyway.

Or they do it in blue. The white is in the sale though 🤣

Was thinking with a bright red lip? I want a dress that I can wear again

Soooo my son is approaching 2 yrs old. He had a nap around lunch time for up to 90 mins then he’s awake until quite late sometimes 9.30pm as he just doesn’t seem tired. I’ve tried putting him to bed early and he just won’t go to sleep (myself & husband have tried everything and it just doesn’t work) so I’m not quite sure what to do. Do I wake him earlier from his nap? Just admit defeat and keep putting him to bed late? Anyone had experience with a low sleep needs child😁

Since we are on the topic of toddlers, my neice has now worked out how to climb out her crib, what's the best thing to keep her door shut but still allow us easy access in an out without it being an actual lock, if she can climb over her bars then she's going climb over a stairgate an I can't have her going downstairs or into my room due to animals an the fact she wants to empty my fridge an feed them everything

She almost gave me a heart attack walking into the living room tonight 😫 an I don't do a whole load of overnight stays to really want to start bolting things into the walls

I’ve tried googling this but maybe I haven’t got the wording right 🤔
Does anyone know if an illegitimate (adult) child can contest the will of their biological father, if the child was never acknowledged by the father? I can’t go into too much detail but the mother never outright told the father he had a child, but other people have told him, and it is known locally that he has a child. I hope this makes sense 🙈
I assume the father isn’t on the birth certificate? If not then they can still apply to contest but it’s a lengthy process & they will have to prove by way of dna which can be costly. Then if Dna confirms biological child it’ll be down to the court to decide what/if they’re entitled to the will. Each case is circumstantial

My teenage daughter has a massive phobia of insects/ bugs/ spiders. She won't go in the garden anymore and screams if ever she sees one. She checks rooms every time she enters and this morning she was screaming and flinging her arms around in the car because a tiny spider was coming down on its web in front of her. I was worried I'd crash! I'm not sure what to do about it.
We get a lot coming for hypnotherapy for phobias, not sure if you have any clinics close by though, other than that could CBT maybe work?

Quick question, if youre blocked on someone’s phone does that mean calls/texts are still delivered/charged? (Background long story bottom line is it was a misunderstanding, have sought advice from independent third partly who confirmed this). I’ve tried asking for a call to discuss, text and left message and been charged, but have heard nothing. I don’t know their device details.

Thanks!

Ooh yes, would I contact her gp to access cbt?
It would depend, it sounds quite severe so I'd imagine you could get CBT through the GP, I think normally you get around 6 sessions but it would depend on if her GP thinks it's severe enough to refer her for it an it may be a lengthy wait as CBT is also used for anxiety, depression, grief etc, am not sure what it would be cost wise if it was done privately

How many interviews would people do for a very entry level position that only requires GCSE grades?

I’ve currently had an interview and a short assessment (which seemed like a completely new thing for them and was honestly very silly) and it sounds like they’re planning to invite me for another interview

I’m not sure if I’m overreacting by thinking it’s all a bit silly at this point, especially as they originally rejected me and then invited me back when they put the same advert back up - so I assume there’s a chance I’ll be competing with new applicants anyway. I currently have a job and attending these 30 minute interviews isn’t ideal 😅
At that level it will largely be about personality being a good fit and ensuring someone is worth the investment. You don’t want them leaving after you’ve spent time and money to train them.
There will be plenty of applicants and you can’t pick based on skills, experience or qualifications so it has to come down to the person and that takes time. It seems backwards but it’s easier to recruit at higher levels.
I’d say an assessment and 2 interviews is to be expected, anything more would ring alarm bells that they’re looking for more than they’re wanting to pay for, trying to find a unicorn.

Tattlers I need your advice…

a few of my friends are about to have their first babies and I want to get them gifts.

a lot of the gift sets going feel very generic and samey?

what gifts did you guys *actually* enjoy/use when you had your babies?

they live a fair distance away so I’m not going to be able to pop round and help with dishes, unfortunately!

Seek advice definitely, but I knew this was going to be NHS related. You aren’t the first and won't be the last (had experience of this myself). It was awhile ago now, but certainly wasn’t enforceable when I work worked for them. I remember someone arguing about it and being trust being told this information must be given and agreed to first before doing a course; that was NHS funded but still wasn’t allowed.
Well technically I am not employed by the NHS, im employed by the GP surgery who are a sub contractor for the NHS. Apart from the NHS pension scheme I receive no other NHS related employment benefits. We get no company sick or maternity pay, when the NHS receive a pay rise we don't, hence me earning all but minimum wage.

Can you try a different browser? It just looks like it’s loaded a bit funny
Unfortunately am stuck with Google crome as it's the works computer, it must be something strange because it does it to me with Facebook as well, I have to post on the business account an where you write is really tiny that I can't really see what am typing I can only guess it's fine but everything else is massive, same with the FB messenger, if someone sends a message the profile pic part is huge an I've a tiny box with the message in it

Am guessing it's the settings on it but I've no idea what's been done as its always been like this for me so whoever before me has been the one to change it, but I've no idea what to do to change it back

I don’t think of this as a problem, but maybe more so seeking some advice? I’m looking at buying a new sofa etc and I’ve found one I really like in next. I suppose what I’m asking for is information on the quality of their furniture, what’s their customer service like etc

I really don’t want to make a purchase if they just leave you hanging should something go wrong
In my (fairly recent) experience, their customer service was good. Bought two sofas which were delivered slightly ahead of scheduled date. Delivery men were excellent in bring them in without scuffing walls etc. Quality wise, well you get what you pay for. We didn't pay a fortune and to be honest while it looks good it's not particularly comfortable. Essentially it's just a frame with large cushions for the seats and back. The cushions are filled with foam pieces which don't give any support and can get uncomfortable after sitting on them for a while. Between buying it and having it delivered they introduced the categories of 'relaxed' and 'firmer' sit and ours was in the 'relaxed' category which we probably wouldn't have chosen if we had known.

Thank you @OnlyHereForTheLolz and @Pesky Tarian. Very helpful and good to know for the future.

I changed my flights to another date but had to pay a change fee extra. However, the hotel very kindly canceled my booking free of charge.

I’ve now been stuck in my apartment with this loud motor noise taking over the entire place (I can’t even hear my TV). It’s been 15 hours of this noise - I’m about to lose it. I couldn’t even sleep last night because the utility room is right next to my bedroom. It’s like being in a loud factory or construction site. If it doesn’t get sorted today, I’m going to have to stay elsewhere because the noise is far too much.

The maintenance doesn’t seem to be in a rush to get this fixed. The landlord responded to me at 9am saying they’d send someone. No trace of anyone as of now. Really hope this gets resolved soon.
Can you turn the power off to the pump?
