He said it is coming through the wall. Not rising damp. The other side of the wall is the outside lol

They’re going to put something on to stop it coming through. The wall was very cold
Have you had a second opinion? If it is a standard brick house there should be a cavity to prevent penetration from the outside.

We had a big leak downstairs and kitchen end panels and plinths were damaged along with flooring, skirting boards, oak doors etc. It's a huge space and Insurers have offered us a cash settlement which is too low to even cover the flooring costs. But our kitchen supplier have discontinued our kitchen so no longer have any of the things we need to repair. Because they have to replace a like for like and our kitchen is no longer available will they have to replace the kitchen or just say tough shit, accept the money or get fucked? I don't know how any of it works as have never claimed for anything. We've tried calling them but they don't work Saturdays. Which I would have thought would have been their busiest day!

Oh god! Have you checked the time period? Could it have been from after you move out but before the new owners moved in/sorted their energy supplier?
it was originally an extra 3 months so i corrected the date which questionably never changed the price and has stayed the same without the 3 months. I don’t know if the meter faulty or something but the average 2 bed is 2500 kWh a year and they are saying I used 13,000 kwh in 6 months.. there was only me who lived there and I was barley home! They are saying nothing can do as it is an ‘actual reading’ except take them to court

Does anyone have a Beko Freestanding Tall Larder FridgeLSP3671D?

I bought one 2nd hand immaculate condition but for the life of me I can take the door storage trays off. I looked online and it says they lift off seen videos showing they lift off easily. .. I've tried really hard but they won't budge and I'm worried I will end up breaking them. Can't even get the water container off.
Helpppp

hello me again, here with a medical one this time. I don't want to bother 111 with this cause it seems stupid but I have anxiety.

I stabbed myself with a rusty screw driver. Just a scratch but it did break skin and bleed. I washed my hands and put germolean on it straight away. Do I need to worry?
Thank you in advance!

What is the dedicated airport express

And thanks, ideally I'd like to get the closest one that's easy enough to get too so to limit travel time on buses as I get travel sickness an honestly I have a fear of the tubes 😂 I'll walk 50 miles before I need to take one of those 5 miles

Hello! Bit of an unusual request but can anyone recommend a florist/company that does preserved bouquets or floral arrangements and delivers to north England? Looking online there doesn't seem to be many companies and I thought surely a Tattler has a recommendation?
Thank you ☺ (prefer to order online so I can see what I am getting)
My brother (south) always uses interflora to send bouquets to my mum (north)

Anyone got destructive pets? What do you find the best toys are for them

This will seem stupid but I have a very destructive rabbit, he free roams during the day so around 8/9am to about 10/11pm an is supervised so I can keep a eye on him an he's ok

However I recently got rid of his cage which I used for nights when am sleeping an when am out, an changed it to panels to make a sort of pen so he could free roam the bedroom without supervision an not get into things

He now however seems hell bent on destroying absolutely everything, his bed that I've had since I got him got all the stuffing ripped out it an today the litter tray got thrown about, he has his box stuffed daily with hay an some chew things like those wooden balls, but am wondering if there's anything else I can get him that he will focus his chewing on that will last as his toys don't last long

I was honest scared to type something like this because I'd probably get hate for it 😂 but I agree, wasn't OP that decided they should have a kid,
No but they did decide to move into a flat. It’s part of the territory. They also asked if it was awkward if they raised it because maybe they didn’t realise how loud their kid was like they would be able to turn it down! Of course they’re aware how loud their kid is, they’re in the same house! I don’t know what they can gain from saying something.
If they’d asked for advice on coping with broken sleep, sound proofing, moving the bed from the wall, good earplugs etc I’d have been sympathetic but they didn’t ask what they could do to mitigate it, just to get the neighbour to stop something they obviously can’t.

Anyway, headphones, white noise etc all good suggestions. Speaking to them, I’d strongly advise against until the child is older and something can actually be done.

I appreciate this thread is probably for more heavy/life advice, but I have a ridiculous question right now.

I froze some puff pastry when I bought it, but took it out weeks ago to defrost in the fridge and completely forgot about it. I have just found it now right at the back of the top shelf in the fridge. It's a new unopened pack, use by date is 6th Nov. I can still use it right?

Or has freezing and then allowing it to thaw for so long caused some sort of hideous bacteria to be able to thrive?

So not a huge issue but my kid has his birthday next month, it's midweek and his party is the weeknd before. On his actual birthday it's a normal day, work and childcare etc. would you do presents on the weekend before / after the party or wait until his actual birthday? He's 4

Is it definitely fake? Like it's not just the tester thing making you think so? I used to buy from, I think perfume direct, and some were box damaged, unboxed , some testers (especially if discontinued) etc buy they were real.
i didn’t think of this! it could also be a bottle marked as a tester which never actually made it out onto a shop floor. OP - like pup says, is there anything else making you think it’s fake?

not a block of flats it was a 2 bed house. Moved out of their 2 years ago now got a bill saying I used 13 thousand kWh in 6 months on electric alone.. just absurd i worked 12 hour shifts 6 days a week I was never even home😐it’s a debt letter of £1800 with 30 days to pay.. x
Could something have been running you didn't know about? Our boiler is both gas an electric run, there's a switch to turn on the electric for it an my god does it run up fast, we didn't realise when the guy done a boiler check he left the switch on till we looked at our box an seen the numbers turn like crazy

Year 2 SATS. How important are they for the child really?
We've booked a family holiday in May during school time (cheaper by half and didn't know when the sats were) the 2nd week is SATS week 😏🙄.

My son didn't do them as the schools were shut due to covid so they can't be that important, right? (🥺🤞🏻)

And surely 7 year olds doing sats is just so the school can tick boxes as to what they can achieve and what they have taught them.

Our first holiday in 10 years and of course we chose that week 😏

Don't come for me about a term time holiday, they all have 100% attendance, for now anyway 😅
Edit because I was thinking Y6 Sats 😆

Y2 sats I forgot were even a thing!

Any ideas how I can improve my skin on holidays/hot weather? I look around and see these sunkissed beauties and I look boiled with huge pores. I use heliocare facial sunscreen but I just look greasy as hell. I’m fine the rest of the year.
