It sounds silly but I don’t understand it. I think it probably has to do with the instructor though because his English was poor and I couldn’t understand a thing he was teaching me. I had 3 lessons then I stopped because I absolutely hated those lessons.

Maybe I should give auto a go with a different driving school.
Comparability with your instructor goes a really long way. The one who got me through my test was a funny bugger but he was a brilliant instructor and I still hear him telling me little tips and tricks when I’m driving today - and I passed about 13 years ago 😂 he actually got my sister through her test years before that so it’s really worth getting recommendations from people.

Yeah I am noticing my IBS symptoms have piled on since being off it. I get the odd day but the flair up has been quite bad. I eat relatively healthy, get more than my 5 a day, exercise and all that so I don't think it's my lifestyle and nothing has changed.

So i had a blood test and my iron levels are fine. I am thinking I may have PMD(D?) because mentally I take a huge plunge before and during
like I get quite suicidal. not enough to do anything but enough that I am thinking about it. This period I had a horrible moment looking at my curtain pole and had to take myself off to bed.
.

I just don't know what to do for the best. A bit of me thinks maybe I should leave it for awhile and see if things improve as it's only the 1st month but the other part of me thinks that it's not worth the stress. I will head over to the period thread though!
Oh no 🙁 I like the Flo PMS vitamins for pmdd. they’re now called O Positiv. They work so well for me, I sent the brand an email pretending to have untold allergies just to be sure they didn’t contain more than vitamins and herbs. I’m not convinced lol but they’re honestly great and if your doctors don’t do something for you, I honestly recommend the supplement 💗

Grenade Carb Killa are quite nice and have a good range of flavours. The texture isn't quite chocolate though but is the closest I've found.
I prefer Grenade too, they are closest to a "treat" although like you say, they are not a chocolate bar like you'd pick up a bar of dairy milk. Vive ones are very nice too, apparently Morrisons do them, but I've only ever bought online. Myprotein have done a range with Hotel Chocolat, but I've never tried these.

Something that helped me with trust issues is to understand that you can never trust anyone 100% all of the time because you cannot control others or exterior situations. You’ll go out of your mind if you try BUT what you control your response. Rather than learning to trust, it’s learning to accept perhaps you can’t but finding what you will and won’t accept, how you respond to that and the betrayal should it occur. Trust yourself to leave situations that you’re not comfortable with, have strength to do that, have ground rules and implement them, not self sabotage through second guessing and paranoia, know you can’t change someone else only they are responsible for their behaviour, knowing what level of trust you’re happy with for different situations and so on. Judgment correct or not, if you’re happy at the time with your action as a result of their perceived behaviour then it doesn’t matter, the important part is how you deal with it, and move forward, not that you made the mistake, that’s been and gone.
Also being comfortable in yourself that you’re not reliant on someone so that if you do have to remove them from your life because they’ve dropped below your comfortable level, you’ll be ok.

I hope that makes sense, I’m not being very articulate. I used to think “don’t trust anyone then you won’t be disappointed” but that’s a really sad way to live. I’m still somewhat guarded but try to find a comfortable level, understand it’s not all or nothing & trust myself to process and deal with the disappointment should it occur rather than be bitter, resentful & withdraw. It’s served me better than the former.
That's all really helpful, thank you! It's a really healthy approach to take.

My Instagram account has been suspended. When I get to the 'confirm it's you' page, it always refreshes automatically so I can't tick the box or click continue. I only created this account last week and hadn't posted anything, so I don't see how it could have broken any guidelines! I keep having these sort of issues with Instagram. Anyway, I can't make an alternative account because I'm still logged in and unable to log out. What do I do? 😬
If you got to your Instagram app settings and clear cache/data this should log you out of the account I think

It’s meant to be monthly. I do usually pay it manually but surely if they were to cancel it they have to inform me? :/ I have paid the amount as soon as I’ve received the letter but really worried about a late payment on my credit file and a default as we’ve literally gone to view a house we love today 😭
You will need to check what the credit card companies direcr debit dormancy rule is.

But I would think you have a good chance of getting the charge cancelled as you have evidence you thought the direct debit was still active.

I would give them a ring to discuss.

What is the dedicated airport express

And thanks, ideally I'd like to get the closest one that's easy enough to get too so to limit travel time on buses as I get travel sickness an honestly I have a fear of the tubes 😂 I'll walk 50 miles before I need to take one of those 5 miles
Heathrow is actually the quickest. You can take the tube to Heathrow or there’s an express train that goes direct for more money. It only takes 15 mins from Heathrow to Paddington on the express.

Stansted express is 50 mins to Liverpool Street, Gatwick Express is 30 mins to Victoria Station, Luton express is 40 mins to Kings Cross St Pancras. You could get to any of these then Uber/cab to the hotel to avoid the tube.

London City would indeed be the closest airport, it’s just very small so limited flights. You could take the DLR from here to Bank in about 20 mins and get a cab from Bank, again avoiding the tube.

Omg so that’s what Covid is like 👀 I must have caught it early days. Beginning of 2020 I had a taste of skunk that lasted less than an hour. I also called a manufacturer to complain about their putrid smelling bar of soap!!!! The memories 🤢

Get better soon @Hastaggifted ☹ 💜

eta: When OP said stomach bile and ear wax I had a Google to see if skunky is another way to describe it, and it is!! I would say congealed skunk gland really captures the experience.

Anyone got destructive pets? What do you find the best toys are for them

This will seem stupid but I have a very destructive rabbit, he free roams during the day so around 8/9am to about 10/11pm an is supervised so I can keep a eye on him an he's ok

However I recently got rid of his cage which I used for nights when am sleeping an when am out, an changed it to panels to make a sort of pen so he could free roam the bedroom without supervision an not get into things

He now however seems hell bent on destroying absolutely everything, his bed that I've had since I got him got all the stuffing ripped out it an today the litter tray got thrown about, he has his box stuffed daily with hay an some chew things like those wooden balls, but am wondering if there's anything else I can get him that he will focus his chewing on that will last as his toys don't last long
Our rabbit did this when he was lonely, could you get him a buddy?

I’m not naming my rare condition. Just because I’ve tried things suggested doesn’t make me a liar.

Be grateful you’ve never experienced having a rare illness that means you get labelled a liar for decades of your life because there’s only one specialist in the uk for it. Go through years of psychotherapy, years of lies on your medical file that stays there to find out why you want to be ill just to be diagnosed with a rare illness that can only get worse and too late for any treatments. And no, being diagnosed doesn’t wipe out you being called liar and attention seeker for years.

Nhs doesn’t have funds to help so they default to liar.

Hopefully not something you or those you care about will need to ever endure.

For those who suggested things I hadn’t tried, and were supportive, thankyou.

Ooh a difficult one. Taupe is the sensible classic choice but the lavender is so cute and would make me happy every time I used it!

My cousins are the same an I've always said if I could swap then I would 😅 I've fought with the doctors for years for a reduction but get told that because it's classed as cosmetic the NHS won't do anything even though I have genuine pains with mine
I’ve often thought about a reduction but my auntie got her’s reduced on the NHS in about 2011 and hers grew back 🤣🤣🤣😳

Does anyone know how long it takes to get blood results (Full Blood Count, Renal, Thyroid, Liver Function etc..)?

I got my blood drawn on Thursday morning but I haven’t hear anything yet. I’m a bit worried as I still have a lump on my neck that’s been there since late October. I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about but I’m anxious to get some answers as to why I’ve been feeling off.
You need an ultra sound on it asap. Call the dr today and insist if you havent already x

Check the move in read- or, did you switch suppliers?
I switched when I moved in and submitted a meter read. When I moved out i’m sure I gave a meter read. Fast forward from 2020 to 23 they are now saying based on an actual read from 3/5/20 that I used this ridiculous amount. I moved out 12/04/20 so i couldn’t have sent that read. Unfortunately I don’t seem to have any access to what that read was that I submitted as it was an online portal.

Sounds like it could apply in this case? Maybe i should see if i can get in touch with the energy ombudsman

Can I ask why? Is it especially rude? My logic is that it’s a sharp noise to grab his attention, like a clap, when kids have selective deafness. Like okay Jimmy I’ve said your name twice I’ll try punctuating it with a noise to get your attention.
Exactly that - I used to clap sometimes if my kids weren't listening, I probably didn't click my fingers but that's only because I'm not very dexterous and I can never get clicking to make much of a sound, hence a clap was noiser and more effective! I never thought of it as being rude.

That said, I said excuse me loudly behind someone in a shop the other week (I said excuse me already twice and been ignored, so raised the volume the 3rd time!) and they got proper shitty 'oh alright love, calm down'

I hate being told to calm down, when I'm quite calm I just want you to stop blocking the aisle you plum!

Can you take a load of coins in to the bank branch and have them put in to your account still? We have about £50 in small coins, including old £1 coins not bagged or sorted. Should I be sorting them before I take them in or do they use a machine now? 😂 haven’t been in branch for years. Also would a high street HSBC branch still take back the old £1s?
I can only speak for Lloyds - my son has done this recently with a similar amount - they gave him the bags and asked him to sort it there, as they would only take it if it was sorted into bags of £1s, 50ps, etc

As for the old £1s, I think banks will still allow you to deposit them but won't exchange them (if that makes sense).

I am never sure if all the supplements are doing anything but giving me expensive wee tbh but the theanine /magnesium tip above is from Andrew Huberman who seems to know his shit (Stanford neuroscientist!)
tbf, I have been so miserable and anxious so struggling to eat, even if it's placebo doing something I'll take it.

Thank you for the tip. I take it with my evening meal usually as I can't take tablets on an empty stomach

I brushed my teeth last night and went off to bed, woke up a few hours later with the most disgusting taste in my mouth. Like a kind of ear wax and stomach bile mix. Had a drink of water which made it worse. Jumped out of bed and brushed my teeth again, it settled it a bit but not fully. Went back to sleep, woke up and the taste was in full force. Brushed my teeth, had breakfast, trying to get the taste out of my mouth but its still there. Its affecting everything I eat or drink. Google isn't very helpful. Any idea?!
Sinus or throat infection? Or did you do any cleaning with bleach? That stays up my nose for ages!

I had covid last week, I have tested negative since. Could this still be an ongoing side affect? It's is disgusting. I feel fine in myself and no longer coughing.

It's the same taste no matter what I do. I've flossed, scrubbed my teeth multiple times and even brushed my tongue as far back as I can possibly reach. I've used corosodyl (sp?) To try and kill the taste. I have the minty fresh taste for 5 minutes and then the ear waxy taste come back 🥲.

I have Christmas food to eat and this is ruining my life 🤣🤣🤣🥲🥲🐷🐷
Jip, some people had their taste and smell affected for up to 3 months. Mine was only a few days but you shouldn't wake up feeling like there is an awful taste
Which makes me think you probably have a sinus or flu issue
