Does anyone have any experience on cancelling their membership and how?
They won’t let you cancel, you have to email them to say you want to. The only way I got out of it was to pay off the remainder and that was with me telling them my dr advised I stop their programme.

Thank you. After reading through all of these posts, it added to the already uncomfortable feeling and general concerns I had regarding Team RH. I have been a member for about 18 months and successfully lost just over a stone and a half. I’ve no problem with ‘the plan’, calorie deficit makes sense, but I’m sick to death of juvenile name-calling and the constant ‘baiting’ posts. I’ve now emailed and cancelled my membership.

Im 'back on plan' today and in a real conundrum. My scales broke hence the eerk break and i thoroughly enjoyed not weighing everything! But i know that i do need to lose weight, ive already paid for the plan and it does make sense.

But i dont like the name calling, the complete lack of empathy for those who struggle to weigh food. I do struggle because i work in a busy job and weighing my bagel individually and everything bloody else tskes twice the time to make it!
I enjoy going for walks but hitting the steps is a problem - im on 2000 right now, and workinh through until 5pm when im off to the shop for popcorn for film night with friend. Ill probably get to 10000 but struggle getting anywhere further.
Also its not k owing what to do - last time i think it was too many plates spinning with macros etc. For now im just thinking about hitting my calories and steps but its.difficully. if i smash my steps im not as focused on work and vise versa. And work has to come first!!

I asked on the group and wss advised to gp for walks when on work calls - i work with offenders, need to look at manuals and make notes while talking and besides its not very professional to have background noise of cars etc! Was advised to out wahsing away 1 item at a time - fine for weekends, but during the week my tasks need to be time effective not step effective

I also mentioned that i prioritise sleep to get 8hrs - ao if i go for a walk and get home at 630, after finishing work, ill be on around 9000 steps. Then itll be until 730 to make and eat tea. Then i am going to colour and watch tv or do an NA meeting as i need to gor my mental health, which takes mr to around 9pm. Then ill have a shower, cuppa tea and read in bed until 1030 when its bedtime. So not a lot of free time there to do steps in!! No one had any tips of course to help.

Well all I'd say is firstly don't stress about it. 9000 steps a day is better than none!
We have to do what works for us and our lives, don't let anyone dictate what you do.

Small changes lead to big things. Keep doing what you can, try and maintain a deficit where you can and whilst you may not lose as quickly as they think you should, anything that's helping to improve health is a bonus.

My nurse said to me they'd be pleased if people lost 2lb a month, if it was consistent ... it all adds up to embedd things which eventually become the norm.

Good luck, but sounds like you're doing real well already 😄

I think TRH try to overwhelm people so that they'll feel helpless going it alone but as long as you eat below your TDEE you'll lose weight, even if you did zero exercise and sat down all day. Exercise is great for mental health and for overall physical health such as building stronger muscles and keeping your joints active but it isn't necessary to walk 15,000 steps a day. Looking after your mental health is as important, if not more important, than looking after your physical health, otherwise you'll crash and burn.

Similarly, you don't need to worry too much about macros while losing weight. Getting some protein in with most/every meal, and making sure you have some healthy sources of large and some vegetables/fruit and you'll be eating pretty good, there's always time to refine it when you get closer to goal.

For those that have gone across from rh to preece did your calories remain similar if you kept the same level of activity. I love my food and don’t really want to take a hit in calories lol. Ta

I am not sure, but if you got more or less cals than rh, let them know and they will work with you. As much as I have no time for rh, if you are losing and the plan is working, no need to switch unless prefer different outlook to your journey ❤

I’ve seen people suggest portable ‘handbag’ scales for when out and about. That’s just too far imo.
That is a prime example of taking dieting too far

Omg I’m so glad I found this!! I thought it was only me that thought this way!! These guys add to eating disorders massively it made me relapse massively!! I know a few who have tried with them as they want a change and have just piled the weight on once they’ve had a bad few days off plan!!! I lost the plot after a few weeks, the price I paid for a year I expected proper help and support! I expected a detailed weekly support network but you get nothing of the sort! It overwhelmed me massively left me feeling confused and useless and that I was failing! Also the scales they sent me were dodgy!! They read 14lb on the end of every stone!! Not 13lb then up to next stone bracket! I threw them out months ago and bought my own from Amazon! It’s taken me 4 months of beating myself up and a another stone gain to get back on track!! I’d lost 100lb on my own in 17 months (maintained for 18months) eating well and exercising, therapy for my binge and comfort eating but panicked in lock down when I gained 18 lbs back so looked to them for support!! What a massive mistake that was!! It put me back years
Well I’m now back holding off 73lbs, I’ve been loosing on my own for 5 weeks now just loosing around 1lb a week ,feeling strong and positive again! Here’s to the future without this crazy controlling messed up plan that is truly dangerous!! My journey will still be a long one but the fact that I’m on it is the important thing! I’m so sorry others have had bad times with them, something just be done to get these guys away from the public!! Good luck to you all on your journeys xxxxx

It should not be allowed locking people into a years subscription. They harp on about it being on £6.99 per month but its still over 12 months and a lot can happen in a year.

I was tempted to join up last year but so glad I didn’t ! I’m a frequent member of slimming world but in January I made a decision that I will never pay again for someone to say I need to lose weight ! I know I need to shift a bit of weight and I decided to do it on my own just calorie counting and trying to get out walking as much as possible and just do it at a sensible pace and not to wear myself out doing ridiculous hit workouts etc !
I’ve lost 10lb since Christmas and feel I’m doing it in a more manageable way and I don’t need to pay anyone ever again 💰 💰

Everyone should read Anti-Diet by Christy Harrison. It’s made me feel so much better about enjoying food. I’ve also discovered that thin inactive people are more likely to have health problems than overweight / obese active people. So it’s less about diet and large and more about moving your body in ways you enjoy.

Yes they triggered off my disordered eating too. I thought I would get a tailored mutation plan to support my fitness, but I just got a diet plan, got addicted to losing pounds again and am having to relearn how to love myself as I am and try not to binge after being starved for months. 95% of diets don’t work for this very reason and I am exhausted from the ordeal of it all. That’s why Richie and Rachael spend their whole life dieting and bulking, as they don’t know how to live a normal balanced life anymore and push their disordered eating into others for profit.

I’m working on it, my metabolism is trashed from starving down so much, I’ve gotten my period back finally though and am not freezing cold all the time, have put weight on faster than I’d like but I’ll balance out again like I usually do. ❤
