What was the email you used please? Can't seem to find one. I signed up to rh start of first lockdown, seemed like a good idea at the time but now realising it's a load of crock. Actually very little individual support offered, and fed up of wearing my carpet out walking on the spot for hours at a time 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ I'll just use mfp for free without the stress of trying to get a gold bloody star!
Hi here it is xx

If he started on you after reading an anonymous forum, that would just prove what a psycho he is and I'd be taking police action against him. Because even if you said specific things, without admitting your name he would have NO PROOF it was you.

I’ll be back with all the tea once I can distance myself a bit. Needless to say, I have extreme concerns and after speaking to qualified nutritionists, have been proven right.

He can’t complain if you’re telling the truth.

Saying that don’t post unless you’re completely comfortable doing it. It is anonymous but sometimes it’s quite easy to work out who someone is.

Many years ago I got a pm from a friend who’d worked out who I was on a huge forum from a couple of details I’d put on a post that I didn’t think were particularly identifying.

I will say this much: long post coming.

So... I wanted to get fit, over lockdown, I’d put on a few pounds and thought I wanted a bit of help with it.

Team RH said they could help teach nutrition but you still eat real food. Fantastic! So I learned I definitely needed more protein to support the exercise I do, that’s good, more fibre, more water, more movement. Healthy. But then they teach you to ignore your body’s signals.

They don’t monitor if you’re taking it too far. Before Xmas I felt I got too thin, so I started eating more (off of their plan) I felt better for it. I messaged them and said so and they said I had to go back to tracking every calorie even if I wasn’t happy with it as that’s the only way it works, fair enough...

I said I’ve reached my goal, what now? They added me into a group with a load of women with their bones sticking out who are then instructed to get their partners to use callipers on them and pinch their body large each week to see if they are gaining body large. If they do, 100 cals down, if they don’t, 100 cals up. The only way to avoid the body large going up, is to do weights and build muscle and if that doesn’t work, you’re not trying hard enough...

As a feminist it didn’t sit right with me at all!

The women are all very lost and stressed and constantly asking if they look large / need to diet more. There is minimal official help as the owner (Richie) admits this is 5% of his client base so they invest in the people losing large as a priority.

The women are told to bulk, there is one woman held as the poster child for bulking who is eating something like 3400 calories a day (up and down 100 a week 😱) who is clearly just putting loads of weight on again who will then be expected to “cut” and reveal the muscle. But there is no instruction offered for anyone that doesn’t want to be a body builder. When I said I had had numerous panic attacks over using these callipers, especially as I have no training and it was telling me I was obese on the website you enter the data into, they (the coaches) just told me I need to practice more. How do you practice something you have no training in?! How can you say it’s safe for people who have prior disordered eating habits (I told them this from the start) to pinch bits of large endlessly? I am really shocked and disgusted. I have reached out to others in the industry who have said that callipers work, if you want to be a body builder, but intuitive eating and learning about food is better mentally and unfortunately, in my option, team rh do not teach this outside of starve / bulk.

That’s terrible! And surely people constantly taking body large measurements and getting stressed about it is far worse than the weighing weekly at a slimming club he rants so much about? I’m really starting to despair because I do need to lose weight but essentially every plan (including his) involves obsessive measures, which is how I ruined my relationship with food and put weight on in the first place. I really want to be slimmer and healthier but I don’t want to live a life measuring milk in tea to the ml, getting stressed over whether I should weigh pasta cooked or dry or trying to hit an excessive protein target!

don’t despair! Protein is good, calorie counting can work if you do it healthily. Contact Preece nutrition. He’s been so wonderful this morning.

A feminist is Richie's (finger my hole) worst nightmare 😉 well done you for listening to your head and heart and having the strength to realise that this is wrong!! He needs stopping. Poking at people with a calliper like some prized cow going going market is just absurd!!! We are all NORMAL people who joined his "team" who do not need nazi type behaviours trying to turn you into a 2% large chicken breast. He's completely lost sight of what people want. He's put his own wants, goals (money) aspirations before his clients MH and personal goals and he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the public. Most members don't WANT to look like a fitness model!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I stand by what I've said before, where are all his success stories? Because if his methods were so much better than anything else out there, there would be thousands of success stories. I can't remember many!

When you say “oh this is too much I just want a balanced life” you get “we fully understand that, but follow the bulking rules and maintain” with no explanation of how to do so. It’s extremely dangerous.

I feel like these fitness experts will go the same way as ‘clean eating’. Some day people will call the whole industry out as the unregulated, dangerous, eating disorder promoting, money grabbing band wagon that it is. That day can’t come soon enough!

This is what I’ve done with Preece. Lost nearly two stone and now just try to exercise regularly and be a bit more mindful when I eat. I’ve stayed in the group as it’s a nice, supportive place to be.

I had orhorexia. If I ate anything “dirty” I’d have to cleanse / run for hours. I HATE that I’ve been suckered in by these guys.
