I was a member about 3 years ago. It’s an absolutely vile toxic group with no support at all.

I have struggled with BED my whole life because of a parent who restricted my food, used to use our dog to chase me around a field to exercise and berated me constantly for being overweight.

I’ve never successfully lost weight as emotional overeating always wins. I once asked for help in the group and Richie made me the subject of one of his rants. Using my full name. Calling me lazy and pathetic. Told me I was going to die. Told me I will never lose weight because I am weak and I actually don’t deserve to be thin or deserve his help.

At the time I was working 40 hours a week in my main job, then building a business which was another 30 hours a week - I tried to explain to him I didn’t have time to get 15,000 steps in but it was just pathetic excuses apparently. He set me back years. I’ve still not made any progress on my weight loss as in the back of my mind I hear his voice and my dads about how I’ll always be fat and lazy.

Im glad people have mentioned Preece - I always liked him and was aware of the fallout and the poor woman who was getting legal letters etc - I hope she stood her ground and stood up to them. Maybe I will have a look at Preece today and see if it’s time to make some changes.
I honestly do not know how people can ever support him for calling you lazy and pathetic, it seems to be some sort of cult group who adore being treat like rubbish.

Why have watchdog or national newspapers not got hold of someone with hundreds of thousands of followers calling people excuse makers, and more worryingly there are hundreds if not thousands with the most horrendous of dealings with them. If you join somewhere and do not lose weight, then fair play, no progress but start again elsewhere or another diet entirely etc. However to come away with feeling suicidal or with PTSD symptoms is large scale abuse in my opinion, how is he getting away with it?

Oh my the level of arrogance is unreal and he is completely clueless if he thinks a stay at home mum does nothing. My mum was a stay at home mum and she never stopped! And theoretically I’m a stay at home mum at the moment (I work part time but I’m working from home currently) and it’s constant - tidying, making meals, doing washing, housework, food shopping, entertaining kids, out for walks, home schooling - more than he could ever get his self absorbed head around! Knob!
My SIL and I both got fitbits for Xmas when they first came out. We teamed up and set competitions between us. At the time she was a stay at home mum of two under twos and my kids were up a bit and at school. I was between jobs rather than a SAHM. She beat me every single day doing well in excess of 20,000 steps, sometimes without leaving the house.

Im ashamed i got sucked in tbh. It wasnt a quick decision either ive been following on fb for 3yrs and liked whst they were saying. Im still gonna stay in as ive paid for the year and i am losing weight. Just taking everything said with a pinch of salt and continying to be a voice of reason on there.

I think its a clear sign of unprofessionalism that instead of addressing and responding to concerns or comments in a calm mammer , he refers to it as 'kicking off in the comments'as though people are toddlers and not full grown adults. Anyone who dares to want to watch corrie of an evening with a cuppa is told to 'stop fingering your bumhole to corrie and get some steps in' and low and betide you if you want to put your steps down. Having some tea now and im only on 10000 steps and am not bouncing like a demented person getting them in yay!

I’ve noticed this myself, lots of people on RH or Munro have lost the majority of their weight on slimming world then lose the last little bit on calories or macros, then act as though it was all lost on the RH or Munro plan which is essentially false advertising. I don’t think any of these plans are sustainable, weighing every single gram of food, double checking the nutritional information on the package or online and doing ridiculous amounts of steps a day is probably just as difficult to stick to long term than any other “plan”.
So true! Plus some of the accounts I follow severely restrict themselves. If you are taking protein powder on a two week trip and are scared to take your activity tracker off then you have food control issues. I’m not a huge fan of SW due to the terminology they use but it’s no different to any other group. Not every person who joins a slimming club will end up with an eating disorder or food issues. I see so many of the cal counting groups scouring the supermarkets for the latest low cal treat, kidding themselves that eat lean cheese tastes like real cheese and that stirring protein powder into 0% Greek yogurt is their preferred dessert. How about add some berries to full fat Greek yogurt and enjoy some whole food rather than a filtered milk powder!

I think hes so controlling. Really regretting joining now. Have paid outtight so will follow plan but definitely not following their every move on fb. Its how he doesnt disclose what was said just how awful it is and how the fand rush to their aid despite not knowing them! Its how his personal life is splashed about and how he actually thinks tbe abuse and perfectionism as a result is a good thing (responsible morelling to clients there!). How when hes doi g videos its on rachels pglhpne and her mfp. I nust wonder how many boundaries rsxhel actually has. Poor thing. Hes a twat

If this was me, i would hate for 1000s of people to be told about this and showering me with Youre ao amazing platitudes as though they knew me - id rather forget the whole thing. Not have my twat of a boyfriend air my stuff in public

There are a few more people raising the point of free speecb and how petty it was and the potential consequences and how this is to be anticipated if you work in the public eye ... tons more richie fans arguing back but there are some sensible folk!

That last sentence sounds quite aggressive to me ...
" learning the troll a lesson" ha ha , how thick!!

Doesn't get any better does it?
Wow that sounds like a threat, not a promise of help?! Why would you go after someone and start harassing them again, when they clearly don't want anything to do with you?!??! Care deeply 🤣 oh my. They didn't care at all till they left an honest review

Oh no, I’ve always thought Rachel is gorgeous and had a lovely figure I’ll have to go and look!

Like I’ve said up thread I’ve been tempted to join on a couple of occasions but hesitant as thought I’ve come a long way from my ED days (too far, hence being familiar with slimming clubs and wanting to join Team RH 😂) but the page is just so full of triggers I fear I’d be back to square one. Some of the before pics on there I just think there was nothing wrong with them in the first place! Calorie counting isn’t rocket science but it’s way to easy to get obsessed with, also makes cooking proper food a complete nightmare!
Good on you an ED is the hardest thing to conquere in the world, you can live without alcohol and drugs but food and drink is life.

There's deffo better trainers and plans out there than these turds!

That’s terrible! And surely people constantly taking body fat measurements and getting stressed about it is far worse than the weighing weekly at a slimming club he rants so much about? I’m really starting to despair because I do need to lose weight but essentially every plan (including his) involves obsessive measures, which is how I ruined my relationship with food and put weight on in the first place. I really want to be slimmer and healthier but I don’t want to live a life measuring milk in tea to the ml, getting stressed over whether I should weigh pasta cooked or dry or trying to hit an excessive protein target!
don’t despair! Protein is good, calorie counting can work if you do it healthily. Contact Preece nutrition. He’s been so wonderful this morning.

I don’t believe it does! In the second screenshot he is justifying why Rach hasn’t been on camera much (like has been picked up on in this thread...) blaming trolls , not himself.
Yeah I pointed out on here that she’s rarely on camera and I believe the fatigue is due to her being exhausted from pushing herself too hard and not eating enough. It’s easier to blame the trolls isn’t it?

I remember that and they proper heavily harassed the former affiliate for a long time. I think and I might be remembering it wrongly but that James Smith's team helped her out in the end.
I think you’re right, they treated her horribly and she seems like a lovely person. Loads of ex affiliates and ex staff seem to have horror stories to tell about Richie! Too many for it to be untrue in my opinion!

What do the affiliates actually do and what do they get out of it?

I watched the video linked above and i can’t understand what they bring to the group in order to progress to elite status? Can someone explain?

I have a story that is alleged, take with a pinch of salt, however from what I know of him I personally can imagine this to have happened very easily, but again absolute disclaimer here lol. Also can not remember exact details but you very much get the overview.

A friend of mine was speaking out about him on Instagram and got messaged by someone in North East (probably Sunderland area), he concurred along the lines of him being awful. However before he came to that conclusion for himself, he actually recommended Team RH to a girl at his work rather than join Slimming World. She joined, had reasonable success/failure, kind of stopped following it after a month or so.
However she kept paying her monthly membership despite not following it, and was always one of these things she kept meaning to do, to cancel her membership.
Then one day she was edging forward to drive onto a main road, she started to pull out and should not have, so although not causing a crash or anything major, she still had pulled out a little onto a road. So a van had to move a few yards across a lane and then the car behind had stopped/slowed right down. The car behind had a man shouting really aggressively, throwing arms, obviously effing and jeffing. She then noticed he was with a blonde girl, and also clicked on it was Richie and Rachael. She was really quite shook (not sure if it was anger, being scared etc), but she went home that day and made sure to cancel her membership with them.
He got wind of her trying to cancel her membership so he tried to hunt her down... aww bless him was that in the old battered car he couldn't afford to replace because he was so invested in his members and deffo not in it for the money 😄

By the time I joined the calorie clubs had already been closed - what sort of stuff used to be in them?
Members with same calorie allowance used to share recipes etc,and discuss how they were getting on with the 'plan',but when people started saying they weren't losing weight, (how dare they complain??😉)he closed the clubs down!
He did a live explaining why, saying the negativity was bringing the group down, so no fucking moaning!!! All his disciples agreed with him.....of course!

,
I just emailed ashbourne and told them i wished to cancel, that was it, which i did at the beginning of this month, my contract ended October last year .
What was the email you used please? Can't seem to find one. I signed up to rh start of first lockdown, seemed like a good idea at the time but now realising it's a load of crock. Actually very little individual support offered, and fed up of wearing my carpet out walking on the spot for hours at a time 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ I'll just use mfp for free without the stress of trying to get a gold bloody star!

I feel like these fitness experts will go the same way as ‘clean eating’. Some day people will call the whole industry out as the unregulated, dangerous, eating disorder promoting, money grabbing band wagon that it is. That day can’t come soon enough!

He’s an absolute loon! Cannot ask a question without him loosing the plot. Also everyone had to do 15000 steps a day. If you said you couldn’t do this, you were basically called lazy. Peter was lovely, he’s gone on his own now. Peter Preece Nutrition. Jason from Munro was out of order in my opinion, totally ripped RH Fitness off!
There’s definitely some sort of personality disorder there, he either makes a joke of stuff like an adolescent or he’s ridiculously aggressive. And I’m no snowflake, I usually don’t give a hoot about swearing but his language is absolutely foul and totally unprofessional. I do think Munro ripped them off and I think he’s sneaky but Peter is a true gent and his group is lovely.

Not me personally as I cancelled ages ago and was one of the originals I think so on the old paypal payment, but a few people on this thread have mentioned being hounded. I don’t understand how they are getting away with this, surely if you’ve cancelled and not using the service they don’t have a leg to stand on? It’s disgusting.
It’s seriously draining the constant messages from them and Ashbourne
Team rh are like they can’t do anything about the direct debit as its collected from Ashbourne
But surely Ashbourne is under there instruction
So then I keep getting threatening emails from Ashbourne who say cancelling is down to team rh
