I saw that one too. She was very thin. I'm waiting to hear back from Ashbourne as to whether they'll let me cancel.

So sorry you've had these struggles with them. You are deffo not alone. Hope you're feeling a bit healthier and more in control now you are not listening to unqualified idiots, who never ever listen to people.

I would say you are well within your grounds to contact them and tell them you're not paying for their services anymore. Delete all their data/apps and they can't charge you for it. They are absolutely disgusting and need exposing. We all need to complain to trading standards about them, because giving out unqualified advice is pure dangerous.
Thank you. I hadn’t thought of that but it’s worth a shot. I do feel that they aren’t qualified to give out diet advice and should be mindful of doing so when people have health conditions. It’s not always an excuse and sadly that seems to be the general consensus of TRH. You’re making an excuse. You’re lazy. Work harder. Track better. Do more. Ironically, someone with a thyroid condition has slipped through the net and has posted about not having good results. Can’t wait to see his response to that lol.

I hadn’t thought of that, about deleting the app. I do think they will argue their point that they have supplied a service blah blah blah. I feel they have a culture of blaming the client. If it’s not worked for you it’s because YOU aren’t doing enough/ tracking incorrectly /
Lazy etc . Well what about when you are doing it all and more and still not losing weight? Surely a face to face PT/ nutritionist would say, something needs tweaking here. Let’s drop the calories by 50 and see how that goes? Something practical and reasonable? No TRH. They know best. Well.. you also expect them to. That’s why you’re paying them!! Sadly, I feel that there is less accountability on their part and that they do get it wrong. I’m probably a minority but I am paying client all the same and they haven’t given the guaranteed weight loss they promised.

I do feel they need to be more ‘transparent,’ ( he loves that word!) about the lack of qualified coaches they use to dish out the copy and paste replies. I also feel they need to be more mindful of people’s health conditions and not assume that members with existing health conditions are using them for an excuse as they very often allude to.
Feeling much better about it seeing this thread and realising I am not alone with being dissatisfied. Thank you

So sorry to hear this. The calories they set clients are ridiculous. Depending on a persons height, weight, gender, activity levels 1400 calories may be required for weight loss. It is not dangerous. So many people shout about being in ‘starvation mode’ when this isn’t something we need to worry about. I believe that they clients huge calorie allowances to draw them in ‘no starving on our plan, fill your boots’. To lose weight it is all calorie deficit. You could do it without working out (wouldn’t recommend it though, exercise has many benefits and shouldn’t he used just for weight loss). I’m a qualified nutritionist and weight management consultant and bouncing around 24/7 in your living room whilst deep throating a banana is not required for weight loss. Just know you gave it your all and did everything they asked x
This made me lol! Thank you. I’m still working out and I’m still active but I’m doing it alone. I’ve dropped my calories and eating a diet more in line with those for reducing diabetes. I was forcing myself to eat my calories and hit my protein and fibre goals daily. I feel better already just for eating less.

This is the one place they have zero control over either 🤭 just waiting for one of them to come on and rant and it'll be a big 🖕 from Tattle..

They always blame the customer, which is just disgusting. Many people have been shamed by their little gang. They sometimes listen half-arsed but mostly they just shout "you're not tracking accurately" It's not always the answer. Deffo not alone, you're among friends here who agree with you 😽

Honestly you’ll be doing the right thing. If weight loss is for diabetes I’d ask for a referral to a dietician via the NHS. They will be able to assist you.

I asked for help with this and as I’m pre-diabetic they said it would have to be tackled with diet. However, they gave me a sheet and a meeting with a nurse who told me what to eat and to avoid. That’s it.
However, think I’m going to go back and show them what I’ve been doing for the last 4 months and see what they say about it all

They’ve fobbed you off. They do weight loss classes that last 12 months called More Life and another one (depending on your BMI). These groups are ran by a nutritionist and counsellor. You meet once a week via zoom and tackle weight loss issues and how to make lifestyle choices without doing a fad diet. You can also get up to 12 weeks of PT sessions (not during lockdown). Ask to speak to your GP and they can refer you xx

The Fast 800 by Michael Mosley is brilliant for fast weight loss and to often reverse T2 / pre T2 diabetes.

My Aunty did this and lost 2st, sadly she went to T1 (although the dr said this would have always been the outcome for her).

As a current member, I have felt so fed up with the group! Finally, somewhere where you can discuss issues and not get shut down for having an opinion that differs from the cult of TRH. I do feel it’s become like a cult, full of sycophants and woe betide the non believers.

*Long Post*
I do not have any issue with the concept of the plan. I think it’s obvious to state that every individual burns calories at differing rates and requires a calorie deficit specific to them for it to work.
My own experience was that I had been diagnosed as pre- diabetic, whilst not grossly overweight by most people’s standards, I was classed as obese by the NHS for my height. I managed to very, very slowly lose weight using MFP but still had a stone and a half to lose. I’d watched Richie and his page for many years and decided to join up.

I was set a calorie amount which I thought was way to high but I thought, maybe I’ve been eating too little and that’s why I’ve stalled? Set my steps at 10k and workout 3 times a week. Off we go...
I put weight on from the very first week. I upped my steps... they upped my calories... I upped my workouts and they wanted to up my calories. After 2 months and no weight loss.. ( bearing in mind I’m now half a stone heavier than when I started), I asked for help. The help was forthcoming but it wasn’t err, helpful. I spoke to a coach, their ‘top coach’ who went through all my data on MFP and the app. I had been the perfect client and tracked everything and she couldn’t find fault with anything apart from I’d added a slice of brown bread but hadn’t weighed it... twice. She told me tracking generically would cost me a lot of calories long term doing this. She also told me there was nothing wrong with what I was eating/drinking/ exercising and to stick at it. I explained I was legitimately concerned I’d gained weight and it wasn’t budging. I was also worried that I was in fact now maintaining considering all the exercise I was doing ( well over 15k a day on most days). She said it was likely muscle gains. She told me to trust the plan. So I did.
Cut to just after 3 months and now working out 5 times a week ( resistance training), 15k a day steps. No weight lost. Muscle definition coming through but my waist is getting bigger and so is my stomach. I contact the coaches and as I’d done progress pictures, I felt the undeniable truth was there for them to see. I was told they could see a difference. ( Yes, I’d got fatter!! ) When I asked them to specify where they saw physical differences in the pictures, they didn’t answer me. They told me to do more steps... and tried to make me up my calories and I refused. I pointed out I was now back to my dangerous pre diabetic weight and i had concerns about my health. I told them I’d had to buy bigger clothes as I couldn’t fit in old ones.
I felt the responses were literally cut and pasted from a data base of TRH material. Look at this video... follow these rules... absolutely felt like they didn’t have the expertise to address my very individual concerns. Found out that the coach is not qualified. Just someone who uses TRH and works out a lot by the look of it. No one ever said.. go and get checked at your Dr, this is unusual or anything remotely like that. Just stick to the plan. I had to negotiate to drop my calorie amount down to 1400 ( lowering my exercise days and steps) and when I said I wasn’t losing I was told that it was impossible not to Lose weight at 1400 calories, and Equating this amount to something a 7 year old child would Eat. So I was told to stick at it and get back in touch in 2 weeks.
Well I haven’t, I am so utterly disillusioned with their approach. I am doing it on my own again. As someone who gave it their all for 3 months I feel as though I didn’t fit Richies data “algorithm’ and no one could tell me why. Still
Paying as a member.
Due to his controlling nature I couldn’t even find members to speak to for their experiences, as he squashed the calorie clubs. His ego is out of control and I can’t bear to read the POD posts. It’s so false.
I’m outraged on your behalf, especially as you’ve paid good money and taken all the advice and the person advising you isn’t even properly qualified, it’s disgraceful. Everyone is different and some people need fewer calories to successfully lose weight. Personally i would rather eat less calories and not have to jump around a room like a hyperactive child, but it seems that everyone on team RH would rather run around like the Duracell bunny so they can scoff another few hundred calories a day! 🤣 Maybe i’m just lazy!

They are vile people, narcasistic and bullies.

Rachel gives me second hand embarrassment when she does these exercise videos, the shouting, the skimpy shorts and the acting. Glad I left before the whole app thing, I was in the Facebook group 3 years ago and there wasn't a fee

Right ok. Thanks for this, good to know!! I am definitely going to make an appointment and ask about this. I had no idea!! Thank you for this.

I have all the books and these were the principles I followed when I lost weight last time but it was very slow. I didn’t stick to the 800 cals daily but more of the 5:2 approach. Maybe I should knuckle down and do it properly.

The GP’s need to be pushed to do more regarding weight loss. Instead of doing 800 cals maybe introduce it slowly. Just do one day to start. The carb counter books are good and if you go on the diabetic website they have some great ideas.

I am wondering if TRH would be on dodgy ground in a court of law if they went there trying to to say they had provided a service. Particularly if you have followed their plan and maintained or gained weight.

Even the hated SW and WW clubs offer a full refund if after a certain number of weeks you haven't lost weight.

Personally I think Richie needs to accept that their plan is fine for many people but should be used with caution and only in conjunction with a doctor if the individual has diabetes or thyroid issues. SW produce specific booklets for diabetics and although o have no real time for SW they do at least acknowledge that everyone is different.

I think the plan is great for those who have lost the bulk of their weight on another plan such as SW and then need guidance for going forward and maintaining.

Rachel gets off very lightly in my opinion, she turns a blind eye to what is obviously an awful narcissist that has made a lot of people unhappy/upset! Mind I have seen a post they did recently (Richie posted something similar before) about how Rachel is her own person/individual etc, persist too much? In my opinion he controls her and he is trying to convince everyone that he does not.

Not many are calling the plan (although their coaching/approach seems to have faults), it is the human beings they seem to very much not be that appears online.

It's laughable how they seem to think they're enlightening the world with their discovery of calorie deficit, therefore everyone is beneath them 😂 it's a basic function of the body.
