I couldn’t agree with you more. Tanya really could have expanded with her make up range and turned it into a credible brand ( with lots of help from other people!)It's actually crazy to think that if she stuck at her Tanya Burr Cosmetics line and improved on making the packaging less gimmicky etc over time it could have evolved into something HUGE and became its own entity as Real Techniques did.
I just don't understand her career moves.
She starts off working on a makeup counter/becoming a makeup artist and then making videos coming across as sweet and mature and you could tell she loved doing it. Then YouTube and social media in general really start to take off and she turns into this overly ditsy/dim/downright stupid character of a person like the rest of the UK Gleam team all trying to appeal to children so they can rinse the parents of their money. She launches her makeup line SUCCESSFULLY in stores and it all made SENSE. That was the moment she should have matured with her social media and business. It could have ended up being what Glossier is today which is clearly what she's trying to do now.
Instead, she publishes THREE books about herself, baking and bloody Christmas which made no sense apart from getting money. If I had published 3 books that I was actually proud of I wouldn't want people to just forget. You can tell she never actually cared and is just embarrassed by it all. So while she's off pleasing the money-making-machine Gleam with Hello World and whatever else, other influencers were popping up all over the place gaining popularity even quicker and not acting like dim children pleasing idiots in the process, quickly making the OGs completely irrelevant and washed up because they couldn't just be themselves and stick to one thing, they had to be as greedy as possible.
Then when she's becoming irrelevant and her marriage is falling apart she has a quarter-life crisis and deludes herself into thinking she can be the next big A-list celebrity actor not from her lifelong gained skills or passion but from her sheer entitlement. Suddenly she thinks she's completely above everything that's got her to where she is today, which is now nothing more than 3 million inactive Instagram accounts that are still following her and 10 seconds of airtime in unknown films.
I think now she's in her 30s she's realised how ridiculous it was to attempt to get into acting with no actual talent to begin with. In a few years, she'll refuse to acknowledge her failed acting career like she refuses to acknowledge her YouTube channel and everything else she's done. She's come full circle back to having another makeup line except now the industry is absolutely saturated with them and she chooses to come out with BLAND NEUTRAL SIMPLE products with the most awful confusing branding and marketing I've ever seen. Even if the 4 products make a profit, how much money will she even earn if it's being split between 4 directors and a bit to Shopify??
Also, I did some digging and Guy and Yasmine who are listed as directors, both have a random 3-year-old company called Elementary Brands. Both Tanya and Elementary Brands have shares in Authored. Brand creation for HIGH-PROFILE INDIVIDUALS hahhahahah alright. Anyways this will all flop and I'm guessing she'll probs come out with a gold jewellery line next or something who knows.

Also, have you noticed how she copied the title idea from Friends? How about coming up with something yourself, Tarn?

Good god...Aside from all the spelling errors, and maybe I'm being nitpicky about the layout here but it looks so dumb to have "ingredients" right under the "what's in it tab". The word 'ingredients' should really only be visible when you open the tab because the layout makes it look like they're taking the piss out of potential customers. "What's in it? INGREDIENTS" is how it comes across to me?
This is interesting... Elementary Brands were the company behind Lydia Millen's failed fake tan equipment launch in 2020. I can't remember all of the details but it was disastrous from even before it launched, with many delays etc - so it looks like the same has happened with Tanya. They seem to specialise in badly launching incredibly overpriced, basic products that do not sell well for terrible influencers. It's actually crazy to think that if she stuck at her Tanya Burr Cosmetics line and improved on making the packaging less gimmicky etc over time it could have evolved into something HUGE and became its own entity as Real Techniques did.

Yes that is it. 'We're not normal makeup we are different makeup' IT IS STILL MAKEUP.The mascara actually looks not bad. Had she focused solely on the products, it may have done at least a little bit better. She's all over the place with the stupid woke marketing. Said they wanted to create a line without social pressures while in the next caption stating on the brand's page:
'Thoughtfully created for daily life, we bring you a set of go-to products designed for an “I’ve got this” feeling at the start of your day and a look that’s truly your own.'
She's still telling people they need makeup to feel good and put their best foot forward. A makeup brand telling you they're not prescribing a certain image while selling you makeup and essentially prescribing a certain image. Does she not realize how stupid she sounds?
There's nothing wrong with makeup. Just own it. Own that you're a makeup brand and stop trying so hard to be different and dEeP for no reason and not making any sense in the process.
The only thing I'd buy from this woman would be a crypt.
I think they misspelled "constituent" too
In the IGTV she says she's "beyond excited" while she looks dead behind her eyesI think Tanya is just trying to get another source of passive income. I highly doubt she really does much for Authored, so by slapping her name on it and promoting it to her followers, it seems like easy money. The way she handled it in my opinion shows how she feels about it. It was just done so poorly, Tanya Burr Cosmetics was much better and she was actually excited then. It’s a bit of simple money that will help her keep buying her way into films.
It's the missing apostrophe in 'Whats' that most annoys me!
