Hey guys, I had to come on here because of Authored.

First up- people are obviously pissed off, and Authored is very obviously deleting comments en masse. I've seen a couple of people mentioning it already, but wouldn't what they are posting now be better as the countdown towards the launch of these products? It was a countdown for fireworks, but when the clock hit zero the audience instead got all of these hand- written (hehe) messages saying that the fireworks will come at some point? Not even a date for the launch of these products?

Also, changing the account name and keeping followers. I saw someone on the instagram profile saying it wasn't that big of a deal in the comments, but I do think that if at anything it is quite unethical. Transparency is a big deal and changing the handle + the deleting almost every comment is just not going to sit right with most people I reckon!

English isn't my first language, so I was just wondering. "Time to rewrite the new narrative" isn't that a very strange sentence? Wouldn't it be time to write a new narrative/time to rewrite the new narrative? and the captions under the pictures of the hands as well. It's not incorrect (as per my English skills) per se, but it's just very poorly written, isn't it? How you react to them and where the story goes next is your choice. The more pages you turn, the more it makes sense to do things your way. I understand it but I don't understand it whattt are you trying to say.

Authored is trying to sort of reach deeply within the customers soul with these quotes and pictures. But you're selling eyebrow gel, Tanya. And unisex makeup isn't revolutionary- Chanel has their own range directed towards a more masculine audience, Glossier has done a few campaigns about makeup for everyone.

I could go on, guys. Sad to say that I literally think this is the beginning of the end for Tanya's influencer because of all the poor career choices she has made the last couple of years (also, if she is so chilled about not getting any big roles in her career and only wants to act for the sake of acting, why not act as a hobby? I'm probably not a creative so I don't get this)

Also, just wanted to say sorry for my English! Some typos in there...

Oh god, just reread my post. My English is so bad you'd think I worked on Tanya's Authored team!

I came in here to say that the grammar in the Authored posts is… there are no words, really. It’s not enough to say the grammar is bad… The sentences are literally all garbled nonsense. It’s embarrassing and there is no way they hired anyone with any competency in marketing for this…

It gives me the same vibe as the podcast My Dad Wrote a Porno, if anyone has listened to that..."When you get what you want, you feel great!"

Your English is SO much better than Authored's! You're 100% correct that "rewrite the new narrative" is nonsense, we talked about it a couple pages back because holy stupidity, Batman.

IMO, it is shady to change the handle, use it for a completely different business, and keep all the followers instead of starting from scratch. The followers, at least the ones who aren't bought bots, were there for Tanya Burr Cosmetics, not for black sharpie marker faux-profound messages on hands. It's utter nonsense.

Tanya needs to apologise, fast, and hopefully leave social media. I really can't wait for her message about retiring, a la Ingrid Nielsen.

She wanted to ask this question and keep this going so bad but she knew people would not be having it so she just made it a Stories and not a post. 🤣

And this is her hand, right? The lighting and background look different than all the other photos too. I bet she took it today- I can picture her there alone in her room writing on her hand, teary-eyed that everyone thinks her bright idea is stupid and cringy so she's wrapping it up with one last "question" from her. I could just die.

Also, the irony of these self-exploration posts when the very founder is lost and has zero self-awareness. Repeating myself, but if she felt in her element and most "herself" when acting or being on set, then things would've naturally fallen into place and she would just be doing it more. She's not some unknown person who hasn't been discovered yet or hasn't had any opportunities. On top of being in a position of privilege and already being Internet famous, she's done all the things. She's hounded acting agents, set up countless meetings, she's traveled to LA for auditions, she supposedly takes workshops i.e. she's networking, she's had some exposure in Holby City etc. She's not getting more or better jobs because she simply can't act. She couldn't be further from being an actor, period.

It's actually scary how delusional she is that she can't see this, still keeps telling herself it's just a tough industry. 🙄

What on earth is this whole writing questions on the hand thing anyway.. Something you'd do in high school

I'm actually pretty surprised she managed to write the text correctly and it isn't backward or upside down. I wonder how many timed she had to rewrite this new narrative?

Oh no. Not the "I feel most myself when I'm acting" bullcrap again. Seriously, Tanya. It is never going to happen. And you sound so stupid when you say that. If you feel most yourself when acting, go get help. You probably have no clue who you are.

And yeah, the sausagey fingers are totally hers, adorned by the chavviest of jewellry, the most fried blonde hair, and the most stupidly knotted shirt to flash a bit of thin torso, because haven't you heard? She's blonde and thin now.

"Saugagey fingers " 🤣🤣🤣
She is so dumb. Why she stills continues to go in the BS land is beyond my comprehension.
Like people will buy stuff because it is marked as co founded by Tanya Burr. No one knows who you are bish! And those who knows are laughing at you big time !
You are making a clown of yourself every freaking minute !

But whattt is the message- what role does makeup play in all of this? Will I feel the most myself when I wear the products, will they encourage me to push forward? Are they talking about imperfection because the brand is imperfect haha? I mean I can only speak for myself, but as a customer I would rather want info about what you are selling rather than riddles. I also feel like this is just a new take on Glossier, or at least hoping to be.

Other things I want to know is: Has Tanya been involved in the product development or is she just putting her name to it? What is her intention with the brand?

Not to compare her to Tanya, but Rosie Huntington- Whiteley just released her product line, her scope is also essentials for everyday life, and she presented the products on the day of the launch with video tutorials and things like that. The webpage was also available before we could buy the products, so that we as customers could have a peak at what's to come. It made me curious to try the products.

I can guarantee that Tan won't acknowledge any of this confusion and backlash but behind the scenes will be thinking 'you just don't understand my VISION'.

Oh we understand Hun. I get your sixth form project. But, like your acting career it's ill-thought out, pretentious and amateurish.

P.S If you love being 'on sets' so much, get a job as an extra and leave the genuinely creative work to others. Some of you know I work in TV and I can honestly say that being on a set is fun the first time. I used to be a runner when I first started. So it's very exciting and new. But most who make it their careers do so for more than just 'well it's fun to be there isn't it?' 😂

Yep she likes the idea and aesthetic of being 'behind the scenes' and on set, and this effortless cool creative it girl - but she has no natural flair nor is she putting any hard graft in.

I bet Sam and Nic hate the Authored thing. Think about it: They gave Tarn her start while they were hustling, working towards their own brand. They were one of the first YouTubers to launch a brand of actual products, and they had to hustle for that too. Now this girl, their ex-"little sister" who they propped up and mentored, is releasing brands like it means NOTHING. Like hard work shouldn't be necessary for success. Like Tarn would be embarrassed to be seen working hard. I bet they feel absolutely ashamed of her.

Whilst I do agree with you, Sam and Nic also come from strong connections in make up as their aunt is Barbara Daly who did Princess Diana’s makeup for her wedding!

Sorry, that’s wrong their aunt is top make up artist Maggie Hunt not Barbara Daly.

Yes she wants it all to appear effortless and if she just deserves any success without trying. Working and grafting is not cool enough for Tanya these days.
But you can bet the people she admires, eg Caro Daur, put in the work to make it appear effortless. That is the difference.

I had to google her and noticed she only 26…Tanya must be raging as she does have the glossy, blonde thin look down to a tee.

i use to be a sort of fan of tanya and the rest of the brit crew back in 2014, then i stopped following most of them in 2015. didn’t tanya have a makeup brand (or was it a collab?) cause i remember my sister buying the the babypink lip gloss and hating how gloopy, sticky and lack of even coverage it gave.

Yes! Tanya Burr Cosmetics! It was sold in...I think Superdrug or Boots (don't remember which one). The Authored account is the same as tburrcosmetics on Insta, she has just changed the handle name. If you look at the tagged pictures of that account there are still pictures up from the old makeup range:)
