Imo Jess has always been petite but her weight has fluctuated slightly and it usually shows in her belly. I don't think she looks obviously pregnant at all based on that screenshot.

Oh really? i haven’t watched her for long, only last few months since I started reading again.

i find a lot of the booktubers are trying to be to woke now.

most of what she says comes from goodreads or from booktubers who have reviewed the same book.

I don't think she has it in her for a PhD. It requires crazy amounts of self motivation, and I just don't think she has that any more. She's gotten lazy.

I honestly believe she’s only like that because she knows the work she’s doing is of no real value, when she was doing her undergrad and masters she was much more motivated

They are crazy well off. They have multiple million pound homes and she lives in one of the most affluent areas in London with her mum. I think she doesnt need the steady income anymore - more than likely when she needed a mortgage, she may have needed a certain income hence the constant ads and uploads. Now she has the home, she knows she can afford the mortgage and work on her basic income of one video a week OR she has come in to an inheritance from a grandparent or her own parents that she supports her lifestyle with. Theres absolutely no way Youtube and being an Influencer is paying her that much considering she does the bare minimum and isnt really big at all anymore.

Some companies pay £20,000 for videos, I would imagine because Jess is signed to gleam, she gets somewhere in the region of £5k for a video! And she regularly does Instagram pics so about £2.5k for those, she could easily make more if she wanted but chooses not too, so she will have lots of money from her family, not forgetting her dad! He must be minted too

I would honestly enjoy her vlogs more if she was actually doing a job of work and not just moping about reading. I know she must have a lot on her plate at the moment with her mum being ill, but it just catches in my craw that she's doing jack-all when the country is in such dire straits.

Just caught up on the pregnancy speculation, I wasn’t aware of it before, though I did notice she’d gained a bit of weight. I would personally find it really bizarre if she actually is pregnant. She doesn’t strike me as the type of person who’d have a child ‘out of boredom’ because she has nothing else going on, for lack of a better term. And as someone else mentioned, she isn’t particularly maternal either.

In any case, for the last two years she clearly finds her half assed “influencer” lifestyle to be unfulfilling. She’s progressively looked more and more bored and unhappy with her life. I think she’s just directionless but lacks the motivation to break out of her laziness because she doesn’t have the financial pressure or urgency. She talked ages ago about writing her own fiction. If I were in her financial position, I’d love to take those couple years after her MA to write and publish a novel, but she doesn’t give off the impression of doing anything at all with her days...

I only heard about this rumor here and Thai was back in July. It’s almost October. In her recent Vlog she didn’t appear pregnant but I know everyone carries differently.

in any case if she is pregnant I would be really shocked she doesn’t seem particularly maternal.

I dunno just seems unlikely... and I don’t really like speculating I guess.

I also agree, as someone with the time and money should write a novel or get a job maybe reviewing novels professionally I dunno.

Agreed but also it seems strange that she has also posted lots of sort of hints like the baby’s breath stuff. That definitely added fuel to the fire.

Also the book. Like why would you be reading it if you weren't pregnant?

Just watched the vid and thought it was sweet, she seems happy and excited which is nice to see.

Not to be the ad police but she really doesn't disclose them well, it's right at the bottom of her description box that part of it is an ad for Farfetch.. did she mention it in the vid? I may have missed it.

I'm not sure if she's aware of the speculation – it's not widespread enough for her to inevitably pay attention to it – she might not read her comments etc.

Plus she's been very quiet on the house front. I wouldn't be surprised if they've been working on their own house quietly in the background to get at least some of it in a liveable state so they can move out at some point sooner than they intended.

Good question. They’ll defo be defying the guidance if they don’t cancel. She’s gone quiet again... I’m guessing she won’t resurface until the new year now and will make some excuses about needing an extended break.

very strange she deleted it and seems to almost confirm it more? like if she just was reading it out of pure interest (and didnt delete) i would have understood because ive done that before with pregnancy books etc even tho im 24 one year out of uni and nowhere near looking to get pregnant lol. but her deleting it is strange. hm.

She said she had a pretty difficult first trimester which carried on into the second, though she didn't explain what exactly but did say she didn't have to go to hospital, and that announcing now meant she is in a better place or something. She also said she was taking time to get used to the idea.

I like that she is being considerate thinking of whether to show the baby and seems pretty set that its appearance in videos will be minimal if she even shows her at all. Some influencers starting using their baby as an ad opportunity or photo prop as soon as they can which feels a bit off to me.

I also liked that! the fact that she is clearly (so far) not milking the pregnancy which she could have done but considering that she said she was taking time to get used to the idea of being pregnant I think it took her completely by surprise and not at all planned but I hope this change is good for her as a whole.

I'm torn on whether I think she's not interested in it at all anymore and can't say no to the money, or if she's genuinely excited about some ideas she has but then gets so anxious about making "perfect" content that she struggles to actually execute on anything.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I think she’s a perfectionist and whatever good video ideas she has are overpowered by feeling like it needs to be “perfect”, so she just procrastinates FOREVER and then doesn’t do the thing
