I like her style but I personally think all the tattoos and piercings don’t suit her tiny frame it’s a bit full on. Can’t be bothered to watch her high end purchase videos anymore as it’s not of interest.

Reading seems to be her main passion so I can kinda see how she'd be fulfilled with doing that most days. But I think she did feel a bit lost, hence why having a baby gave her her future back, as she said herself.

Think this privileged imbicile has been reading too much fiction rather than living a real life. Her post on instastories about her vlog including "surviving January" is just a slap in the face of people who actually have to work for a living.

I first started watching Jess when she was at Uni in Edinburgh. It’s my home town and seeing her view of my city through vlogmas was great. When she moved back to London her content went downhill and I unsubscribed.

Zac was a photographer before the Chef thing. I’m not surprised he didn’t follow through with it, I hope she likes that about him as I don’t think he will hold down the same job for any length of time.

I am surprised he is working for her though as they used to fall out quite a lot. I’m not sure they are suited but they do seem in love or did back in Edinburgh.

His family are very middle of the road when it comes to money. I wouldn’t call them middle class at all though.

The night nanny and the day nanny will be taking care of all of that for her. She won't do a moments hard work with that child, i bet she even has a c section booked in at the portland. If she pushes that crotch goblin out in an nhs ward with just a junior doctor there wielding the forceps I'd be shocked.

I still think 'they' need a job, how can her mother not be embarrassed by their lack of effort and drive. Two able bodied adults, one with the best education money could buy sleeping in and making the odd video with commemts she lifted off goodreads. She might not 'need' to work, but she should want to give back somehow. Reading for kids - something!!
Crying at this 😂 😂

In Britain you do actually have a choice, and given the right support and information you should be allowed to make an informed decision- phrases like the one you've said are totally unhelpful and increase negativity around c-sections, and that in turn affects someone's decision on whether to have one based on their own circumstances and medical needs. Seriously, just stop using the phrase.

I don’t think it’s quite as simple as this to be fair. Yes there is a right but it’s not easy to enforce that right when you’re giving birth through the NHS. You don’t just say you want to have a c-section - you seem to be put through a lot before it is confirmed, unless of course there’s a medical need for it.

Whereas if you have money like Jess, you can just pay to go privately and no questions are asked, you don’t need to ‘fight’ for yourself to get the c-section.

That is privilege and it’s a privilege that’s been afforded to the wealthy for a long time.

Agree with all of this, especially on top of the fact that she gave herself time off from being off over Christmas!

I listened to a podcast with her (to my knowledge the only podcast she's been on if you search on Spotify "As You Are") where she talked about how she hated disappointing people, I wonder if that plays some part especially now that she has shared about her pregnancy and had such an overwhelming response of support. She also talked about how as she's got older she's become shyer and wants to move away from YouTube at some point, as she prefers writing and photography

So she’s done a video on all the books she’s read and donating the ad sense to BLM charities I’m yet to watch it but she is back in London
Yeah she did, but tbh she for years has been advocating for BLM and the only youtuber/influencer I have seen acknowledging her own privilege. She never waited for something like this to show her support. It's because of stuff like this I still follow her, because I believe she still has some good in her.
Yes she is lazy and whtvr, but better being lazy than pretending you care about a cause like many others are doing right now, but after this calms down they won't lift a finger to keep talking about these issues.

And to that girl who came to share her stories from UNI, yes you should be feeling guilty, especially since you know she doesn't flaunt her privilege or doesn't act snob. that was totally uncalled for. And she left the boxes on the kitchen? LOL then her fucking housemates could have said something about it to Jess themselves instead of complaining to you. ffs people are so immature.

After this brief rant, yes, I do agree with some of the comments, she is too lazy in her content, and I have stopped watching her as much, I also feel like she should focus more on her books and become a book influencer or wtvr. It kills me to see her waste away her potential. and when they announced Zac was working on the channel, I literally said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO out loud... I just wish they would do youtube and still have normal jobs/lives!!

UGH it's a waste of both of their lives, I even commented on the video that this was a crappy decision.

Anyway, I just wish she opened her eyes ffs and realize that the path they are going is not the best for them!

I've really enjoyed her book reviews..... when she's put them out. I do think she could cut down on how many books she reviews if she's struggling to make the videos? Like, why not just review the best 2 and the worst 2? Even if she just did really short reviews, said one or two things about why a book was mediocre, and focused on the ones she really liked/disliked, surely that would make it easier snd quicker for her to make the videos?? I'm sure vloggers make their lives harder for themselves by wanting everything to be ~perfect~

I don't think there's anything wrong with her going back to study science at 26, honestly being older can help (having the maturity to self study makes learning A-level/uni stuff much easier) + it's not as if she's going to do anything else with her life in the next couple of years. Having said that, it will take time + dedication, I think she likes the image of herself as a true intellectual (woman of the arts and science), but doesn't realize just how much of a grind (+ competitive) it will be. I follow this girl who dropped out of her biophysics PhD on youtube (Tibbies), the reality is that most PhD's aren't as romantic as they seem..

And isn’t Meghan ellaby also around five months now?
If you wear baggy clothes it’s super easy to conceal especially in just a picture. In jess’ recents vlogs there aren’t many shots of her body, and when there was the flower arranging part I thought she did look pregnant a bit for the first time since the rumors started.

Apologies if this is too OT but at various points throughout this thread, people have suggested other booktubers to watch. Are there any that anyone would recommend that might not have been mentioned?

Whoever gave her her last name,.. I think she has her mom's last name. If you look up Barnstaple and her last name you will get the Wikipedia page of her great-grandad. He was even commissioned to work on Westminster abbey.. I don't mean to insinuate that she lies about her money but I've seen several older videos in which she says that her family is not rich.. while getting designer items. (so I think she downplays her wealth a lil bit because she does not want to appear too privileged)

Also on the pregnancy rumours, for me the biggest indicator that they wanted to start a family was when she showed all the children's book they brought to their new house from the farm. It was in a video from aroud spring/early summer. I found it kinda strange.

Also she seems to have stopped using retinol unless I've missed it in recent videos, haven't watched them all. She switched up her skincare around july when the goodreads book was spotted. So maybe to ensure her skincare was all pregnancy safe. Also comments about her skin not being great for "various reasons" same with the tiredness being for "various reasons".
I feel like there definitely are clues if you look for them but I wouldn't have thought anything if it wasn't for the pregnancy book.
Oh yeah and Zak speeding over the bump when he was driving and she seemed pretty concerned but I guess that isn't too weird.

God if it is just weight gain and she's not pregnant at all we've been absolutely savage
Agreed :ROFLMAO: but also it seems strange that she has also posted lots of sort of hints like the baby’s breath stuff. That definitely added fuel to the fire.
